    I also know and recognize all these exact locations in both cities. 1 other major difference is Taxes are A lot Higher in Minnesota, they built a shit ton of new multi-million dollar stadiums and the city spent a ridiculous amount of money rebuilding a bunch of new buildings in the bad area's of both North and South Minneapolis.

      Well yes, "Twin Cities" originally applied to opposite banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, and thus people from neighboring St. Paul have disowned Minneapolis in terms of Twin City nomenclature.

    The difference between these two cities is who settled them. Milwaukée is a very German city, Minneapolis a very Scandinavian city.
    History has shown how differently the groups approached life.

    I miss MPLS. It's gotten way worse since I left. Always been some rough ares but MPLS has some really decent ates as well. Just gotten be mindful and know where you are at so you don't get jacked

      Minneapolis is much more socialist than most cities, and as such street sweepers, people who pick trash up off the sidewalks, etc. are much more broadly applied there than in places like Philadelphia or Chicago or Milwaukee etc. which are more capitalist and as such have more neighborhood-tax-ratio-based street cleaning budgets.

    Interesting. Two totally different vibes. Milwaukee is definitely poorer but has the older Victorians, & families that have been there for 100 years. Minneapolis is more cosmopolitan, more businesy feeling... definitely colder in the winter.

      Now, as far as how bad 27 and Kilbourn USED TO BE, thats a different story. It was awful in the early 90s. Now its this half gentrified mix of crackheads and college students 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      @@josheternal some places didn't like chicken man. I lived behind the Wendy's lol idk I know two blocks east was good. I lived there in 2010. I lived on Auer from 2011 till I moved here few years ago. I stayed on Hampton growing up. My grandpa owned the bar on corner Claudes on Hampton lol I stayed in house next to it and use to take shots of sprite. I've moved all over tho. My oldest son born in 2001 I moved to 11th Lapham and 7th Grant, and 13th Arthur. So lived Southside hood too lol. Either way I didn't have no problems. Moved my mom few years ago before she died from 27th Hadley. Obviously u got be smart. Use to walk with my kids and my friends where she lived 35th Cherry. I am happy for having a diverse family and my kids experience the same. Unlike whit folks here they got read books on how to teach your kids not to be racist I was like naw just send them to an all blk daycare like I did lol My kids don't see color cus we all different colors and been shown so many different things. We will never judge a person because of it. Wish more parents were like that tho. I got love for my city no matter how bad it can get. Just part of the experience there.

    Minneapolis hoods sweet af. I grew up on the northside of Milwaukee and now live on the westside of Chicago. Being in Minneapolis I swear I never felt more at ease in my life. And since I see some people trying to talk numbers and statistics: Last year we had 189 murders while Minneapolis only had 82. So far, this year 2021 we've had 42 murders while Minneapolis only had 22. We have double the amount of murders and violence, its not even close. You gotta keep in mind we're closer to Chicago than we are to Minnesota.

    My dad lived in Northwest Milwaukee during the late 80s-early 90s. After he got back he briefly lived in North Minneapolis before raising me and my family in New Hope. To this day he can't say a single good thing about Milwaukee. Even said at one point that Milwaukee's inner city makes our inner city look like Disneyland and said he always feels stress-free in any part of Minneapolis bc it's nothing compared to the stress of living in Milwaukee.

      I've lived in both city's. I'm from Milwaukee though. And I can tell you Milwaukee is 100x worse.
      I'm 33 y.o I was just shot in my leg a couple years ago while walking my dog minding my business in whats considered the "nicer area" of the city.
      I've been shot at 3x in Milwaukee and thankfully only hit the one time. I've lost more friends to gun violence then I can count. Just the other day we had 45 shootings overnight.

    Spent a lot of time in both cities but anyone noticed how many cameras are in Minneapolis? I swear they are like on every single street light and when you get downtown they are on every single corner every single building you are constantly on camera at all times.

    I've lived in both cities. Minneapolis is Def bigger, Way More White Collar, Corporate feeling, passive aggressive type attitude and bigger white collar suburbs. Much newer age style glass buildings. Milwaukee is gritty rust belt, Great Lakes, Blue Collar, Working mans town where the folks like their $2 Schlitz, Pabst and a good deal. More of a straight forward, straight shooting type attitude from people in MKE. Much older cream brick type buildings with a lot of rusty iron

      I've lived in both cities too. Moved from Sacramento to Milwaukee then to Minneapolis and now residing in Woodbury. Milwaukee is diffinitely more gritty and grimey where as Minneapolis is more modern and forward thinking. Always though Minneapolis is pretty much the Seattle of the midwest. But as you mentioned, the Milwaukee metro doesn't even compare to corporate friendly Twin Cities in size and opportunities.

    I'm from Milwaukee. It definitely has a grittier feel too it. Everything is close with a growing population. We have atleast 500,000 people in our city. Minnesota is cool and a sleeper city in the sense of it being HOOD. Minnesota def has Heavy hitters. Milwaukee will always have the grittier feel, being so close to Chicago, st.louis, Indiana we get we are almost like A HUB for relocating in the MIDEWEST with our great benefit programs for women and children

      I live in south Minneapolis about 5 blocks from where the third precinct burned. A lot of of stuff is still boarded up in the hard hit areas but they have finally stated getting debris moved out. The target and grocery store by my house are back up and running. My favorite neighborhood bar was burned to the ground :(

    The difference is, The ENTIRE northside of the mil is hood, the south dont fuck around either, but its a little smaller in comparison.

    Ayyee my hometown mpls...northside off Broadway...then southside off Lake St....yeah thats some of the hoods of the twin cities....it use to be sweet there back in the 80s-90s...now not so much
