Bridging the history of Thurso: Ellan bridge || Scottish History|| North Coast 500

There are five bridges found in Thurso and this one links medieval Thurso to 19th century Thurso.
The rich history of Thurso is divided by this bridge that is much closer to the mouth of the River Thurso. Currently, people walking to and from work, dog walkers, tourists and other people use this bridge but many have also gone underneath this bridge (including me).
In the distance on the Ellan bridge you can see the main bridge that can be very busy with traffic. There is another by the boating pond in the park and if you keep walking up the river to the upper bridge. Whilst the last and fifth bridge is near to the high school so trains can pass underneath to reach the most northerly train station.

The town of Thurso is always changing and evolving. There is a little road that I cross at the end of this video that has now developed a sink hole that is being investigated... 😮
