    Lime is the only option for soft stone or soft brick. Period.

    This is what confuses me, portland cement ingredients (if I am reading correctly) is like 60% lime, sand and other metal oxides, so isnt portland cement basically lime?

      I've seen lime in every home Depot

      It's basic for stucco mix they all carry it in building materials next to Portland cement

    Can I ad lime for flexibility to Portland cement ? I'm making cement pot plants only small ones but I have noticed cracking

      Hi Robert, You CAN add lime to Portland cement to make the mix more plastic, and increase the workability. If your plant pots are cracking I would guess you used a bit too much water in the mix or it dried too quickly. Next time, try a little less water and put a plastic sheeting around the pot as it’s curing to prevent the moisture from evaporating too quickly. Good luck!
