- During the Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary media event, we saw the premiere of Wonderful World of Animation - the latest projection show to hit Disney's Hollywood Studios featuring your favorite Disney movies from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Sleeping Beauty and Moana. Of course there has to be an appearance by the mouse that started it all - Mickey Mouse!

I'm so happy they gave the "underrated" films a chance to shine with the others and prove they are just as loved, admired, and important to the Disney family as the instant classics are. Especially Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, and Home on the Range. Also Meet the Robinsons, Great Mouse Detective, Aristocats, The Black Cauldron, Fox and the Hound, Oliver and Company, The Rescuers, Robin Hood, The Rescuers Down Under, and The Good Dinosaur. Just because some of them flopped doesn't mean they should just be left in the dust and forgotten. As Lilo puts it "Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" Thank you so much Disney for not leaving these films in the dust.
I was so thrilled to see those films included in the show. Loved they had a segment for Emperors New Groove.
@@davidgaritta9195 Agreed, yet it feels sad to hear people whining and complaining about which Disney movies don't belong on the show, acting like Disney revolves around their opinion as if it were a fact, having no idea what the word Ohana means, which should also go for all the Disney features that ever lived in Disney history. No matter what their box office performance, every one of them deserves love, praise, and recognition, and no amount of negative backlash is going to stop anyone from adding one of those films in their collection, not even prevent them from creating a fan club in honor of their legacy.

This might be controversial, but I love how the Villains section focuses on the more obscure/less talked about villains.
Totally agree. I kept thinking, "please show Prince John" and then he got the middle square. Typically, Robin Hood gets no love in Disney Parks

Everybody complaining better chill, outside of SOTMK the ONLY representation for The Emperor's New Groove we have in the parks. If they take this away because people are being whiny I am going to be VERY UPSET.

I like the very beginning...and I like the very end. I would love to see some story line throughout instead of just another Disney's greatest hits slide show.

I for one thinks the show works. Its a pre show. Hell both this and Disney Movie Magic do a more than enough of a good job putting on a nighttime show.
The Chinese theatre is not the best for projections. It clearly showed since the Star Wars nighttime show. Im just glad that we have something a night so that it doesn't feel empty.

I gotta say that the Wonderful World of Animation has gotta be a truly amazing show for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As a person who’s dreaming of becoming an animator someday, I’m impressed that they managed to include both various Disney animated classics and “underrated” films into this show.
However, instead of Chris Diamatopoulos, they could’ve used Bret Iwan as the voice of Mickey. That would be the icing on the cake.
Now, if this show was to be updated for the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration, I’d love to see them use Onward, Encanto, Soul, Raya and the Last Dragon and Luca.

To be completely honest it was very underwhelming in person lol, better on film.

This is the pre show to the night time spectacular and so it needs to only get you hyped.

I like it. I think it's pretty nice, especially as an animation buff, I love that there is finally something that goes through EVERYTHING. Last time something did that was the animation segment of World of Color Celebrate. I really like the finale that had Walt and Mickey, but I wish that they had used Bret Iwan's voice instead of Chris Diamantopoulos. Chris' voice works pretty good in the tv show, and I get that they are using the tv show's Mickey, but just for this one instance, they should have used Bret's voice for that Mickey. I think more people like Bret's higher falsetto, and is more pleasing to the ears. I mean, hearing Chris' voice was so loud and jarring and low, that it almost sounded like they just picked some random guy off the street. For some reason, it's only when he's adressing a crowd that I hate the voice. Like, in Mickey's Mix Magic, I don't mind Chris' voice, except when he adresses the crowd. When he talks to Minnie or when he's kind of talking to himself, it's okay but it's just odd when it's to us. And here it's really... not good.
The end also posed as a taste of Mickey's Runaway Railway. Did you see him walking in to the building at the end?

Well, I think Chris’ voice is fine in any medium, because out of all of Mickey’s voices, it’s the easiest on my ears

The scene where the balls rain down on the clarinet on the right represents Make Mine Music, the scene where the giant picks up Mickey with the key in the middle represents Fun and Fancy Free, and the scene where the man skates hearts on the left represents Melody Time
Okay Craig, I want your opinion on this. I'm only a few minutes in, and I'm bored. And it's your fault. 😆 Remember on The Best and Worst Show where you were talking about the Star Wars Movie at Launch Bay? How it was just a glorified TH-camrs mash up of clips? That's how I see this. And there's no overarching theme from on clip to the next.Am I way off base?
I get frustrated with projection shows because it's simply too much information for me to process and enjoy. I think "I want to look at this end of the building" but then I think "I'm missing what's on the other side". With fireworks, or some of the older shows, you weren't overwhelmed with trying to see everything. You just looked up. I must be getting old
I could see them mixing this and Movie Magic to celebrate all of Disney’s movies. Then it could replace Star Wars Galatic.
DisQuick they could make it so Disney movie magic is te main show and add 8 minutes and big fireworks again. The 8 minutes can have a lot of content in it if used properly

As much as I hate the star wars firework show, it might just be the one thing keeping us all sane, cause while every show now is just a collage of Disney movie clips on a building, at least star wars has unique clips....
Love the projection mapping shows, but tbh I think this has alot of missing potential. Hey at least we technically didn't get our 14th consecutive Let it Go sequence

Wow! This new show showed love to Fox and the Hound, Rescuers Down Under, Oliver and Company and Emperor's New Groove and even the Great Mouse Detective. I think I even saw Treasure Planet in this. Disney does listen to its audience. And Bambi got a lot of love in this as well but Bambi has had a presence in the parks. But the other movies you really had to look for to find any reference to them. Now if we could get them to show some love to Meet the Robinsons and Atlantis. Hey if they can show love to a box office bomb then they can show love to anything. Except Home on the Range, that movie deserves to be forgotten and never watched.

Who the hell are you to say what shouldn't be on that show just because you say so. Only idiots would think HOTR deserves to be forgotten and never watched when its already become a cult classic among others. Maybe not for everyone, but there are people who do care and love it, so nothing you say will ever prevent all the other underrated movies here from being mentioned. You don't like that it was added, well it sucks to be you, so suck it up and deal with it. All the movies here deserve as much, praise, love, and recognition as the classics do. I mean you clearly haven't seen Black Cauldron or Chicken Little, yet despite being underrated, they CHOSE to show them and they chose to show HOTR, ignoring idiots who think its their place to tell someone what deserves to be forgotten. In my opinion its Chicken Little that deserves it, but I accepted the fact that it was part of the show for those that care. Because no matter how much I hate Chicken Little, my opinion is not going to prevent the people in charge from sharing the moment in this show, just like yours will never stop people from watching and loving whatever "underrated" Disney movie they want without you telling them otherwise.
Still barely show anything from Alice in Wonderland which disappoints me because they act like it never happened even though it never got any real backlash

Some people are just selfish and ungrateful, unable to be more thankful that Disney movies regardless of their box office performance are here to provide happiness and entertainment, which goes for every single one of them and not just the instant classics. So even if I were to think and still believe that Chicken Little deserves to be forgotten and never watched, that's not for me to decide if it should be part of this show or any show, just like its nobody else's place to decide which other "underrated" Disney films should be there or not, because that's for the people of this show to decide, not some online users' rants.

Good quality video, but the show itself is so underwhelming. What’s the point of it being outside? I’d rather sit in a theater to watch movie clips. This looks like a good time to visit some attractions.

As the beginning of the 30th anniversary celebration of Disney's Hollywood Studios, That was the new nighttime spectacular show, "The Wonderful World of Animation", featuring the famous Mickey Mouse!!
I remember about the story: it was the legendary Disney and Pixar Animated films from the past throughout the year, From the Modern era to the Millennium era!!
And I hope that I can't wait to be the first to see it!!! So, I'm so happy!!😁😁 and I'm gonna cry!!!😂😂😂😭😭😭

Thanks for sharing the video! The video itself is great, and I'm glad I watched it, because now I'm convinced that I don't need to see this show in person. I wasn't negative to this idea before seeing the end result, but holy smokes... This is so boring. No Disney magic at all. The soundtrack sucks too.

The soundtrack kills it. Sounds like bad TH-cam cover versions of classic Disney music. Visually, it looks great but the music puts me to sleep.
This show is very underwhelming. Only parts I liked are Mickey at the beginning and end.
