Love your insights. Straightforwrad and honest about the necessity of some gear to achieve certain looks. I used to struggle with my old APS-C & slow lens thinking it was me, and when I found awesome deals for a used EOS R and a used 50mm 1.2 nearby, it totally changed my results with similar techniques. Bro yes! Loved this videos this style is my jam! Been into it shooting for companies for about 6 years now and implementing this with products is so easy and so fun! Also as soon as you said you’re rockin the 35mm f1.8 prime I was like.. bro! 👌 me too! Best lens I ever bought I still say to this day. And I bought it like 7 years ago lol low light and particle photography both are my jam so that lens was just the one to go with forsure 🤙

Awesome. Super helpful for people just getting up and running.
Don't forget composition! Cinematic shots in their original context (re: movies) rely on particular conventions tied to motion. Understanding the movement of cameras and subjects in a cinematic scope will help "dial in" the moment which needs to be captured as a static image- the moment which will convey the motion of a full shot, distilled down to a singular moment. Likewise, apply the same logic to your subject if that aspect is under your control- something you did get into in the video, of course.
