    Thank you for this video. It’s so helpful. Is it possible to plug mic for flute AND electric piano and do FX separately for both…?

      Hey Gary. Yes I don’t see why not. If you are not using vocals or guitar you can plug into those channels and use the effects.

    what if I do not neeed a guitar function but backing track and voice processor and loops.. what shall I as a vocalist get then now in 2024?... thanks for advice, there are so many products today.. but I never used one of these. But now I like to add this to my singing to backing tracks and also do looping perfroamcnes with voice and perhaps some drums...

      You could use this as a voice only processor. When you use backing tracks you can record changes into the timestamp of the track. Setting harmonies, delays, doubles, whatever you like. There are many different units you can use, but this one, in my experience is the most versatile and customisable. The vocal part of the unit has many different options you can play with. It's kind of endless. Auto tune, modulation, stutter, megaphone, pitch shift. You can even set it to sound like a robot if you want. Choir sounds. Female or male voices. It's got the lot.

      @@pro_muso you mean those ae presets?

      @@SimplicityForGood well you can use them in that way, but you can dial them in at a percentage. I don’t use auto tune or robot voices. I’m just pointing out the versatility of the unit. I’m essentially saying you have a wide gamut of tools.

    G'day Tod. Keep it up mate. It's a slow burn to get traction on YT. I bought a VLX3 a few years ago and your opinion is spot on about the learning curve. Didn't know about BandHelper but its now on my radar. Look forward to seeing you gig live with the VLX3 esp since you said you were enjoying playing so much.

    Wow, this video is so well done. I have the VLX3 and yes it does everything you saw it does....though I've never used backing tracks yet. I've also never used Band Helper but I'm going to check it out. Like you, I have all of my lyrics on an app on my ipad and the scrolling, lyric font etc is all set up but when I change songs, I need to go to my VL3 and go to the right preset....not that it takes that long to do because I only have about 50 songs (50 Presets), but I suppose it would be even better with BandHelper. Thank you so much for this video.

      Hey Tod,
      thx for your reply.
      I downloaded the manual and found on page 49 that it can control a DAW and show control midi equipment which I assume would be midi lights or other show control midi equipment as well as like you said can be controlled by your ipad. Anyway I have to get one of these first as they are pretty hard to get I read.
      Been using the VL2 for the past 9/10 years or so and it was a great revelation. Looking forward to getting one of these. As you say this is a revelation for solo/duo/trio acts. I started out with 4-trk cassette backing tracks recorded on a Yamaha MT44D, then midi came along and revolutionised my world but I was always looking for better / more reliable harmonies - then came the VL/2/3/3x yahooo! @@pro_muso

      Out of my laptop I am running usb out to midi in on VL3X.
      Do I need to set up anything in my "Remote Control" or "Midi Presets"?

      @@Link2theLinks I don't have any midi devices set for what I use under 'midi devices'. All I use are midi presets. I have an individual midi preset for every song because I need to change sounds for them all. Which I assume you do too. So yes, 'midi presets' is where it all happens to run my unit. So make your midi presets, name them, and then add them under the 'song' section for each VL3X preset. I hope that

    Great tutorial. You might get more hits if you edit the title to VL3X. That's how most people refer to it.
    I use the PlayAcoustic currently, but I own the VoiceLive 3 (not the eXtreme version) and I really need to delve in and get up to gig readiness on the VL3 to take advantage of the myriad other options that it offers over the more basic PlayAcoustic. This has given me a little push to get moving on this now that I've got some down time coming up over the holidays.

      Hey Matt. Did you end up getting it?

  • @Recommendable
    @Recommendable 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wanna use the effects both for singing and guitar, and obviously use backing tracks as well - sometimes the more I could fill in the space with other band players I don't cooperate with, the better, as a one band player for weddings, small concerts, studio recording...

    • @pro_muso
      @pro_muso  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay yes, pretty much the same as I use it. I guess if you want to fast track a repertoire I would start with the backing tracks. Learn how to use something like band helper to send midi signals to the VLX3. This way when you bring up a song you will have a backing track ready to go. You might have to play around with the levels a little bit because some songs sound one way in the studio and another way live. This is just trial and error. You can route the system to send three different outputs to your mixer. One for vocals, one for guitar, and the little stereo out for your backing tracks. That way you can mix them on the fly at a gig if any levels are too loud or soft. Other than that just dig in and learn. Another very important feature is button mapping. It is very handy if you want to set up which buttons do what and customise them. I hope that helps :-)

    • @Recommendable
      @Recommendable 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pro_muso Thank you for the hints, controlling the signal strength from the extrenal mixer tells me that 1.VLX3 hasn't the feauture of individual control of those 3 elements, 2.Has it but hidden and not easilly accessible 3.It's much faster to do it via physical mixer knobs
