I use your soap and your pure magic clean my car and it came out excellent I am so impressed you have a customer for life then I topped it off with tough as shell and my car is glowing
This product interests me for heavily soiled wheels. however, the one time I used an acidic wheel cleaner on wheels, it totally rusted the rotor hats. Not the rotors, the rotor hats.
Hey Jimbo…I got a new job recently and dealing with class B fleets. Prior detailers didn’t use spotless water nor dry, they used the mobile automatic wash. Anywho, I’ve got to fix major water etching. I cannot 2 step 40 fleets. Do ya think this would aid in the decontamination, especially in my worst case scenario? I could send pictures. Much thanks brotha
Yes - ideal for that situation. If they’re real bad you may have to go back and wipe it down with a little more. But this will definitely soften and remove some
I’ll get it shipped out first thing tomorrow morning. Pls let me know if you have any questions when using it. I’m here to help troubleshoot too if need be. Thanks for the support.
Dang. I purchased in a hurry, just ready for my work weekend and read up on the site that 1:1 is recommended for water spot. I’ll test 4:1 for my problematic etching, will order the gallon next!
@@autodetailingpodcast I am a new detailing business so most of what I see is hammered. Hard as Shell looks like a product I can use without thinking to much and deliver superior results compared to a car wash.
How harsh is this on coatings? If I were to use this every other wash on dusty wheels, will it kill a decent ceramic coating quickly? The alkaline cleaners seem to do a number on them if you overuse it.
It’s surprisingly safe on quality coatings. I still wouldn’t suggest using it every wash and it’s usually not needed that often. But tbh Hard As Shell is also super easy to use so you could always do a quick topper with that if you see the coating starting to give in and it will boost it right back.
@@autodetailingpodcast Makes sense. My brakes are super dusty from 6 piston calipers and track pads so maybe it just makes sense to keep applying Hard As Shell and not care about the coating even.
Maybe I missed something but what soap did you cut this with? You mentioned adding it to “your favorite soap” just wanted to know what soap YoU normally use. So many to choose from this would seriously help. Thanks by the way great video’s!! I’ll be placing an order shortly.
I guess I've been doing the car washing "technique" wrong. LOL I like how you wash the car (direct foaming instead of pre-washing then foaming. Save you time too since one less work to do). I also didn't think of the part where I can use contact wash the car with just the wash mitt (with the soap still on the car, of course) and does everything faster. Thanks for sharing and glad I subbed your channel, otherwise, I would've not known this. Hehe
@@autodetailingpodcast To me, it's not doing it wrong in a bad sense of way but I feel and see your technique is more efficient (and less work) than what I do. I like your technique better. (I should've thought of that before and I dunno why i didn't) LOL
I've noticed that when applying some products weekly or bi weekly that it can cause a build up and actually have a negative effect on Gloss. Any issues with applying hard as shell frequently?
I'm confused what's this exactly? Is it like something in the middle between a regular car wash soap and an APC? Or is it supposed to be as strong as an APC without stripping ceramic sprays? What are the main differences vs something like Optimum Power Clean?
Its an acid based cleaner. Designed for deep cleaning wheels, especially the barrels of rims. hard water spot removal, to unclog ceramic coatings and to boost your soap. Its unlike anything else out there right now.
Hi Jimbo I got my two bottles, I would like to know if I can put another product to get more protection and then the ceramic if I can give me and idea what will work.
sorry if you showed it, but after watching the first few minutes I jumped ahead and really didn't see this: It would have been nice to see the foam before you added you magic cleaner as you said it would produce more foam. How do we know if you didn't show the foam without mixing?
I'm thinking more than just extra foam that it adds extra ceaning power by its nature of being more acidic. Just my thoughts. Everyone's gonna be putting it and all Jimbos new products through their paces! I'm looking forward to trying them too 😅
Jimbo, will the Turtlewax Soap + Pure Magic Cleaner in foam canon break down Tough as Shell? How often do you wash your Landcruiser with Turtlewax Soap + Pure Magic Cleaner mix?
Interesting and I wonder if it will make a wax or bead maker fail. I’m not sure why but I have prepped my paint for turtle wax ceramic spray on my wife’s brand new suv and the coating has been solid for the last 6 months but idk why I just don’t want to do an actual coating on it. I’ve done it before but the spray is just easier.
@@autodetailingpodcast exactly and it holds up well but I have watched your torture tests on the spray on products and stuff but the only thing I do is add some APC to my wheel cleaner and I can tell the difference when I wouldn’t add it.
As in auto parts stores or Walmart? I don’t think they have an acid based product in stores. If they do it’s probably hydrofluoric acid which this isn’t. So I’m not really sure.

Ordering this and hard as shell. I have a Ceramic Pro Gold coating on my car how often can I apply the Hard As Shell? And how often can i wash with the magic cleaner?
awsome, youre gonna love it. You can use HAS as often as every time you wash the car - it will only help the coating, it wont hurt or take away from it. For a wash with pure magic, I usually go every other month, unless I see a ton of dirt and debris or I go a little longer if the car doesnt see much dirt - does that make sense?
Yes makes sense. If the car is really dirty or just here and there to make sure it's clean from deeper dirt. Thank you and love the content. Great stuff.

if you pre rinse a car...how much water is still sitting on the panels? then go look up your chem manuals from high school and figure out if it will really dilute the product significantly.
It depends if your car is coated or not. Non coated cars will have much more water on them after a pre rinse. Coated cars not so much if they are in good condition
Just know that the gallon is full concentration and dilutable up to 99:1, making it very economical. It will also replace a few other products with just this one. I also offer it in a 16oz pre diluted at 4:1 if you’re interested in trying it. I’ll ship it for free too.
At 0:26, Jimbo shows that he DGAF (look over his left shoulder the look where his truck is parked). I am guessing that is because the LC is too big to fit in the shop and allow for room to move around it? Somebody call David Blaine because there is a new magician in town.........his initials are J.B. Seriously though, you make a solid point about not pre-rinsing before the first foam.
