However this is not the original film of the rehearsal with its opening of SM walking across the courtyard and opening the creaking church door. The sublime music and performance is the same. The CD loses a bit of the "humanity" of the piece though for me

Rares sont les interprètes qui donnent la primauté à l'esprit plutôt qu'à la technique. Dommage.

I get it, you want a round sound and make your lower notes there but it doesn't project...
I agree with your observation. But at the same time, aren't her tone and the overall rendition wonderful? Of course, this way of singing may be not of help in big opera houses...
@@dannyscarp7503 pfft, her vibrato is just tasteless, which this music does not need, especially where there are trills at the end of some phrases. There are also dissonances that are only effective when the tones are straight, not with vibrato
