@4Pickledonions I think we can expect a full a-life system. Even Modders have said that they can can implement a-life completely into Unreal. It's just more a matter of how long it will take rather than if it will be. And it seems like a-Life 2.0 is actually in the game, but it is either disabled or completely broken and the secondary director system has been amped up dramatically to compensate for no a-life system. That is why there are so many spawns happening right next to you and they never stop spawning.

@TheNoobyNoob1 yeah and all of that cost money. I'm not surprised they had to release the game. The game is good imo. Playing on a ridiculous pc with English English subtitles, I haven't encountered any noticeable bugs outside of unreal engine being unreal engine. (Micro stuttering)
One of my complaint are key-binds. There seem to be some things which are hard bound and cannot be edited. For example, no matter how I change it "O" always pulls out my PDA. Of course, force of habit, I always press "O" whenever I want to pull out a detector so it screws me up a lot. I've tried to edit the controls to my liking but I've ran into a lot of issues. This is even worse if you want to use a different control scheme to "WSAD". I have a friend who is left handed and trying to customize the controls for him was an absolute nightmare and there are some things which just plain don't work. My friend uses "TGFH" to move instead of "WSAD" and despite our best efforts, we just couldn't get the controls to work. Even is you bind your movement to "TGFH", things like climbing a ladder still use "WSAD" to move up and down and you can't change it. Thus the game is extremely annoying. It ties into what you've said about the "tap Q/E to use one item and hold Q/E to use a different set of items". I've gotten use to it but in the keyboard customization option, there are actually "quick select item 1/2/3/4" options but you cannot bind "quick select item 2/4". They are greyed out and cannot be bound. This is really weird. Feels a bit like the controls are built more for controllers rather than a keyboards. Sure, you can say how the "tap/hold" controls are cool because they add to the immersion in your mind but man, I never thought I would be complaining about key-binds in a Stalker game. We've never had a problem in previous entries, my left-handed friend was able to rebind everything and play properly. In Stalker 2 that's not the case. We definitely need full key-bind customization.
I’m a few hours in and it’s not a bad game at all, but it’s definitely missing a bit of that STALKER charm. A couple things that have stuck out to me so far: the characters will make quips or unnecessary comments which aren’t even funny and don’t make sense in their situations. And this might sound dumb to some people, but a facet of the original games that is missing here is that you never lose control of the character in the originals. It’s part of that Half-Life 1 inspiration that is apparent especially in SoC. But here it seems like an in engine cutscene plays every 5 minutes, which kind of unimmerses me everytime it happens. And that A-Life is baaad.
The people whining about the compass are stupid as hell. The original trilogy had a minimap and markers on it. People deep throat Anomaly and GAMMA so hard they're now mad that STALKER 2 has things the originals had.
@shakefan1484 exactly. I put that in the video i literally showed how in SOC it's right there Honestly hate the gamma/anomaly fanboys. Those mods suck anyways.
@@BrokenCircle1 What's even funnier is both Anomaly and GAMMA have optional minimaps. So by these people's logic those must suck, right? Hell I'd rather have a minimap or compass than constantly having to open my PDA to make sure of where I'm going. STALKER 2 does have issues but some people are just creating reasons to be mad..
What happened "behind the scenes" was the dev cycle of S2 going through COVID, biggest war in Europe since WWII, shelling, blackouts, studio separating between 3 different countries & working remotely while having around 400 employees overall, fire in the office in Prague destroying lots of data (which is why, for example, mutants can't be skinned in the game even tho there are hunting shops in big hubs albeit without traders in em), constant hacking, massive leaks & devs getting death threats 24/7 from the so-called "truest STALKER fanbase in existence" - that & some other stuff that GSC, having no publisher, had to go through to bring this game to life 🤷🏻♂
As much as I love this game and yes they had many issues.... all of their games have . First stalker game was full with bugs, performance issues and so their other games before covid, war , and soo on. They are like Bethesda used to be. Unique games, full with bugs
Given current events in Europe, I can somewhat understand lacking any Russian made weapons. But the Walther PPK and the 1911, a German made weapon and an American made weapon being rare? I don't understand that.
I've started play Cyberpunk 2077 after 2.0 patch and expansion, so I'll wait for this one year or two. In the meantime i've just started my first IWP run (thanks for recommendation on this btw).
I’m glad to find a video of stalker 2 from a stalker fan, neither ,,oh game is worse than cyberpunk 2077 launch” nor ,,guys devs couldn’t deliver because of war so you must glaze it”, being honest and critical is what made me have a huge respect for you and your channel, I personally won’t buy stalker 2 yet because i want them to fix whatever bugs and performance issues are there, add to that i want to upgrade my hardware because I don’t want my stalker 2 experience to be locked behind 30FPS and low graphics, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the game when the time comes
@mcelfy1006 Thabks for watching. Yeah i like the game, frankly I love it but i refuse to ignore the issues. Someone told me there is no night vision which actually upsets me. As for the war thing that's why I said the delays started happening before the war.
@@BrokenCircle1 aww man night vision would have been so cool in game, anyways i'm already curious how they name expansions for this game, dark sky and fall of prypiat or something like that? I agree w9ith the weathers, they should have more qeathers that are like mild winds and just cloudy days. It seems that all of them are on the extreme side, which i can understand seen as its stalker. Also Ive daid in aother reply on here that A-life 2.0 does seem to be in the gsme but it is either disbaled or broken right now, im guessing most likely disbaled and they have compensated by amping up the spawns and the director system. Modders have said they can fully implement A-Life into stalker 2 if it is not there. It is more a matter of how long it will take rather than if it can be.
having played the original stalker games when they first came out (my first youtube videos were stalker related !) and hundreds of hours of anomaly, i am of the same mind set as you are .. its not perfect but its certainly a very playable game and its far from broken, im at 29hrs atm and have just finished the garbage quests and now at the sawmill so there is plenty to do yet ... only had 3 crashes so far, 2 during walking about (was using epic details in 4k) and 1 after reloading multiple times due to dying over and over (after sawmill the boars part lol) playing with a ryzen7 5800x 7800xt 16gb ram on high now at 1440p with fsr on quality and getting 80 to 100+ fps most of the time apart from the stuttering when approaching areas with lots of npc's ... im going to order some new ram for my system too probably 32gb 3600mhz as i think this will help make the game run a bit better. I also watched a video that went over some mods that are already available on nexusmods to address some of the issues people are complaining about but im going to finish the game in vanilla first before modding it.
It's core systems and gameplay Is addictive personally I Don't mind jank or bugs if it's not game breaking so I love it, definitely not a cyberpunk launch
While I will not be able to play Stalker 2 for the foreseeable future, I love the originals with all their jank and spice. Stalker 2 seems like a competent game, even if it does differ a lot from the originals. It is like a good meal just doesn't have all the spice there and maybe could have spent a little more refining of ingredients. It doesn't take away from or replace what is already there with the OG games and community mods. It's a different take, far more streamlined but still seem to be able to give some of the vibes. Maybe it was a mistake a bit to call it Stalker 2, could have been under a new IP or different title, because in the hiatus between this and CoP, the IP sort of took on a life on its own.

biggest thing for me is UE5, i despise the "game" engine because of all the graphical issues it has, you can see through out the video its smearing because its trying to process lighting each frame, UE5 is like blender if it was trying to be unity (and on top of that there is some input delay if you don't have higher than 60 fps)
@TSK_Silver Yes I do notice that, that makes sense. Yeah UE5 really isn't performance friendly. It looks great IF you have the hardware to run it. Guess I need an upgrade lol
As far as flickering walls are concerned, The Peach Cobbler released a video 1 or 2 days ago and he mentioned that in a mission the game required him to go down a certain ladder and once he was in the basement the room wouldn't load and he ended up falling through the world without respowning him on top, they patched it out in a few hours and that's when the walls started flickering
The game doesn’t look good at all, very poopy. And it might have managed to run for some like you, but it was literally unplayable for the people that it didn’t work for. Almost a Cyberpunk 2077 situation.

(since heart of chernobyl is first chapter in stalker 2 while in legends of the zone we have shadow of chernobyl)
It is more a matter of how long it will take rather than if it can be.
having played the original stalker games when they first came out (my first youtube videos were stalker related !) and hundreds of hours of anomaly, i am of the same mind set as you are .. its not perfect but its certainly a very playable game and its far from broken, im at 29hrs atm and have just finished the garbage quests and now at the sawmill so there is plenty to do yet ... only had 3 crashes so far, 2 during walking about (was using epic details in 4k) and 1 after reloading multiple times due to dying over and over (after sawmill the boars part lol)
playing with a ryzen7 5800x 7800xt 16gb ram on high now at 1440p with fsr on quality and getting 80 to 100+ fps most of the time apart from the stuttering when approaching areas with lots of npc's ... im going to order some new ram for my system too probably 32gb 3600mhz as i think this will help make the game run a bit better.
Even at 100% load for extended periods, a 7700K should not be approaching 100C. I don't know what your cooler is etc, but it's probably well past time for a thermal compound change.
@@TheBig451 you change that stuff? Perhaps it is time to look into that then. Thanks for the info
Ya every few years@@BrokenCircle1
@@BrokenCircle1 Yeah that 100c sounds like it's a GREAT time to change it :D my i5-12600k won't go over 65c on 100% and i'm running a cooler from the cheapest end.
biggest thing for me is UE5, i despise the "game" engine because of all the graphical issues it has, you can see through out the video its smearing because its trying to process lighting each frame, UE5 is like blender if it was trying to be unity (and on top of that there is some input delay if you don't have higher than 60 fps)
@TSK_Silver Yes I do notice that, that makes sense. Yeah UE5 really isn't performance friendly.
It looks great IF you have the hardware to run it. Guess I need an upgrade lol
@@BrokenCircle1 well when you get a nextgen pc, don't forget us little guys when you make your reviews lel
You are right about the emissions, they look like shit
@jazzypenguin4401 I mean they aren't horrible just underwealming even compared to the vanilla games
Lmao this guy said the music was better than the originals. Not even close 😂
I’m sorry, 48gb of ram? What? Why?
@Broken circle Does the game feel irrelevant like never needed to exist with all the modded titles of previous years?
Still too much bugs to enjoy for me.
Refunded, probably will get later with minor sale.
Not a great game, rather.. goodish
The game doesn’t look good at all, very poopy.
And it might have managed to run for some like you, but it was literally unplayable for the people that it didn’t work for.
Almost a Cyberpunk 2077 situation.
'poopy'. Looks like its time for your juice box and nap time.
Sounds like that graphics matter to you more than gameplay. 🫤
No NVGs or Binocs
@@haleddot442 That SUCKS. That's actually awful. The binoculars i could deal without but no nods? That was a big thing in the og games...
I read that they didnt put binoculars and x8/x16 scopes because the lack of A-Life and rendered npcs at the distance
@@juliancz_ya the NPCs render out so close you could play the game with a pistol if the bullet drop wasn't nerf guns
Most feared zone aka Red Forest was Red but not scary....
I didn't found the way to turn off icons on compass and still have compass.
Nothing will ever top modded stalker
30 fps ((((
Without the stamina mod for no stamina on running I can't play it. I have a 4080 and it runs okay but still gltichy.
stalker 2 is todd howard game
