  • In this five-part tutorial series, we'll review the basics of Avid Sibelius 7.5, so you can get started fast and make music as quickly as possible. www.avidblogs.com/sib7fast
In this lesson, composer, orchestrator, and music preparer Philip Rothman will cover how to create and use the various score elements that are known as Notations and Text. Notations include things like key and time signatures, clefs, special barlines, hairpins, and slurs. Text can be anything from dynamics, expressions, and technique text, to tempo markings, lyrics, chord symbols, rehearsal marks, and title text.

I'm an advanced Sibelius user. Yet I found quite a few things in here that I never knew before. Thank you for the lessons.

Hey guys!! How to perform a 'Fall' on sibélius? To with version 8, but I can not make the misery of the program execute ...................... ah until who says that the program does not execute, but if you give A look at the examples scores (scores already in the program) has funk, jazz and etc ..... right in the funk there are several pieces of the score that performs the 'fall'. Whoever has a light on this will be grateful

Hi, I want to write B flat chord symbol. How do you do that? I'm not able to write it using capital B and small b. It doesn't work with the text. It turns into B and a small capital B.

I am trying to put a simple 'intro' text over the intro first bar, 'ref' over ref etc. Can't understand why is it so hard to find.

Simply type Cmd-T (Ctrl-T for PC) for inputing TEXT, then click on where you want the text. After you've done typing the text, press Esc. Voila!
You can also add more complex text by right-click, then select Text on the menu for all types of texts.

Hello! Does anyone know how to make those diagonal lines that shows 11:30 in the video. I need these lines for when I only want Chords and Lyrics and no notes. It's very easy on muse score but I can't seem to find a way here...
Anyone who'd like to help me??

It's faster to create a lead sheet using a pencil and blank scoring paper. Seriously, I been doing it that way for years. I know a couple of piano teachers who do it that way for thier students and then make copies using a copier machine. It's just faster than going through software, unless you are creating lead sheets on a daily basis for consumers or band/orchestra musicians.
