- Welcome to the first Episode of "T90 Trolls." An AoE2 series where T90 plays viewers and attempts to win games in ridiculous fashion. In this game the goal was to kill my opponent with only militia. Point of view gameplay is not the norm on my channel but if this is successful we will make this a semi regular feature. Enjoy!

Hey TH-cam! It's not common for me to upload gameplay, but the Twitch community really enjoyed these and I figured I'd send them to TH-cam! If you enjoyed them and have ideas for future trolls let me know :D A large portion of my content will be casting obviously, but I figured I could switch it up!
Sneak TC. Opponent tries to scout your base and you're not there. You're in the corner behind them. Surprise!
Of course, only pull it once everyone "realizes" you'd never do anything that dumb. ;)

Maybe going fast castle and some units for defense but you use nothing but Petards to destroy their base?
Win a game with Koreans towers, but you cant make any military or get to the Castle Age
Try villager only combat or tower only you can only combat with towers lol
Zezedder here. The boar lame is my proudest moment of AoE2. I actually never practiced it and it put my eco to a stop. But this Video confirms it was worth it. :D
Sadly I didn't really play for months and forgot about quickwalls. I think they might have helped. :/
Also keep an eye out at 2:54 for the moment of lame! T90 could have noticed it!
I think walling in general would have been a good idea, to restrict t90's mobility. That being said, that was a crazy game, and you did amazingly
You played well dude! I especially admired the tenacity i.e. that you didn't give up early. :)
Another tip would have been to place those tower to guard your eco more. They were all on one side of the base and only protected your gold

play it on hardest against max number of ai on the largest maps this helps you get better also always keep at least keep buildings making units so your always replacing loses as this ensures you have enough men this has only failed me once in a proper vs match when it was only me and one other player left after an hr due to the fact we had depleted the map of gold so i was forced to use units that did not cost gold and i lost in the end but with any game keep playing and you will get better
The reason we are all here is because we love this game, not because we're all pro.

Luv it. I do want to see a lot more T90 Trolls. This is the good stuff man; Community games, weird game modes and T90 Trolls are my favs. Pro games, while still great content, are just not as fun and entertaining.
I have thought in the past, "maybe I could get decent at this game.I was OMW in 1999-2000." then I see the APM of not-even-the-best-but still-really-good-T90. It is like an anime, and I am not even the hero at lvl 1, I'm an NPC
If it makes you feel any better I'm still in the top 120 in the world with my rating (humble brag). Getting 2k+ Voobly puts you in an elite group. The sad thing is that the top 20 are so much far above me it's not even close :D

I dunno why people were picking on poor red so much. T90 may meme a lot, but he's still well above average. Not as good as a pro, but he's def in the top 10 percentile.

@ yes, thats the idea... The troll move is just attack with milicia. If yours villagers works better you need less villagers and you can make more milicia.

I would really like to see more gameplays from you on youtube, I don't have the time to watch twitch sadly and watching you play is really informative and entertaining. Even if it's just trolling strats you still manage to explain the meta of the game really well, and you explain your train of thought really clearly and precisely.

Micro isn't bad but decision-making is so bad compared to top experts! Around 9:00. Enemy villagers are just collecting deer! They don't care about the fight! They are not disturbed. The militia are just dancing around other militia, then they retreat. During this time, they could have been killing villagers or knocking down a building. In NAC 2 final, one of the players used their drush to kill a mill (and deny berries), while the other player did no damage with their drush and ended up losing that game. Idle military is bad, especially when you have a military advantage or faster units. This is a basic principle of AoE2 that applies to all stages of the game, including Dark Age.
Remember, a villager collects enough resources for another villager in about 3 minutes. At some level, if a living military unit does not destroy their resource cost worth of enemy units or structures in the same 3 minutes, you would have been better off 'booming' even if this means idling your TC and a temporary decrease in economic output because you are advancing to Castle age.
12:00 bad farm placement! At 6 tiles away, that's an extra 15 sec per trip. About 30 sec to gather 10 food, so 33% drop in farming efficiency. Over the life of the farm, that's an extra 260 seconds wasted, during which the farmer could have collected about 105 wood (because Celts).
With dark-age militia, towers are a lot easier to kill than a TC because watch towers have 1 melee armor, TCs in Dark Age have 3 (and +1 per age). But if you're serious about staying in dark age, you make extra villagers and use them to kill buildings faster.
I commend your effort analyzing the game, but you realize this was a casual troll game right? You seem to really think I've gone at this as if it was a tournament game. I had 150+ militia this game and was in the dark age the entire time. None of this was meta or efficient in any way :D
Well, here's an example. There was a game where TheViper started with a market but didn't realize it, so he built a second one, then once he noticed he built a third so it would seem intentional. Then he built a wonder behind his opponent. But he also tried to play well.
It's one thing to analyze your mistakes and another to remember your conclusions during a game, but if you don't do the first you can't do the second!

I personally would have liked if T90 still went through the ages and upgraded his militia with blacksmith upgrades, but never upgraded the militia themselves. Ahh well
the one thing ive noticed in age of empires that i do find a bit odd, is that if you start a game with a tower while in the dark age, you can build them in the dark age.

So Militia are new counter to Crossbowmen ?
Swarming enemy with militia like that is pretty easy. Just the numbers alone, you have so many militia. On top of that, they are good at taking down buildings in decent speed.
How can you defend against rush?
Early scouting to see what buildings they are throwing up + walls.
@@oldmanyellsatscreen I mean defending against all those milita. Walling can be an option for these kind of troll games, but if T90 upgraded those militia to man at arms and so on then he would have a massive lead against his opponent and a full map control.
@@bencevarga3508 In that scenario, would probably go mass archers like the opponent did. I can't think of anything that's considered a harder counter to MAA than archers. The problem here was he was too exposed on multiple fronts, allowing t90 to hit and run his eco and avoid combat. Walls+archers could be used to secure your gold and stone with the longterm plan of getting to castle faster (all those infantry cost a lot of food), then retaking the rest of the map with castles and crossbows.
Alternatively, if you are playing a civ with an early infantry bonus, you could go for militia/maa of your own for a full on infantry war!

Idea for a custom game mode: two players. Both have an indestructibly walled off area in their base. One starts with an item that they need to put in the other player's area before a timer runs out. Then the roles are immediately reversed, with both players sending the item back and forth until somebody doesn't manage to put the item in the other player's area. A bit like tennis, really.
Game mode title: age of umpires.
