    Thank you. I tried following the steps on a different video and they had me using the wrong tool to do this task. Your video on the other hand was clear, concise, and informative. Thank you.

    A little tip, after you slice your model in half, save the project. After you make more changes, save again with a descriptive name or add a number or something to the name. That way you can go back to certain stages without doing it all over again.

    Holy shit this is the most useful thing ever. The pegs are the best in my opinion, because they already serve as a registry point, just rotate to align.

    I realize this video is about a year old, but I wanted to let you know how much it helped me. I have these HUGE models that I have to print on my Phenom printer and I still have to cut them up. The pegs are great because it will remove a lot of the guess work. I just wish that I can figure out how to cut certain parts of a model without using a plane. Thanks again! P.S. MAKE SURE you have "Create New Object" selected when creating the peg =. Also when you are changing the size of the peg, you have to change all 3. for me it doesnt change them all. cheers!

    Is there a way to adjust the depth/length of the pin?
    What I am actually looking to do is to make a longer channel in both halves to add a reinforcing rod instead of just an alignment pin.

    • @angelicalanz2
      @angelicalanz2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am no expert but i have seen that you can select the pin, then "edit", "transform" and you will see/change the pin dimensions.. hope it helps :)

    Any tips for me ? ...Instead of using "Aligning Pins", i want to create "Magnet holes"...And just to make it a bit more complex...I need to place 2 for the Original position...and another 2 on another position, so now the model has 2 positions to be placed...

      SANTUBE 3D do you think it’s better to make two holes and print the pin separately for strength? That way I could print the pins @ 100% fill.

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fix'n Things two would be better but don’t print at 100 infill, it’s a waste of material. 20 percent is more then enough

    When i drag that pin to add, its not sit on the eight place.. what to do?

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Click on the model then click edit then transform then it should let you move the pin.

  • @hampuswahlgren5952
    @hampuswahlgren5952 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My aligning pin just sits on the round side and not the flat one. I cant get it to rotate the correct way :/

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to select it in the items box then you can rotate them.

    • @hampuswahlgren5952
      @hampuswahlgren5952 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SANTUBE Not sure what you mean. I can kinda rotate it but i cant get the cube to stay flat in the middle of my object. I can only get the corner if you know what i mean.

    there is any way to split a model in 2 or more parts without a straight cut? ex: cutting in goku`s hair line

    • @SANTUBE

    Note... Never use cylinders for pins.. always use square. easier to line up and not rotate around trying to get the shells to line up. Another note... Just leave a pin in one side. No need for 3 objects. Just 2. Combine a pin and one part of the model.

    • @rpsabates
      @rpsabates 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You didnt watch the whole video or listen to the details. The first part he wanted to make the model have the ability to rotate at the waist, which is why the pin is separate and a cylinder. The nest part of the video he covers stationary pins and that you should use a square for these.
