@@DestinationJackpotWonderful. I'm so thankful you leaned on her about the 'what if' scenerios for comping as I had a lot of questions around that and she answered well. The longer you stay the greater the edge of the House's probability. My only question is this. How would one put together a 1-5 year game plan to efficently maximize comps and to level up each tier so that you're maximizing your entertainment? For the majority of us, Nevada and Atlantic City are 1-4x a year trips and even putting in the time is only going to get you so far.
Having a host that is available that long is great. Our host always change and we have to reintroduce, look at play, blah blah and then we just forget them. This was helpful any comp is good comp thanks

This was a great vlog, explaining how the system works. Many people just don’t get it. I have Hosts but very seldom use them anymore, marketing offers are enough for me. I don’t require any special treatment. Years ago the system was different, my Hosts were amazing but since the players clubs were introduced, the system has changed. The one thing I will never do is pay for a room which I haven’t done in over 40 years. Thank you for this video,I hope the people who have questions watch this. Sue

This was a great helpful video. I'm going next Tuesday and staying at New York New York. I was comp the hotel. I'm going to start going 3 times a year if I can get my hotel comp. I just finished helping my two daughters with college and vehicles. My turn to spend money on myself lol.
Was great to hear this info. Reminded me of some of the ins and outs I have forgotten over the last 27 years of going to Vegas and talking to hosts. The last 4 years we have been staying at the Bellagio and have noticed how its gotten harder to get Platinum status.
Excellent information to be sharing! I see so many people take advantage of comps and then get mad at the casino and/or host when their comps/offers decline. My only suggestion is to not think of your host as a "friend". It's a business relationship and it can be helpful to keep that perspective.
This is really interesting and has me thinking. The last time I was at NYNY I had the best interaction ever with the cashier when I checked out. I was even thinking how impressive and caring she was! Made my day. So I think she looked at my play without me even knowing she was looking at my play. I love NYNY but my comps are not great as I am a low roller. Like really low. Cannot wait for my next trip!

All the play over the years never once got approached for any comps let alone a drink!! I usually do not drink if playing anyway…. Went on a cruise and was rather impressed with the comp Steak House, Japanese Restaurant and Free Cruises after only burning up about 1000 dollars of my own money into the machines but consistent less than Hand Pay 600 to 900 payouts kept us playing slots about every hour the Casino was open!!! So Free Balcony 7 days with free drink package for a 7 day Alaska Cruise is booked. All we pay is taxes gratuities and parking so total 7 day trip costs 1100 for 2 of us includes Food …. Less than driving vacation buying gas and 6 nights in hotels kind of tripping!!!!!
Hey Shannon! Question. When they say "hours spent" on a machine. Does that mean they rate higher if you spend more hours on a single machine or your total hours for all the machines you play?

I had a host at Luxor and when I tried to book a room or promotion at another MGM property, he told me I had to contact a host at that casino. He was no help. I gambled alot during the pandemic and received great comps. How far do you go back to factor in your coin-in & coin-out? BTW I used to be Gold and I’m now Pearl.
You know what? I did not realize it’s the time spent on the machine and not the amount…..no wonder I get comped so well at the Virgin…..I stay there a couple times a year…..and just love that place! ❤❤ ❤
And always remember to see if your card is being read. I have noticed, (a bit late) that when you hit a bonus and you are getting more free spins, the machine will stop reading your card if that "spin" button is idle, by not being hit by the player.
Great video. Going to Vegas in July and haven’t been there in more than 15 yrs. I do play at Beau Rivage so booked MGM property. Question is if husband and wife are Pearl and Gold if we link our accounts would we combine those to a higher level??
I’m curious. When she says that “her” bosses look to see if the host “overcomps”, for the year but what about a “Platinum” members over 400k Tier Credits who never gets a limousine, never gets any “additional” F&B, never gets an upgrade, does she get to “overcomp” her friends at my expense as long as it evens out for the year for all guests with a specific host.
I think she means over comps any player is the way I understood it. If your platinum with over 400k tier points and getting no F&B offers I would for sure be talking to a host, we have that in our app without even taking to a host and others know do as well. If your host isn’t getting you a limo and your are platinum with 400k points I would ask a manager for another host for sure.
@@DestinationJackpot I’m getting the standard 4 nights comped, I had up to $1,500.00 Free Play, however, because I visited twice in December for the “Holiday” shopping spree and just came in for the day, my Free Play dropped to $200. I’ve eaten at all MGM properties and charged everything to the room and have asked via telephone before checking out if they could comp anything or everything and answer was no. The “host” that denied me in December arguably has to be the worst. In all seriousness, as a Platinum with well over 400k this past year, was denied a limousine to/from the airport on every trip. It is true, a “host” at Bellagio wants you to play at Bellagio, a host at Aria wants you to play at Aria. Knowing that Pearl’s get better treatment, I’d never play a penny past 200k! This year, I’ll reduce my play to make Gold to get the free rooms and no resort fee. In the end, MGM lost out on good customer.
I can rationalize comps and free play as a rebate on losses. I get massage, golf, buffets, concert tix, rooms. Smart players can come out close to even every year with a great relationship with a host.. They will trade your cash for services all day long. Soft comps are company owned services and easier to get, Hard comp is anything other like Taylor Swift concert, raiders game not in owned suite etc...you gotta lose a ton to get a hard comp.

Wow,my last trip to nyny I fell over a ramp and tubing on casino floor late a used , cost me thousands in rotator cuff surgery when I got home . Told numerous workers offered no help. Plus lost alot!
Trying to play the game so the value my "free" room, comps, match play etc arent too much less than my losses. I enjoy gambling and casino living, but I'm not going to lose too much more than the retail cost of those things trying to get them for "free." So I'm never going to be a high roller and that's fine with me, but oddly enough if you hit the tier credit multiplier days and take advantage of offers it's really not that hard to get decent rewards without losing too much. Well on my way to Diamond Elite at Caesars and almost 60% of my tier points have come from matching points or the multipliers.
Gold status is to hard to reach now without making many trips out over the course of a year and losing a lot of money. It used to be more obtainable but unless you come often, pearl is about only status that most people will reach. A video on what extras you can get and how to get them with one status below gold (or its equivalent at other chains) might be interesting. In other words, can you push to get some additional credits at check out with pearl status even without an assigned host? A guide on how to do that would be interesting as it will be applicable to way more people than those with gold status (or higher) and a personal host.

I have heard you still can maybe get some additional amounts off your bill. But guidance on how to do this? What to ask for? Who to approach to get the most off? How much can you possibly get off depending on play on that given trip even though you are not gold tier? This is going to include the majority of players since they have now made gold and above so hard to achieve. I actually don't think it reasonable to get to this level anymore unless you are regularly using a tie in credit card and/or are coming out to Vegas many times over the course of the year.
My comps went way down for 2024 because my 8+ night stay in September took place during the 2023 cyberattack and I couldn’t do my usual slot play. It really hurt players who can only travel to Las Vegas 1-2 times a year.
We were there right at the end of that. Our host helped us with that and I think we did get our points. But yes that was a bad deal, have you talked to them about it?

The issue is simple. People want to be treated like they just aren't some number in a system. It's very hard to justify NOT giving someone comps when they just lost the 1500 they brought to gamble with....all at their property. Some do not understand how much you really gotta play through to even think about getting a host attention. Some DO understand, are playing a lot, LOSING a lot, yet still don't get any extras. If anything, comps are declining and have been for a while now, yet inflation has caused people to spend more per trip. I feel like Vegas is now a slippery slope that most people don't have the boots and traction to keep climbing.
Great video. Last NYNY trip which I normally do not stay at Tara took great care of me. Simply had to walk into her office which is in High Limit Slot area. Very busy lady on a Friday night! If anyone is wondering cruises work same. Usually your auto enrolled into there Players Club but cruises they work usually outside of the cruiseline itself. For instance I cruise with Norwegian. Norwegian's casino is run by Casinos at Sea which is a entirely different loyalty system that Norwegian runs right down to reservations. Have not paid for a cruise in years upon years due to cruise players club system. Anyhow it pays greatly to have a host. Easy to get all you have to do is talk to one. 99% of the time they have a separate office which has a sign or they are in a office in "High Limits". Usually they can offer things that the app or website do not. At worst its the same offer.
We are on a cruise now and just did an interview with a long time cruiser that will be coming out soon. Thank you for the tips, it is a whole other comp system to learn for sure. What is your favorite cruise line and ship?
Norwegian. They try to appeal to all age brackets. There larger ships have a great mini vegas vibe. There priced such the passengers tend to be sane. The boats while not small by any measure are small enough to go through the Panama Canal so I feel the boat size is perfect. Other then Norwegian I have done Princess once and to this day I could book for casino rate or comped depending. Both have great player club rewards that mostly come in the form of a free cabin or greatly discounted one. Since food and drink depending if you selected package is free they tend to comp based on game play specialty dining and spa mostly. Since your only talking about 300 slots maybe 8 tables the host knows everyone after the first night. I think its fun to since you see the same gamblers playing whole trip and make some great friends. Anyhow if you get sucked into cruising via casino comps you tend to stick with that cruise line no matter what so pick wisely! @@DestinationJackpot
Great video thanks. FYI, Tara said 1500 a day in Theo for a comp room? Only? She's packing that a lot. 1500 in "Theo" equates to 450-500 real dollars a night. Sorry but NO WAY is that even rack rate at NYNY. Also, the casino gets rooms at a reduced cost. Depending on the property casino gets rooms up to 50% less from the front of the house. This is fact not fake news. Tara said herself, 30-35% of Theo, you do the math. 1500 in Theo x 35% is $525 real dollars. By the way, 30-35% that's a fact, some host will go up to 40% of Theo depending on the situation. Tara I can tell is very nice and fun for sure. I would work with her if I was going to stay at NYNY. Im sure she was being careful and weeding out really low rollers. Again, great video for the masses. 🙏
I was in Vegas staying at the Venetian playing slots for 3 days, I was killing it. My host comes up to me while I’m playing and offers me a couple more nights for free. I said, what do you think I’m stupid!? I know you are comping me rooms food etc so I will lose my money back. Not a chance!! I got on the plane with pockets bulging with cash 😂😂

They work fine. I’m gold last year and almost gold again this year. Lots of mgm betting but they did a promotion once that was like 3X tier credits for every dollar spent on the app.
I can confirm, that no MGM Rewards desk would tell you exactly how many tier credits you earned any given day. Verified on 3 occassions, 3 different places. Also, hosts are hit and miss really, most of them don't want to do anything with you, if you are not American, who can and will fly there every 2-3 weeks or month to gamble.

Not sure who you're talking to, but I've had Rewards Desk members look up my play and do the math right in front of me to tell me how many credits I'm at in the day, especially when I'm rallying for the accelerator credit.
This does not change the fact, that this information is not readily available to them, and they are not to provide it. They COULD if they want to, yes. But most does not really care that much to go the extra mile. @@FlyLikeDove

She always comps us the 5th night since our offer is 4 nights! But this year we are starting out as Pearl 🥲 so this is so helpful for us. It’s so hard to make and keep Gold, so this was perfect timing since we will be in Vegas in March. After being platinum a few years ago I miss those perks, but Gold is the goal this year. Typically it’s $5 “ coin in “ for 1 point. In my local ca casino, it’s 20,000 pts to be highest tier. So you have to put through $100,000 in the machines to get to highest tier. Wow
??? Is there any conflict between the Host and the VIP check-in at the Hotel? I have been going to Planet Hollywood for 10 years and my Host booked me a suite for my Birthday. When I went to check in they did not give me the suite I was promised. The VIP at Planet Hollywood were extremely rude ends up they had the room available but said my play was not enough! Which is crazy ridiculous! I was in tears because I was expecting this room had friends coming and they made a fool out of me and just laughed when I walked out. Host got me suite at Harrahs but damage done by then. I also have a corporate group of 3000 people that book at Hollywood every year but after this I will definitely be going somewhere else. They were truly so mean and I had been so loyal to them for 10 years. It seemed to me it was the host they were trying to punish, but to do it they used me.
I’d much rather bet lower, say up to $3 and sit for hours and hours and hours. I used to have a host at Caesars when I’d visit 2 or 3 times a year pre cvid, he liked that I would sit all day if my daily bankroll allowed. Mostly I’d end up losing by the end of the week, but I didn’t care, I just wanted to play. After flying from the UK, my full goal was to play for as long as I could. I didn’t pay for a room for years. When I added up what I’d spent on the slots, it worked out what I’d spend on a room if I paid for it. So it’s a wash for me. Sometimes I’d get free play or a free buffet too. That was on a $300-500 a day gambling budget.
Do you mean Native American owned? I've also found that to be true. I've come to love Seminole Hard Rock - they still can be generous with comps even though their system is different.
Oh boy you gamblers who get stuck in these tier status comps. Just admit to yourself you want to feel special. Hosts are not your friend-no hotel employee is. It’s convenient I’ll give you that but their job is to get you to spend all your money including the money you win from them. I will say with your Theo score don’t use your card if you’re going to play for an hour before you leave for airport-so if you played 8 hours per day for 3 days then just played for an hour on day 4 as you leave it will screw up your Theo score. So don’t use your card for a quick play. This video is full of Casino industry propaganda. She goes as says it’s a myth about your card-it’s not a myth. Watch the video again and listen to how they track and control what they give you based on where you play. That went over peoples head. I want you to think about when they say it’s a myth but then say it’s not attached to the machine-she said she can see you did at any casino-your free play is digital and can turn machine on for you to play the machine-so how is it not connected to machine again? I could go on forever with examples by just giving you those 2 to think deep.y about when they tell you the card isn’t attached to machine in anyway. You could go to Vegas with zero dollars and if you have $500 freeeplay at 6 casinos you can run and play those casinos with zero cash and just with what? Your card is the answer-so how is your card NOT connected to the play of games again? Oh but Meatball they have regulations and they don’t cheat. lol . How does the Regulations Board stay in business with their kush job? Should they close cheating casinos & lose their kush job. Should they fine casinos so very rich casino owners but a hit on their job? Use your head people and listen to real gamblers. A lot of TH-camrs want the status so they fall for all this stuff and you can watch TH-camrs as their channel grows start to spew all the casino propaganda either willingly or have no idea they spew it. Also this lady is lying about tickets and other stuff. If you are winning enough and playing enough their is stuff you never dreamed of they will give you if you ask-i mean anything and by anything i mean anything-but we’ll use the ticket thing as example and i consider not even close to what im referring to. They can get you into the biggest and sold out show anywhere in Vegas if you are someone they have to get it for and no you don’t have to be spending millions. It’s hilarious all over the country most casinos have their “myth” signs up and #1 is the cause of cards. Understand that “myth” sign is the “truth” sign. Why would they waste their time with the sign and notice this lady when given the chance at the end of video to answer one question brings up the card. If you want to not believe anything above-just think how do i get a card and then how do i climb tiers. Time on machines is the answer-so you could just be someone who goes gambling or you can be a person who goes gambling and climb tiers not by amount of hand(she admitted that) but by time spent. See & hear that anyone ? Time on machine or at table. Casinos know you want the status and then tell you it’s time pent to get up levels, you are a perfect target because the magic number at casinos is 4hrs -stats show anything over 4hrs and you are putting the money back in. If you are a real gambler can figure out when to use a card to your advantage and when not to use it for your advantage. You can win a lot without the card and pay for your own stuff. Paying for food,room,drinks,ride from airport is more likely without card. Yes the card is connected to every part of the machine and they can watch you everywhere-that lady can watch you play at a casino that’s 10 casinos away. They can control your behavior and where you play. Once they have you in this spell of you’re glamorous and have a host you are toast at somepoint because you don’t realize they control you in this “relationship “ if you listen closely you will hear it. Also don’t think that a slot tech or a host knows how the big wigs run the casino. Again i have tons of examples I’m just trying to get you to see if you can pick up on just a couple in this video. There’s 5 telling examples in this video. I’m sure everyone of you believe big pharma too. I lost 9 family members after Vaxxxxx. But that’s a coincidence and had nothing to do with it. Because I’ve always lost 9 family members in 18 month period. My wife lost 5 family members and 5 have crazy cancers right now. Not one has ever had cancer in her family until the V. So keep on believing casino staff and the same propaganda. Trust me they know who you are and what you are winning without your card too. What do you think those cameras are for. I get harassed and I’m the only one around me for not using my card and they try intimidating and try to distract me while playing when I’m up and not using my card. Usually when i make $1500-$3000 off machines without a hand pay and not using card and i go from machine to machine then the intimidation crew starts working their tactics. Some will be hosts too and boy do they try to get me to put my card in. (I have the highest tier BTW) i can make my own comps plus get their comps. They will specifically target only me and I’ll have someone hold my machine then follow them to see if they stop at anyone else and they don’t -they disappear into the back. Many of you know-you’re doing terrible and you pull your card and bam you start winning instantly but always remember to use fresh cash-your tickets have a barcode filled with information-cash those out frequently if you aren’t using your card. Build your tiers but figure out how to do that efficiently and then you can pick or choose or do t use at all and you’ll see you can pay for your own comps unless you bet really big because this host is not telling you what they really can get you-the amazing stuff. If you are winning more than losing and it doesn’t have to be a crazy number they can do anything and i mean anything and they have 3rd parties that can give you stuff they can’t legally. Be careful with Casino propaganda-Casinos take money in any amount going out the door very seriously. They want it back and they have come up with the grey area in all parts of regulations from and regulation board that wants to keep kush jobs. So understand the world isn’t what you think it is and they prey on you with this tier stuff. Good luck
I was gold mgm for like 2-3 years and have now dropped to pearl. I can’t blow my life savings to have a casino status. I’ve done everything Tara has said and still got dropped. I don’t know how many thousands lost but it was not enough. I’m done with Las Vegas. There are no comps anymore. And resort fees are way to high so I won’t be going back. But I’ll always love Vegas but it’s to rigged up now.
Stupid thing casinos do … they should comp based on the AMOUNT SPENT , not the time there!!! Why would a casino want to Comp a little old lady who plays .25 cents for five hours and maybe spends $400 versus a player who gives the casino $50,000 in two minutes . Makes NOOOO sense . The way casino’s comp is OUTDATED and should be CHANGED if they are smart .

Casinos are literally manufactured because they want you to spend as long as possible there. No windows, no clocks nothing to let you know how much time youve spent there. So yes it makes perfect sense

My only question is this. How would one put together a 1-5 year game plan to efficently maximize comps and to level up each tier so that you're maximizing your entertainment? For the majority of us, Nevada and Atlantic City are 1-4x a year trips and even putting in the time is only going to get you so far.

This was a great vlog, explaining how the system works. Many people just don’t get it. I have Hosts but very seldom use them anymore, marketing offers are enough for me. I don’t require any special treatment. Years ago the system was different, my Hosts were amazing but since the players clubs were introduced, the system has changed. The one thing I will never do is pay for a room which I haven’t done in over 40 years. Thank you for this video,I hope the people who have questions watch this. Sue

Was great to hear this info. Reminded me of some of the ins and outs I have forgotten over the last 27 years of going to Vegas and talking to hosts. The last 4 years we have been staying at the Bellagio and have noticed how its gotten harder to get Platinum status.

Excellent information to be sharing! I see so many people take advantage of comps and then get mad at the casino and/or host when their comps/offers decline. My only suggestion is to not think of your host as a "friend". It's a business relationship and it can be helpful to keep that perspective.

This is really interesting and has me thinking. The last time I was at NYNY I had the best interaction ever with the cashier when I checked out. I was even thinking how impressive and caring she was! Made my day. So I think she looked at my play without me even knowing she was looking at my play. I love NYNY but my comps are not great as I am a low roller. Like really low. Cannot wait for my next trip!

All the play over the years never once got approached for any comps let alone a drink!! I usually do not drink if playing anyway…. Went on a cruise and was rather impressed with the comp Steak House, Japanese Restaurant and Free Cruises after only burning up about 1000 dollars of my own money into the machines but consistent less than Hand Pay 600 to 900 payouts kept us playing slots about every hour the Casino was open!!! So Free Balcony 7 days with free drink package for a 7 day Alaska Cruise is booked. All we pay is taxes gratuities and parking so total 7 day trip costs 1100 for 2 of us includes Food …. Less than driving vacation buying gas and 6 nights in hotels kind of tripping!!!!!

It's the total hours played on any machine or machines during a one day period.

I had a host at Luxor and when I tried to book a room or promotion at another MGM property, he told me I had to contact a host at that casino. He was no help. I gambled alot during the pandemic and received great comps. How far do you go back to factor in your coin-in & coin-out? BTW I used to be Gold and I’m now Pearl.

I’m curious. When she says that “her” bosses look to see if the host “overcomps”, for the year but what about a “Platinum” members over 400k Tier Credits who never gets a limousine, never gets any “additional” F&B, never gets an upgrade, does she get to “overcomp” her friends at my expense as long as it evens out for the year for all guests with a specific host.
I think she means over comps any player is the way I understood it. If your platinum with over 400k tier points and getting no F&B offers I would for sure be talking to a host, we have that in our app without even taking to a host and others know do as well. If your host isn’t getting you a limo and your are platinum with 400k points I would ask a manager for another host for sure.

I’m getting the standard 4 nights comped, I had up to $1,500.00 Free Play, however, because I visited twice in December for the “Holiday” shopping spree and just came in for the day, my Free Play dropped to $200. I’ve eaten at all MGM properties and charged everything to the room and have asked via telephone before checking out if they could comp anything or everything and answer was no.
The “host” that denied me in December arguably has to be the worst. In all seriousness, as a Platinum with well over 400k this past year, was denied a limousine to/from the airport on every trip. It is true, a “host” at Bellagio wants you to play at Bellagio, a host at Aria wants you to play at Aria.
Knowing that Pearl’s get better treatment, I’d never play a penny past 200k! This year, I’ll reduce my play to make Gold to get the free rooms and no resort fee. In the end, MGM lost out on good customer.
I can rationalize comps and free play as a rebate on losses. I get massage, golf, buffets, concert tix, rooms. Smart players can come out close to even every year with a great relationship with a host.. They will trade your cash for services all day long. Soft comps are company owned services and easier to get, Hard comp is anything other like Taylor Swift concert, raiders game not in owned suite etc...you gotta lose a ton to get a hard comp.

Wow,my last trip to nyny I fell over a ramp and tubing on casino floor late a used , cost me thousands in rotator cuff surgery when I got home . Told numerous workers offered no help. Plus lost alot!

Trying to play the game so the value my "free" room, comps, match play etc arent too much less than my losses. I enjoy gambling and casino living, but I'm not going to lose too much more than the retail cost of those things trying to get them for "free." So I'm never going to be a high roller and that's fine with me, but oddly enough if you hit the tier credit multiplier days and take advantage of offers it's really not that hard to get decent rewards without losing too much. Well on my way to Diamond Elite at Caesars and almost 60% of my tier points have come from matching points or the multipliers.

Gold status is to hard to reach now without making many trips out over the course of a year and losing a lot of money. It used to be more obtainable but unless you come often, pearl is about only status that most people will reach. A video on what extras you can get and how to get them with one status below gold (or its equivalent at other chains) might be interesting. In other words, can you push to get some additional credits at check out with pearl status even without an assigned host? A guide on how to do that would be interesting as it will be applicable to way more people than those with gold status (or higher) and a personal host.
We will sure keep that in mind.

I have heard you still can maybe get some additional amounts off your bill. But guidance on how to do this? What to ask for? Who to approach to get the most off? How much can you possibly get off depending on play on that given trip even though you are not gold tier? This is going to include the majority of players since they have now made gold and above so hard to achieve. I actually don't think it reasonable to get to this level anymore unless you are regularly using a tie in credit card and/or are coming out to Vegas many times over the course of the year.

My comps went way down for 2024 because my 8+ night stay in September took place during the 2023 cyberattack and I couldn’t do my usual slot play. It really hurt players who can only travel to Las Vegas 1-2 times a year.
We were there right at the end of that. Our host helped us with that and I think we did get our points. But yes that was a bad deal, have you talked to them about it?

The issue is simple. People want to be treated like they just aren't some number in a system.
It's very hard to justify NOT giving someone comps when they just lost the 1500 they brought to gamble with....all at their property.
Some do not understand how much you really gotta play through to even think about getting a host attention. Some DO understand, are playing a lot, LOSING a lot, yet still don't get any extras.
If anything, comps are declining and have been for a while now, yet inflation has caused people to spend more per trip.
I feel like Vegas is now a slippery slope that most people don't have the boots and traction to keep climbing.
We do understand.
I play craps, usually buying in for $500 to $750 for each session. I play for a few hours each day.

Yes absolutely table pay counts but it takes longer to earn.
Great video. Last NYNY trip which I normally do not stay at Tara took great care of me. Simply had to walk into her office which is in High Limit Slot area. Very busy lady on a Friday night!
If anyone is wondering cruises work same. Usually your auto enrolled into there Players Club but cruises they work usually outside of the cruiseline itself. For instance I cruise with Norwegian. Norwegian's casino is run by Casinos at Sea which is a entirely different loyalty system that Norwegian runs right down to reservations. Have not paid for a cruise in years upon years due to cruise players club system.
Anyhow it pays greatly to have a host. Easy to get all you have to do is talk to one. 99% of the time they have a separate office which has a sign or they are in a office in "High Limits". Usually they can offer things that the app or website do not. At worst its the same offer.
We are on a cruise now and just did an interview with a long time cruiser that will be coming out soon. Thank you for the tips, it is a whole other comp system to learn for sure. What is your favorite cruise line and ship?
Norwegian. They try to appeal to all age brackets. There larger ships have a great mini vegas vibe. There priced such the passengers tend to be sane. The boats while not small by any measure are small enough to go through the Panama Canal so I feel the boat size is perfect. Other then Norwegian I have done Princess once and to this day I could book for casino rate or comped depending. Both have great player club rewards that mostly come in the form of a free cabin or greatly discounted one. Since food and drink depending if you selected package is free they tend to comp based on game play specialty dining and spa mostly. Since your only talking about 300 slots maybe 8 tables the host knows everyone after the first night. I think its fun to since you see the same gamblers playing whole trip and make some great friends. Anyhow if you get sucked into cruising via casino comps you tend to stick with that cruise line no matter what so pick wisely! @@DestinationJackpot

FYI, Tara said 1500 a day in Theo for a comp room? Only? She's packing that a lot. 1500 in "Theo" equates to 450-500 real dollars a night. Sorry but NO WAY is that even rack rate at NYNY. Also, the casino gets rooms at a reduced cost. Depending on the property casino gets rooms up to 50% less from the front of the house. This is fact not fake news.
Tara said herself, 30-35% of Theo, you do the math. 1500 in Theo x 35% is $525 real dollars. By the way, 30-35% that's a fact, some host will go up to 40% of Theo depending on the situation.
Tara I can tell is very nice and fun for sure. I would work with her if I was going to stay at NYNY.

You can earn tier credits with sports bets but not sure how they work with comps.
They work fine. I’m gold last year and almost gold again this year. Lots of mgm betting but they did a promotion once that was like 3X tier credits for every dollar spent on the app.
I can confirm, that no MGM Rewards desk would tell you exactly how many tier credits you earned any given day. Verified on 3 occassions, 3 different places. Also, hosts are hit and miss really, most of them don't want to do anything with you, if you are not American, who can and will fly there every 2-3 weeks or month to gamble.
We don’t go to vegas except average 2x’s a year and we have found them helpful. The machines actually show you your points.

Not sure who you're talking to, but I've had Rewards Desk members look up my play and do the math right in front of me to tell me how many credits I'm at in the day, especially when I'm rallying for the accelerator credit.
This does not change the fact, that this information is not readily available to them, and they are not to provide it. They COULD if they want to, yes. But most does not really care that much to go the extra mile. @@FlyLikeDove

She always comps us the 5th night since our offer is 4 nights! But this year we are starting out as Pearl 🥲 so this is so helpful for us. It’s so hard to make and keep Gold, so this was perfect timing since we will be in Vegas in March. After being platinum a few years ago I miss those perks, but Gold is the goal this year. Love Aria and the Corner suite!

??? Is there any conflict between the Host and the VIP check-in at the Hotel? I have been going to Planet Hollywood for 10 years and my Host booked me a suite for my Birthday. When I went to check in they did not give me the suite I was promised. The VIP at Planet Hollywood were extremely rude ends up they had the room available but said my play was not enough! Which is crazy ridiculous! I was in tears because I was expecting this room had friends coming and they made a fool out of me and just laughed when I walked out. Host got me suite at Harrahs but damage done by then. I also have a corporate group of 3000 people that book at Hollywood every year but after this I will definitely be going somewhere else. They were truly so mean and I had been so loyal to them for 10 years. It seemed to me it was the host they were trying to punish, but to do it they used me.
Wow, that is really awful. So sorry that happened. My experience has been that across most brands VIP Check in and hosts work well together.
Better start playing at MGM casinos. They have better comps and rewards program that Ceasar’s

I used to have a host at Caesars when I’d visit 2 or 3 times a year pre cvid, he liked that I would sit all day if my daily bankroll allowed. Mostly I’d end up losing by the end of the week, but I didn’t care, I just wanted to play.
After flying from the UK, my full goal was to play for as long as I could.
I didn’t pay for a room for years.
When I added up what I’d spent on the slots, it worked out what I’d spend on a room if I paid for it.
So it’s a wash for me. Sometimes I’d get free play or a free buffet too.
That was on a $300-500 a day gambling budget.

Oh boy you gamblers who get stuck in these tier status comps. Just admit to yourself you want to feel special. Hosts are not your friend-no hotel employee is. It’s convenient I’ll give you that but their job is to get you to spend all your money including the money you win from them. I will say with your Theo score don’t use your card if you’re going to play for an hour before you leave for airport-so if you played 8 hours per day for 3 days then just played for an hour on day 4 as you leave it will screw up your Theo score. So don’t use your card for a quick play.

Build your tiers but figure out how to do that efficiently and then you can pick or choose or do t use at all and you’ll see you can pay for your own comps unless you bet really big because this host is not telling you what they really can get you-the amazing stuff. If you are winning more than losing and it doesn’t have to be a crazy number they can do anything and i mean anything and they have 3rd parties that can give you stuff they can’t legally. Be careful with Casino propaganda-Casinos take money in any amount going out the door very seriously. I was gold mgm for like 2-3 years and have now dropped to pearl. I can’t blow my life savings to have a casino status. I’ve done everything Tara has said and still got dropped. I don’t know how many thousands lost but it was not enough. I’m done with Las Vegas. There are no comps anymore. And resort fees are way to high so I won’t be going back. But I’ll always love Vegas but it’s to rigged up now.

Stupid thing casinos do … they should comp based on the AMOUNT SPENT , not the time there!!! Why would a casino want to Comp a little old lady who plays .25 cents for five hours and maybe spends $400 versus a player who gives the casino $50,000 in two minutes . Makes NOOOO sense . The way casino’s comp is OUTDATED and should be CHANGED if they are smart .
