Just getting out of the high school bass tournament world (boat captain for my son) and back into kayak tournament fishing. So many bad examples out there for the kids coming up related to honesty and integrity. I appreciate you demonstrating both here and setting a good example. Keep up the good work and great content.
It’s funny how in a Jacob wheeler video who is a professional bass fisherman who also puts videos on TH-cam I think I saw your kayak when he was driving down the lake and I was like hey that’s Greg Funny that one of the two of my favorite fishing TH-cam or’s are the same place at the same time
I had a frog you could of used and some gear for bed fishing, including the Big Bites Special. Nice video. It was a tough day for sure. I had 1 fish by almost 11 also. I see my name in the top 10, finally made it in your video 😂😂😂.
Props for calling director alot of people wouldnt have done that man your a literal poster MAN for what your supposed to do in tournaments #BlanchardBigguns
Sorry you didn't have a winning day, but this video is a winner. I learn as much from you when you don't catch fish as when you do. Listening to your thought process is absolutely the best! Your honesty puts you way above the pack. There is always the next tournament.
So much respect that you showed the whole catch. It was obvious that it was unintentional, some days you win some days you lose. I'll also add that I love that whether you tear them up or you don't, you are candid about your thought process, you'll get em next time Greg, tight lines and stay safe.
What I love about your channel is the reality aspect when it comes to fishing. Thanks for all the hard work and keeping it real, Greg. Respect! "People will learn more from your failures than they will from your successes"- Unknown.
Tough Tourney, Greg. Glad you're one of the "Good Guys", when it comes to Honesty and Integrity. (I fish in "Stump-Laden" lakes all the time... Haven't broke a prop yet, as I don't "clip-down" the drive at the back. Maybe I'm just Lucky?).
Tough tourneys are tough, even tougher when a fish gets denied, but it's how you carry yourself and how honorable you are when people aren't looking that defines character. Its also important that all of us in the competitive kayak work follow your example if we are to take this to the level that we want this to go.
Man, you're AWESOME! I love watching your talent as a fisherman, but I sincerely appreciate your humility. You dont edit out foul hooks, broken props and down the scorecard tournaments. You share it all: good and bad. As a new kayak fisherman, I really appreciate it, and you have a loyal subscriber because of it. Adam
Great video- Very relate-able! Anybody who has fished tournaments has had those days. I fished my but off in one tournament and after 4 hours of no bites, on a day when everyone was struggling like crazy-I got a huge 4 pounder that would have put me in the top three- Except he flopped out of my boat before I was able to record him....Ill never forget that moment!!!! Thanks for the great video very cool...
Welcome to Fork, where hearts are broken every day! lol. We have a place on Fork. It’s a battle to catch em. The Florida strain bass are nowhere near as aggressive as other strains. That coupled with pressure and an abundance of natural forage to eat, it’s tough figuring out what artificial lure will trick them on any given day. Yes, tons of water snakes. Every shoreline is full of them. Also, the fish you were seeing jumping were probably turtles. The lake is loaded with them and it took me a while to decipher surface movements. Sorry the trip wasn’t what you’d hoped but glad you made it down here!
Dang Greg it sucks that you had such bad luck. I'm glad you kept being so optimistic about it though. Oh and that was awesome of you to be honest about that fish. 👊👍
Greg...boy do I know the feeln’. When it starts to go south, it can be so hard to shake. Extreme challenge to anyone’s patience. Appreciate you keeping it clean no tantrums and you kept on fishing. Great video dude. Winning will come back around.
Kudos to you for reporting that fish the way you did. I know there are some Anglers out there that would not do that. Fortunately for most of us in the plastic boat fleet I think most of us would do as you did and take our Lickin!
I would of used a brush hog for the top water if I didn't have a frog. Thanks for the honesty on the fouled hooked bass. You the man. Dont think to many people would of done that. You should get fisherman of the year for that.
That was a little tough to watch. But, that's the reality of fishing. Some days are better than others! regardless, Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next video! -D
Greg, I totally felt your pain. I fished that tournament. I pre-fished from Wednesday to the day of the tournament. Great video! I wished my video had turned out as good as yours. It was a big lake and location location location was key. You inched me out on the scoreboard. I am on the scoreboard right behind you. "Cristian Astorga." I fished out of a Native Titan. If you ever wanna fish Texas, hit me up!" Great video again!
ok this will date me (I'm 70 Y O ) back in 1979 we went out to Lake Fork when it was still filling up, incredible amount of old growth forest that was flooded ....and small purpose built stock tanks full of florida bass that were growing up and flooded as it filled up.... TPWL did an incredible job of creating a Bass Paradise......their present paradise is Naconishe with incredible sized fish.....
Greg that was awesome. My wife who never fishes loved your honesty on that big fish.Seriously, you are one super guy.would love to meet sometime. Good luck next time.
Makes you a winner In my book my friend. Tough day but we all have them. Excellent sportsmanship and an inspiration to us kayak anglers. Keep it up brother.
really appreciate the REALITY of fishing. Gotta have faith and keep hope alive. Attitude is everything. You'll get 'em next time. At least you are out, fishing, instead of "shelter-in-place".
Greg, really great call on the foul hooked fish. I know that's tough but really appreciate you doing the right thing. Can't wait for the next episode. 513
Never fun to have a bad tourney. But very nice to see you let TD know how fish was caught. I’m sure there are more than a few folks that would have sent it in without saying a word.
Man, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. The good thing is you got to experience a great fishery like Lake Fork. Hopefully you had a good time. I enjoy that you show the good times fishing and the not so good times. I know were on Stay At Home here in California, so hopefully you will be able to get on the water some time soon. Stay safe
It’s a super tough lake with a lot of big bass. Especially when I was there this past October the weather was insane and a lot of pressure. Love the tournament videos.
Hey man still enjoyed the video. Part of what’s fun to watch in these videos is your decision making and how you approach tough fishing. Sure it doesn’t alway work out, but like you said that’s fishing. Keep it up man!
Greg, glad you finally posted it. Yeah man it was a challenge on that lake. The area you fished on tournament day gets hammered so much. I stayed away from that area. You really did need a frog. Appreciate your honesty on that bedding female. Good luck the rest of the year! Tight lines
Good job ,Thanks for bringing us along , honesty is always the best policy , but you’ll be ready the next time Lake fork comes up on your list , cool video 👍
Glad you made it back safe, wind doesn't help as well, i hope u think about your go to lures, chatter bait helps u alot, plus you fish with it alot, good luck!
The bite definitely changed on tournament day unless you were targeting bed fish. The stagers pushed back a little after the sun came out and all the boats arrived. I had to throw a Tx rigged baby brush hog in California 420 as well to catch all my 15 inchers in the afternoon! lol
Great video!! You a great man many out there would of just submitted the fish and not said anything. I love your honesty and glad to see good people still exist!!!
Man this was hard to watch but bass fishing can humble the best like Greg Blanchard and KVD 👍🏻...I would love to fish Lake Fork and see of this northern boy can catch those southern giants....great video Greg 👍🏻
Man, that sucks but unfortunately it is what it is. Good on you for abiding by the rules. Shows a lot of character and who you are as an angler. Proud New Yorker, here! Stay safe, my man.
Hey Greg I'm sure you will get a win next time and i just want to tell that because of you that i will start fighting local tournaments because of you thanks for the inspiration.
Lake Fork can be brutal man. I have a kayak tournament there tomorrow we are having to do things weird with the virus thing going on. No meetings in person, drive through style pay in for entry fees and weigh in and payouts will not be together either. I’ve still never put a limit together on that lake and it seems crazy being one the most famous lakes in Texas. So hoping for some bites out there tomorrow.... stay safe and healthy sir. When this virus stuff finally comes to an end it would great to have you come back to fish another event in Texas and maybe I’ll get to meet you.
I was excited for this one. Man we’ve all had those days! Then you hook up to a giant and it’s foul hooked. Frikin typical right! Thanks for grinding and working hard to give us great content Greg!
Cool video. You were in the right spot just a tough break. The pocket that MDJ won his round in MLF was right behind you at some points which I'm sure you knew.
“ I did not mike long that fish I promise you” - Greg Blanchard lololol
HUEcantRAP lol
Exact comment I was gonna make

Greg you are human
Integrity is everything. Mad respect because 20” fish would have made a lot of folks ignore the rules
Kudos to you for having integrity. You won in my book 👏.

I know several people have said this already, but I certainly respect the integrity, my man. Best wishes for your future fishes.
Fishing wouldn't be so addicting if we didn't have days like this!
so true, Matt!
Greg props to you integrity that kinda sportsmanship is awesome gives me hope for our twist country state of affairs in this crazy times
True sportsman Greg, this is why I watch you work.
Honesty goes along way! My hats off to you for that! Great video! Tough conditions but good fish! Can’t wait till the next video!
I had a frog you could of used and some gear for bed fishing, including the Big Bites Special. Nice video. It was a tough day for sure. I had 1 fish by almost 11 also. I see my name in the top 10, finally made it in your video 😂😂😂.
you're always up in the liked comments tho lol
Greg Blanchard been here for 3-4 years took me long enough lol.
You know your in Texas when u drop shot a brush hog 😂
Props for calling director alot of people wouldnt have done that man your a literal poster MAN for what your supposed to do in tournaments #BlanchardBigguns
What a rollercoaster of emotion that bed fish saga was.... I laughed, I cried. I cried again.
haha, so did i
Love that you drink Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. My hometown beer! Love it
No bed fishing equipment ? A hook and a senko!

You won in my books just for your honesty. Keep making great videos
I found your channel a short time ago and find myself returning for more videos to watch. Your my kind of fisherman to watch.
I work for U-Haul. I just wanted to say Thanks! for using our pickups!! :)
This dude is the goat man because of this guy I really picked up fishing as my hobby

Chips and Dip on deck...Pressing Play right ..Now 😎
Seeing this honesty make me so happy. What a great person you are for the sport of fishing.
Good job overall get em next time

Even when you have bad luck it’s still fun to watch...thx Greg
Greg, it's good to see integrity on the water. Character goes a long way. Love the channel. I look forward to seeing you out there next season!
Just a brutal day but also glad to see the honesty

I think I'm balancing out last years incredible fishing haha jk. Hope that shoulder is getting better OLA
@@GregBlanchardFishing what type of kayak do you use in tournaments
I love your honesty.
Greg. Thanks for bringing integrity to a sport that doesn’t always have a lot of it. You’re the man.
