A lot of people will purchase a Bluetooth speaker because it has big bass and cutting mids. However, when you're actually listening to a speaker for a long period of time at normal volume, you want warmth. It doesn't fatigue the ears near as much as a sharp sound does. I've owned a ton of different Bluetooth speakers over the years and I listen to music almost continuously at talking volume in the house. A speaker like the Marshall that provides a very warm sound will allow you to listen for a lot longer.
Got the middleton last week for 250. Absolutely worth it. Sounds great, and the 360 feature really helps to fill the space with sound. Bass and trebble adjustments should be available on every speaker.
Me too,i got my middleton on amazon for 299 bucks but the good thing is i didnt payed it full. I payed for $60 for 5mos so im good. And the sounds is superb. I know Jbl xyreme 3 has an impressive bass and massive loudness but the middleton delivers clarity and clear sound 😉
Very details review thank you. Felt your music choices were very similar. Some acoustic and some rock would have given a wider impression of capability.
Got the Xg-300 $200 at bestbuy. Great video brother. I was going to get the JBL but for 200$ more it wasn’t worth it. Been happy with the Sony. I have upgraded Sony audio in my Ford Escape which I love. You made a subscriber out of me. Keep it up my man.
It's the Marshall Middleton all day long. I've owned both. The sound of the Middleton blows away the JBL. I don't care what it cost. It's totally worth it.
you never owned a xtreme 3. Concluded. Or you must be listening with a volume of 35 percent coz Marshall Middleton takes the lead over X3 in bass at only 35 percent. After that to 80 to 100 percentage all the bass lies below X3
Good explanation on the features of the three, but what is the point of plying the same type of music on the sound samples?? People are listening to different styles . From the limited such comparison - it seems that the Marshall has a lot more tribe than the other two, while not lacking bass and so much treble. The musical instruments are predominantly in the mids. Human voice is in the mids and the lower and middle trebes. which seals the del for me. I just ordered it.
Nice and informative video. At this very moment I am trying to decide if I need to upgrade my small sized speaker coz I need a lot more oomph! Torn between the JBL xtreme 3 and the sony xg300 but leaning towards the sony more. I have read some comments here that if you tweak the equalizer, they should sound amlost identical. Already got the marshall emberton for casual listening around the house and jbl clip 4 for outdoors. So I will give sony a chance to be my mid sized speaker. Hope I won't regret it😆
@@jalajrastogi5353 it's a definite yes. Tested them both multiple times but I like the rumbling deep bass on the sony much better compared to the punchy bass on the JBL. I have been using the sony XG300 for a few weeks now and following the recommendation for a 25hr battery life and it impressed me so far. Been playing for about 22hrs total now with around 40 percent left on the battery. Volume wise(following the recommended settings for 25hr battery life), it is loud enough, been using it arround the house all areas. Always been a JBL fan but I went for sony on this one and I never regret it👌
@@jalajrastogi5353 it all depends on our preference I think. For me I would like to use this speaker more indoors as I don't have any listening fatigue due to more highs and mids emphasis(although you could alter the settings as long as the speaker has equalizer). If I would go outdoors more often then I would definitely buy the JBL. Bottom line, for me, JBL is built for outdoors and sony for indoors. It all depends on each persons preferrence at the end👌
I’ve been looking for a speaker like these but with FM radio for use outdoors at a drive in movie theater. Any recommendation to check out for that use?
Don't forget aux capability. Pick a small FM radio of sorts and connect it to your speaker of choice. Get a cheap Sansa Clip. The 3.5 cord is your antenna. And they have plenty of battery life to last through a movie.
I got the Sony speaker for 2 months now... I can't get enough of it. Got it on sale and it was worth every dollar. Love the warm classic sound as if it comes from vinyl. Great video, salute.
I don't like how SONY is uncomfortable with wattage rating for it's speakers, (at least this model for sure, no specs anywhere on watts power on there website). Would you say this sounds as loud as a 60 Watt Speaker? (it's hard to tell through TH-cam on laptop speakers)
They don't advertise the wattage because it's almost always lower than the competition. Instead they focus on overall sound presence. I know because I buy a lot of Sony electronics for years now.
Greatest review ever. New subscriber here. I got the extreme 2. Couldn't effort the extreme 3. Can you please do a review on tribit stormbox blast 90 watt?
Good PC stereo speakers like Creative actually provide more (real sound experience) than headphones. I know all these videos suggest headphones but its you don't feel the bass as much and how it sounds through your body, whereas through good speakers you feel it and not just hear it through your ears, so headphones isn't always best to mimic the actual sound of the speakers tested or shown.
I like your style of how you produce your videos. But bro, those sound tracks were IMHO terrible! No bass whatsoever? So how can we compare which speaker has better bass? Also you gotta throw some 80s grooves and Classic rock? The song samples killed this whole test. Sorry man just being honest, each speaker sound was like it was coming from a shoe box.
Thank you for the test! It helped me a lot! I think I will choose Sony because have no cash for Marshall and after years with JBL I feel it laud but shrill. I just found a great online deal.
Xtreme 3 is the clear winner for me. The XG-300 sounded good but the JBL is just brighter and separates the sounds nicely, especially vocals and hi-hats. That being said, the XG-300 has the most natural, "warm" sound with a much more flat EQ, so probably best for movies and TV. The Middleton came last for me, not that it's a bad sound but the other two just sounded better.
I got the jbl boombox 2. And it comes with a EQ setting on the app and the bass on boombox2 sound tollly amzing to. I am still happy with my jbl boombox 2 However I still love the jbl boombox 3 and the sony x 500.
I will admit the XG300 sounds muffled out of the box. I don’t agree with the clear choice audio with mega bass being default. With the app for EQ I have treble almost all the way up. Mids are plus 4 and bass is plus 3. I’ve been listening to this way for the past couple days on went back to default and admit the settings “clear choice” out of the box is just bad. I went to Walmart to compare with the xtreme 3 and was almost identical
Done I really loved portable speaker.and for this comparison. Design: marshall “classic look” Ruggedness:i go for sony and jbl. I loved your review sir!❤

I had a Middleton, it distorted heavy after 70/80% and after 70% loses all bass, such a disappointment of a speaker. And I own about 6 speakers.
