I've had samples from Wahoo for a couple of years now. My deck project has been pushed back every year but we are really at a do or die this spring/summer. I want a dry underdeck for our walk out basement so I can include a hot tub, storage, excercise equipment, etc under the deck. I also like timber framing and this product lends itself really well to a timber frame design since you don't have to run joist. The biggest obstacle to pulling the trigger was the lack of reviews from previous customers. Wahoo wasn't much help with this and this product has been around since at least 2009. So I'm really thankful that you are documenting this. I'm still hoping to get feedback from someone who has had this installed for several years. My only real fears are squeaking, creaking or other noises with age and time. I'm hoping that with timberframing, dryjoist EZ, and Deckorators Voyage decking I can really have the aesthetic, life span, and performance from the best of both worlds. Once I get started and have my plans and permits I'll try to record my own experience but thank you so much Dr Decks for filming this!
Thanks so much for these videos and for showing that it’s not always easy to install decks and that there are always unknowns that creep up! Great job, Dr. Deck. Just out of curiosity, how is the water supposed to drain on each side? Is the mid-span higher?
I started writing a comment suggesting using a lubricant to help them slide, then the wd40 made its appearance. That’s the way for sure. Good job guys. I like the longer format personally.
Man U burn thru the employees? I been watching off & on 2/3 yrs ( I am a finish carpenter) cause I get busy but when I come back ? New guys ! Must be a bear training them over and over ! I just trained myself once and keep giving myself raises so I don’t quit ? Try that ?

Looks like it will work out, let’s see if remains waterproof. Thanks for sharing the new products
So far, so good!

Is there another video that shows the finished results? I would love to see that.
Very interesting system
Very!

Thanks for the input!
I'm enjoying your new format.
Glad you like it!
I kinda like this product, when you put the fascia cap on how well will the water get out?
We left a 1/2” gap at the bottom trim to allow for water runoff
Oh good to know, can’t wait to see the entire process. Thanks
Have you ever installed Duxxbak decking?
No. I know the owner but haven’t used it?
Looks expensive! How does it compare to timber joists and waterproof gasket boards?
It will cost more but it’s also a bulletproof system.
Million dollar deck on a 10 cent house. Looks promising, but at what cost?
You should be nicer, our customers read these. And you don’t know what they are doing next.
Yikes! Look at that deflection @ 15:10...
There’s some deflection until it’s locked together. After decking is installed, it’s just as rigid as any timber frame but can span much further
