Most people also forget that the Sony XB43 has software for lights and soundsettings on the smartphone where you can make the xb43 more suitable for certain musicstyles. Therefore it is probably one of the best BT speakers out there
I actually went to Best Buy and compared the Charge 5 and XB43 in person. The XB43 was noticeably much better in bass and loudness. I ordered one off Amazon as Best Buy was sold out.
I did the same thing, went to bestbuy and compred. I preferred the sound much more from the xb43. The bestbuy i went to were out of stock so they ordered it from another bestbuy store. I picked it up a couple days ago, great speaker.
Tested the JBL extreme 3, Charge 5 and XB 43 at Mediamarkt. I must say the difference of the smaller and larger JBL wasn't that big. The JBL has alot of bass but lacking in mids and has a high pitch treble that left my ears tired from It. The Sony has a much more musical If not more relaxing tone response IRL. What was surpising was the sound spread oattern! The JBL had 40degree sound cone before it dropped of by 50%, whereas the Sony had a 90degree sound cone. So the Sony is better for entertaining a few friends on a blanket in a park I would say. The JBLs bass is a bit much in the park aswell 😅
Coming from someone who has owned both, I guarantee you'll be more happy with the Charge 5. It's even louder than the XB43 while being a much smaller speaker.
Man... the JBL C5 was dying since min 3:26, charging light was red. Low battery = poor performance. The results could be different if the C5 had been charged.
Loud and bassy is not what everyone wants, certainly not me. I will have to hear them both in person, but JBL sounds so clearer, Sony's sound seems like it's coming from another room really :). It's like when you walk into a bar and while you are at the front door you are hearing the Sony and when you enter it's JBL. Sony's bass is way too boomy for my taste, while JBL has a tight and clean bass, which is the bass I like. Listening on Sony WH1000XM3 headphones, so I don't have anything against Sony, but it's hard to understand how can this Sony sound so muffled compared to a speaker a third of its size. Guess you get what you pay for, given their price. If only the JBL had that 3.5mm jack, it would've been a done deal for me.
Hi, I had the same thoughts as you, well i got the xb43 and you can truly change every aspect of the sound, the default values heavy nass over clarity, you can change that in settings
I heard them both in store, but didn't get to messing with the settings. In the end, I went with a third option Marshall Stockwell II which was a bit more expensive but it's worth it in my opinion. Really love the bass and midrange of it, plus the design and the bass/treble knobs sealed the deal for me. Oh and it has that 3.5mm jack which is getting some use already.

Nice Review, and yes the Sony is better, in pricing and performance. If comparing by pricing the Soundcore Rave Neo can compete also with JBLCharge 5 and may beat it in sound/bass performance, for Rave Neo ( $99) is 50 watts, and has EQ apps. By customizing the sound through EQ Apps my Rave Neo easily beat my Xtreme 2 and for the price, i pair the Rave Neo with Flare 2 ( $69) which does the partycast(wirelessly synchronizes speakers) which enhance the sound of Rave Neo which blows my Xtreme 2 out of the water LoL and not to mention the great light display of the two.
That Sony sounds terrible. There are very good reasons it is cheap for its size. I’ve listened to both extensively in person with identical EQ’s on. @@jblking3896 says a 12 years old with "JBL KING" name. okey.
sony srs-xb12 vs jbl charge 5 maybe
Yes
What? Hahahahhahahahahaha
Even xb33 has no chance. Its comparable to the xb43 and look at the prices
@@shoerice5083 the xb33 beats the charge 5
@@pixelreflectorpro the funny thing that it doesnt....
Charge 5 is louder, deeper bass, better highs, better design... the 43 has the size of the xtreme 3 and it still competes against the charge 5... too bad you cant return your sony speakers because you keep trying to convince yourslef that its better to feel that you did a good choice
@@shoerice5083 cap
Who win?
between them two i would say Sony
Name Two Song please?
which ones? are you after will be updating video description soon
That charge 5...battery was loww lol???
I know even at low battery it performed awsome
Sony is simply the best when we talk about specifications
jbl charge 5 is not stereo , it only has a bass speaker and a twiter .
Sony sounded like crap. Muffled sound. Way bigger. Ugly. Takes damage easier.
Great video
Thanks!
Im getting the charge 5 so i can play it with my flip 5
Same
i don't know if they both are compatible with each other
@@nareshkeswani80 idk either
@@nareshkeswani80 yes thay are, both of them got partyboost
if that is then it is perfect
Nice video👍
Thank you
JBl Charge 5 for me 🤘
the charge 5 has an extremely bad battery
The Sony sounds so much worse. I'm getting a jbl charge 5
That's not a fare test. You can clearly see that that charge 5's battery is about to die. If it was charged up. It would have a better sound.

I have jbl charge 5 this is better than sony. Because i have this 😁😁

Acho que sou o unico Brasileiro aqui que não ta entendendo nada
Like always. My question is, who has the best bass 😂
