I’m glad Tim had the spine to finally tell the parents of the Electric Sun 20 that “they’re not coming back, what happen happened.” Those words will be a comfort to them in the years to come.

This was a complete and total kangaroo court all thanks to that rat Vincent Rosetti, and honestly Gregg should be in prison for lying in court about Star Trek and trying to frame Tim like that, anyone who has ever seen Star Trek IV before knows that it takes place in San Francisco (hell, just try getting the "nuclear wessels" scene out of your head once its in there"
And not to mention the fact that the rat himself should be in prison permanently for attempted murder of Timothy Heidecker during his campaign for San Bernardino District Attorney.

..... This is what she responded to. A stupid question about what media reported, which has no bearing on anything. If media reported that they didn't know if they were results of a random attack instead of growing out of the protests, would it have made a difference? To who? Only lazy morons repeat such things withhout knowing the context.

    • @TheChrispy771

Informative - No, she did not state that it would not have made a difference, she stated “at this point, what difference would it make.”
They were trying to ascertain her responsibility, and she was cornered with the fact she didn’t forward information about unruly protests that created in assault. This might have elevated the security level.
She claimed “at this point, what difference does it make” in reference to the “how” it happened, stating she wanted to focus on the “what do we do now.”
She was wiggling, and she got upset because she was caught on something.
      Please stop spinning.

Tim’s opening statement was really heartfelt and a nice personal touch for the jurors. I found Chris’s comment to Tim in confidence before he died reveals a lot about Tim’s character. Truly an amazing prophecy. RIP young prophet.

Rewatching all of this trial again and there are only a few moments of breaking in the entire thing. I don't believe it was shot in one take (though I may be wrong) but that's still pretty good at staying in character.
Tim breaks when he brings up The China Connection. When he turns to then say "I was sold a bill of goods" he clearly turned to hide a laugh.
Gregg was clearly actually loving the Dr. San interrogation, even outside of the character being happy San is dead/being caught. The actor that plays San is a friend of Gregg's so you can tell he's loving that and the absurdity of it.
Long story short, this entire thing remains a really awesome bit of comedy.

What I love about Tim's comedy is how he personifies irrationality, shows how offense and privilege are used to defend against accusations, critique and culpability. This mock trial is brilliantly conceived and glorious in its accurate depiction of the inanity and cognitive disabilities too many of us continue to operate under.
One of the greatest things he characterizes is how offended guilty people get when they're held to account for their actions, how offensive they find that, how absolutely aghast they are that anyone would choose to prosecute them for crimes they've done, like mistakes are going to be made, lives are going to be lost, abuse is going to happen, but that's due to the choices people make, not b/c of anything they themselves have caused or done, so we ought to just move on and forgive them their transgressions, like lawlessness and chaos, rather than law and order, is how the world works or how it should.
That mentality is so bonkers, so much fun to display and act out, so much fun to see how ridiculously selfish and irresponsible and inconsiderate and disrespectful its orientation to the world is, it makes us more human just to see how egotistical and unintelligent it is-- the whole "show the wrong way to learn the right way," the "this is how you don't treat other people" method of teaching. Absolutely glorious.
