To retain the soil you need a retaining wall. A shear wall is exactly what the name implies, is carrying shearing forces which are forces applied along the face of the wall. In both of the examples you did at the beginning the forces would act perpendicular to the wall face.

What’s the meaning of configuration reinforcement in shear wall details? And where can I find it in the drawing plan?

hello, i see that you placed the transversal/horizontal reinforcement in the inner section of you shear wall while at outer part is done with the longitudinal/vertical reinforcement, but even the bulb stirrup is holding nothing, is it ok?

Sir, how can i calculate or to know what should be the spacing of our steel reinforcement for shear wall?

why the horizontal (disttribution bar) inside while in the retaining wall out side

thank you for such a nice explanation. can you show how to design basement wall. and why are the main bars in th shear wall vertical. can i use horizontal bars as main bars. what is the minimum diameter of bar i can use as vertical bars in shear wall. and what is the minimum dia of bars to be used as horizontal bars. For columns, 12mm is the minimum dai that can be used as vertical bars. does it apply to shear wall too?
i am asking for design of basement wall because as it is anchored on the two beams and two columns on the four edges, it would rather act like a two way slab oriented vertically and retaining horizontal load. can i design it as rwo way slab?

etabs give me 5000 sq mm reinforcement area for my basement wall? what does that mean? Am I supposed to distribute half the area of reinforcement on each side of the wall?

Bro rings / hoops come outside the vertical bars.. if you put reinforcment like this then it will bulg and fail under higher load conditions.. totally wrong...

    More like a retaining wall.

basically the design for a cantilevered retaining wall minus one wall and a buttress/counterfort on the backfill side
