    Had mine done on Thursday morning. I was overthinking it,such a big baby lol! It was painless and so simple. They stated I would have pain after the procedure but it's going on 72 hours (it's now Saturday morning) and absolutely no pain whatsoever. I guess everyone is different. My suggestion, as my Dr. stated, take your pain killer as soon as you get home after you eat. I did not experience any burning, no discomfort, the only thing I had to deal with was my eye kept running, it just was constantly tearing up. Everybody was concerned that I was in pain crying lol😅😄❤❤

    Had mine on Tuesday, when I got home the pain was excruciating but the doctor prescribed me some hyrdocodone and I fell asleep, woke up and pain was gone. Maintain your eye drops and you should be good!

    I did lasik extra with cross-linking procedure. I went well, then after the softlens bandage is taken off, it become worst and get scar. Now I put on my glasses again. My doctor didn't explain what happened and why is that happened 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Would you need to wear a patch. For photophobia after the surgery. I currently have Keratoconis and it’s significantly reduced my VA. I’m an optometry student so was always aware of the types of procedures to treat. But I’ve also started getting really immense photophobia. And was wondering if this is common after the surgery too.

      Yes they advised me to protect from the sun by wearing shades / sunglasses. Just got my other eye done and both were pretty sensitive to light.

    I had signs of keratoconus in my right eye but i got crosslinking done on both, currently 4 days after and the pain is slowly getting better.

    Just had cross linking done in my left eye on Monday which wasn't painful but was uneasy. Following the surgery, I felt pain only till the night and by next day there was no pain. The doctor put a contact lens on my eye(which he said is a protection) that he will supposedly remove a week later after the surgery

      @@1234Gabster Well, the day of the surgery it was kinda hard to open both eyes open like I normally do but as from the following day, I was able to open both eyes with more ease. I was able to use both eyes but mostly the other eye. By now I don't feel any discomfort or irritation of some sort but still have to frequently put the prescribed in my eye

      @@VivekKumar-ir1eg It was less clear following the operation for several weeks but it gradually improved to the level of vision I had before the operation. Now my vision isn't blurry/hazy(maybe a little at time) In my case during the first 2 months vision did get blurry/ hazy after little screen use. Did I answer your question?

    The hospital billed my insurance 171K and insurance covered 99% of it. I only paid out of pocket 1.3K not too bad

    Best things I've ever done for my eyes I was one of the lucky ones that saw improvement on visio.... because remember people this surgery is to prevent not to improve your vision 😌

      @@eatmypapaya my doctor told me that my case is a very mild one.but he says if i wait for more than 3 years,i will have to do a graft.he told me that i can still avoid wearing lenses,provided that i have this done soon enough

    I took my painkiller little late and regretted that as it takes time for it to kick in. I also had a very uncomfortable 2-3 days. But overall it's not exactly PAINFUL.

      @@aviemore907 my doctor told me it would be blurrier than usual for a couple of weeks. After that threshold my vision went back to what it was before the surgery. Due to my keratoconus i use scleral lenses.

      @@Anjali-vj8uo yes well I am not going for any CXl in my left until my blinded right is sorted out first. Remember it could've gone the other way for you with cross-linking, it's a bit risky. I value my vision more than halting keratoconus.

      @@aviemore907 advancing keratoconus can impair your vision a lot. So cross linking is a simple and effective procedure done by many that has helped greatly in the treatment for keratoconus! Of course, please speak to your Ophthalmologist on the best approach!

    Hey I’ve have been super sensitive to light for over a year now, I’m getting cross linking surgery next month and was wondering can cxl fix the sensitivity to light later on after doing the surgery?

      @@lylep9076 Where did you get the surgery done? I just did my right eye done last Thursday, and I got my left eye done first a month ago. I barely experienced any pain afterwards. I did have a little bit of burning sensation the night of, but by the next day I was good. The burning sensation was about 6/10.

    I had cxl a year ago and my eyes are still blurry and feels real thick sometime. I went to my doctor and they said it might be dust that collects in my eyes when I’m sleep but that doesn’t seem right. It’s been a year and I don’t know what to do. I regret getting cxl.

      Me too, I got it last year in August. My vision seem clear once every couple of weeks but it's blurry most of the time. Sometime I think it's getting worse 😭

    Should someone limit screen time specially some weeks or months after cross linking or should they do so all throughout the rest of their lives? Or is it okay for someone to not do this after the surgery? Can someone please enlighten me about this aspect, please?

      Just a patient but my doctor told me its okay to use my phone and I haven’t had any trouble. Just got my second eye done 3 days ago.

    it hurts bad .. hot sauce in the eye dont compare to the pain you feel... its a deep eye ball pain .. then it depends how you heal too... beware you will be extremely sensitive to light after until your epi heals

My eyes just tear up alot, but today it's much better regarding my eyes watering all day. I can't relate to the others regarding the horrendous pain. My eyes don't even itch or have a sensation,just blurry

      Because they use numbing drops during your procedure, you will not feel pain. However, the recovery afterwards will cause you to experience pain, and discomfort.

    Damn, idk how they will make me stay still, im a lil bitch when it comes to my eyes, im scared that my eyes will get dry and they force it open so ima be trying to blink the whole surgery, im also scared of the light, im really sensitive to light already lol, i cant keep my eyes open really long during a eye exam so im so scared ima be a horrible person to work on 😭

      @@adamtaheri1036 welltbh it wasent so bad, i didint feel anything, and i did want to blink a lot because im not good with eye drops but they have sum in your eye to open it up, but you dont feel it dry up or anything, and i had read that it hurt after the surgery, but i didint feel any pain after the surgery, its just annoying not being able to use the right eye, the day of surgery tho it dose get really watery, but no pain at all, idk if it’s common to not feel pain tho, cause all the vids ive seen say it hurts

      @@aviemore907 im not sure about the terminology but basically they scrapped my cornea, put some yellow liquid in my eye and they put a light on top of me that i had to look at, it didint take long at all, it didint hurt at all, my eyes didint get dry, the light wasent unbearable, they gave me some numbing drops along with 5 more i had do use every day, took some pain killers like they told me too, and i never felt it at all, you just have to be careful with light, and make sure u dont scratch it sleeping, or get it infected, but i think they had me taking a lot of painkillers, so thats why i didint feel anything the whole time, i seen videos and they said it hurt bad so i was ready asf, and i never felt it, if u have any more questions ask and ill try to clarify or go in more detail
