I just took a basic skills course for my very first time and they put me on a Honda Rebel. I struggled through the entire course because I couldn't maintain the friction zone due to my small hands (I actually have to wear Youth XL). No one bothered to mention to me that it could be for this reason. I only figured it out later. I like the idea of learning how to do it anyway without the adjustment so you know for any other bike. Thanks for the reassurance that it isn't just me!

You're welcome 🤗 Since doing this video I have defs gotten used to the leavers and don't have any issues with them now. There are some really good suggestions in the comments here if you do want to try some mods 😀

I'm an older guy with a clutch hand injury and in need of a short distance between bars and levers. Some 4cms max.
So purchased adjustable levers and found a slight improvement from the stock levers even when adjusted to closest setting of 4. Just a saving of1cm to achieve a 5cms gap.
Having studied them in detail I decided to strip the levers and reshape the "cam and block" to allow for an additional 1cm saving for the lever to the bars at setting 4. Gap now is 4cm and useable.
    Job done.
Not sure why manufacturers think having adjustable levers that make such little improvement over the standard levers are worth the £50 plus a pair?

That's cool! Thanks for sharing 🤗 Was this on a Honda Rebel 500?
In the end I decided to get used to riding with the normal levers so I would be able to ride other bikes too but it's good to know there are still options to bring them in closer 😀 I'm not sure I could reshape them though. The levers I tried were between $200 and $300, just not worth it for me

@@andymoto It was on a Moto Guzzi Strada. The 4 position levers were still too far away from the bars so were modified. Great operation and comfort now.

Cool video, so silly about the adjustable levers not coming closer. Especially with regards to you specifying that you needed them to!
Also, I'm a bloke about your height w hands similar size - it's rough! 😅

Haha, it is rough being short. Thankfully after a while riding I have since got use to using the stock levers.

I have a 2021 SE and the clutch is so light on it. It’s the easiest clutch pull I have ever felt on a bike

That's so cool! I'd love to see how it compares to the earlier models. If there were any Rebels at dealers then I would go and see how heavy the slipper clutch is on one of the display bikes in the showroom! I've gotten used to mine now but it took a while and I was worried at first

Great video, thanks for sharing your experinace!! I myself wear xxs gloves with my Honda Rebel and found similar issues. I ended up getting the MZS levers due to their short length. I adjusted them so that they dont go out farther than my 2 fingers. This means I can pull them straight to the bar using said 2 fingers without interrupting the rest of my hand. Highly recommend.

That's great! 🤗 I'm glad you've found some that work for you. To clarify, can you pull the lever all the way into the grip using 2 fingers while the other 2 fingers keep holding the grip? I'd love to know the measurements from outside of the lever to the back of the grip of you ever get a chance. I'll have to look into them. Thanks for letting me know, very intersting, thanks for commenting.😊
