    • @Squall6575
      @Squall6575 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even though they were simpler, I think Travis' drum parts served the songs better, but his live playing wasnt nearly as good as Alex. I sometimes feel like Alex overplays in certain parts and the drums end up sounding great, but outshining the song itself

    • @AnzaShadow
      @AnzaShadow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Squall6575 I think the first three Trivium albums were fine with Travis' drumming but Alex may have been a better fit for Shogun, 'cause it was overall a lot more complex than any of the previous albums.
      Alex creates drum lines that fit the songs, mostly. There are a few songs that could've used something simpler.

    Metronomes take lessons from Alex Bent.
    In all seriousness definitely check out Trivium. The band definitely shifted into a higher gear once Alex joined. (First album with him): "The Sin and the Sentence"
    And "What The Dead Men Say" just came out a month or so ago.
    This song is from their 2008 album Shogun. Recorded originally with their original drummer Travis Smith

  • @jonlaukeman1791
    @jonlaukeman1791 4 ปีที่แล้ว +41

    @ToughLuckStudiosInc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    Thank you so much for doing this guy! He’s such an underrated drummer. Unfortunately, this song and drum parts were from another drummer. Alex joined around 2017 and has only drummed on their latest two albums. If you truly want to see his genius, please check out the songs: “The Sin and the Sentence”, “Beyond Oblivion”, “Betrayer”, and “What the Dead Men Say”. All of those drum play throughs are on his channel and are phenomenal. You will not be disappointed! Hope you can one day do a drum analysis video on one of those songs! Again, thanks so much for giving Alex some light!! :)

    Alex is great. I have watched him a ton, both live and on his channel and in Matt Heafy's live streams of the shows, and he is always so smooth and consistent. He *is* a student of drumming and wants to learn as much by watching and listening to drummers from all styles. Primarily through TH-cam and listening to and watching drum videos of the greats. He is also genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with. True class.

    Bent is anazing. Most of us Trivium fans have liked them from their debut in 1999, Bent is their 4th drummer. With that said, their last 2 records have been phenomenal, and alot of credit go to Alex for pushing it up there. Check him out playing “Beyond Oblivion “, as most drum coachs watch him on that song, he’s all over the place with no sweat.

    A few things to look for in laptops is the processor, storage space, and storage type. An SSD is far faster than a hard drive, for example, but they cost more for more storage. Processors have cores, clocks, and cache sizes. You want to take a look at the Ghz, core count, and cache sizes. Most laptop processors can have around 2-6 MB L3 cache, which is the range you'll want to look for, but go higher if you can. You'll probably want to go with at least a quad-core, and 3 Ghz+. You may want to get an AMD processor over Intel just because AMD is better at what they do and usually have better temps.
    If you're looking for cheaper options, you can always go with a weaker processor with smaller caches or slower clocks, or a hard drive instead of an SSD, or less storage space.
