After watching many of your vlogs, we returned from our 14 day trip to the Phillipines 2 weeks ago.
We stayed in Makati for 2 days and walked miles. We visited the Greenbelt Malls whilst enroute to China Town and Divisoria area/market. What a culture shock that was, small children homeless on the streets, but its all part of what you see when you travel. We then ended our day with the Pasig River ferry ride which took just over an hour - its free and a great way to see another side to Manila.
We flew to Cebu (absolutely hated it there), went to Bohol on the ferry and stay in Panglao, before going to Siquijor - which for us, Siquijor is as close to paradise as we could get. Loved it.
Anyway, back to Manila (this time staying in Manila Bay) via Cebu. This time, we spent our 2 days before returning to the UK walking even more miles - we actually walked from Intramuros right down to the Mall of Asia, it took 2hrs!!
Its good to see you are showing all sides of Manila, we are glad we experienced it.

When it comes to homeless or street dwellers it's the opposite of Bangkok, where the homeless mostly composed of Senior citizens..........literally sleeping on the sidewalks around Ratchadamnern Road, Khaosan Road, near the Grand Palace area...........
@@annecundiman8621 it was fab. Sadly the Philipinnes isn't travelled by and overwhelming majority of brits so it was good to watch these vlogs for some inspiration and know what to expect.
@@nlf17 young or old, its very sad isn't it. You are right, I can't recall the same amount of children in Bangkok, but their are harsh sides to travelling and culture, unfortunately this is one of them.

Any outdoor area is a public area and in my opinion should never prohibit filming. I guess the casinos are protecting the privacy of their gamblers, which is crazy.
you are correct, they are protecting the gamblers specially the high end high stake rollers.
In other countries, Thailand and Middle East i've been to, some areas which is public you are not allowed to take videos or pictures. It's not about privacy but rather security of the people, government offices or businesses in there

In the U.K. private property is often a public place such as shopping centres, car parks, football stadiums. As such if you use those places you must abide by the rules which give an implied ‘right’ of access. If you break the rules (such as being rowdy, dressed inappropriately, vlogging (lol) you can be banned or kicked out.

It's cute how i can hear Lucy dragging her slippers when walking around the mall... It really makes me feel like i'm back in the Philippines where 95% of the people are wearing tsinelas and the heel edge being worn down... Makes me miss it... Can't wait to be back next year in November

I think the reason they mentioned as to why people must not film was because of security reason. Most of the time its on very crowded area

I just went there (Parqal Mall). It's nice looking; the pool in the middle is really great. However, currently there is almost nothing there except salons and Korean restaurants. I'd skip the trip for at least a year or so.

My experience with the filming thing is they (for some reason I really don't understand) get touchy when using DSLR's for vlogging. But when you film with your phone they won't even give you a second look.

Yeah the mall has nice architecture but drab colors, lol. Well maybe it's really not catered for families with young kids... Not sure too why there are places that do not allow vloggers. I've seen some get turned away from SM Supermakets. In Greenhills too, it's very strict. Maybe because they sell mostly imitation items. But then it's the same in Divisoria yet no restrictions to vloggers. So it depends on management I guess. You can vlog in Greenhills, but you need to be escorted by a security guard. Though i've seen some who were able to vlog there undetected. :)
i think that the only part of newport city where filming s not allowed is the casino but the rest is video friendly.. i have watched many content creators before who did vlog about that place and no one told them to not film there except for the casino.
Anyway, i like newport city. somewhat more private than bgc.
BTW.. Parqal mall was designed perhaps to have that european feel to suit the taste of those a list personalities or famous people who are looking for places where they can go to shop with more privacy and exclusivity because such place is not common to be frequented by the masses who normally go to sm or ayala malls. (sounds snubbish but it is just my opinion. not confirmed)

Regarding what you asked at the end... What wrong with filming yourself walking around? You aren't purposely filming any person or identifying where some people live... There doesn't appear to be any sensitive information around that need to be kept secret... You're literally showing the world and those of us that are not blessed to be able to go back home as often as we would like to, the things that are new, popular or may trigger people to want to go check out when they do have a chance to visit... strange to me the guard would ask you not to record.

Generally speaking, they don't know your intent, how the video will make them look, what reviews you'd be making, etc. They don't want to risk making their business look bad in any way and lose customers. You know your intent, but they don't. Your intent is good, but not all will like that area and showcase the negative side of the business. For instance, you guys alone saying only half the stores are open makes me not want to go there. I don't live in the Philippines so I'd rather go to places that'll be more worth my time. Hence, they lost my patronage just by watching this video and not even going there yet. If it's a casino type of place, they will absolutely not let you film to protect the integrity of the games. They don't know you are promoting the place; they'll have to assume some are doing so to gather info to cheat- we're talking money here...they will not take chances. Not all will have the same idea as me, but I provided an answer to you genuinely asking what might be a reason why they don't allow filiming. Really they could have many more other reasons.
