I think it's fun if you build edison decks specifically for this format, maybe you could try a real edison deck at the beginning of every video and then move to a more optimized one
You could try Edison Era decks/cards but with the modern banlist - since you're already subjected to that sometimes with like the 1 of Herald of Orange Light. Things like 3x Malicious, Plague/Zombies, 3x Gorz/Trag, and things like Reasoning and Monster gate are at 3 in the MD Format. Just try and show off the power of these old cards when unlocked to max copies, even into the powerhouse modern decks.

Use edison card pool and banlost, when possible, but create custom decks. You can make a dragon turbo draw engine to get the fossil dyna and thunder king deck.
I hope more people catch onto this because it means between this, self-TK and masochist we're essentially taking the format into our own hands as players and deciding what we want the meta to look like
Tbf i got to master 1 with dyna barrier statue stun twice in a row during se format so this deck isn't far off from that. You just need the spells like moon mirror shield so big monsters don't kill dyna, maybe scrapiron scarecrow. Also, no one plays battle traps in modern meta decks.
You should try the Dark Calling Rock Fiend deck since it gets to play 3 dyna and the Koa'ki's which are better in modern than in edison (I think lol). its very slow but maybe a good option if sticking with the theme of edison only decks?
Actual Edison ladder would be far more diverse. This deck building is a product of it having to play an excess of stun cards to compete with moderns decks.
Unfortunately I think the answer here are floodgates, I know it sucks, but such is life. Maybe you can try and run some gravekeepers mixed with something else, that way it's not "play every floodgate under the sun, and hope they don't have the out"
What would you even want out of a Toon Edison deck? They didn’t have Toon Kingdom, Comic Hand, Toon BLS, or any of the halfway decent cards. It’s kind of just tribute summoned monsters with downsides. It was a really boring deck.
@@MartimMarques-nk4uu people tried to make toons viable for over a decade and got nowhere. how much more are people supposed to try before theyre allowed to give up and accept the fact that toons are bad?
@@uteriel282 I know that Toons are generally useless, but there are some interesting cards, for example: toon table of contents, toon dark magician girl, toon cannom soldier. That's why we will try again.

You could try modern version of Edison decks. As long as you keep the spirit of the deck. (Like Blackwings that isnt just a link climb deck)

a couple of days ago in MD there was an event with a 2010 banlist 😢 it wouldve been cool if u catched it

Yeah I think it's better if you just play with the edison card pool / ban list and just try to beat the modern decks with custom lists

As a Purrely player, I find foes rarely have counters for when you eat their cards.
