Hey I'm on the middle of platinuming vanilla DS2 and your remastered mod makes the journey a much better experience. Thanks for sharing your amazing work!
I'm glad your recent DS2 vids have come on my recommended, thanks. I would love to know what it is about Dark Souls 2 that looks so fucking C R I S P. Majula is still the best looking thing Fromsoft have ever created, let alone environment. If only they had more time to polish the rest of the environments, so many are just so obviously unfinished, i'd say only Heides is 100% finished, aside from Majula.
I think part of what made the Demon Souls remake look so much more premium was the nice lighting. Cool to see dynamic shadows in DS2, it was probably the most lacking part of the game as I always felt everything else was fine except the lighting (animations and textures) Is there prebaked AO also? I feel like it might cut off a lot of the overhead power requirements.
How would you use your ds2 preset for LE and BOTC together? I tried getting rid of the filter folder in the mod and tweaking around the settings, but it still doesn't look nearly as good as the botc filter.
I've always wanted to like DS2LE, and I do some of the changes like volumetrics are just great, but some of the artistic changes always just irked me a bit too much, especially areas like dragons aerie and things betwixt. I tried trying to vanilla-ify things betwixt on my own since its a fairly small area and well I'm not a modder so I went kinda insane near the end. Something like this that just goes through the entire game adding in dynamic shadows and sticking with the original look of the game whilst being enhanced with all the LE goodness is really just great to look at. Always great seeing what you do next.
Is it possible to just hold Ctrl and click on multiple objects so they're all selected and you can just enable shadows on a batch of models at a time? I haven't messed with this version of DSLE so I figure there's like a 50/50 chance it'll either let you do that or it won't because they all have different settings applied, but in a lot of similar programs it does work like that and just applies the settings you've changed to all the selected objects. Looks awesome as usual though!
I've not had the urge to replay DS2 in damn near a decade but if I could play it with full dynamic shadows, I would immediately reinstall it. Would be amazing if we could get the whole game to look like the pre-release version of the game. Too bad we don't have any details about all the lighting-related gameplay mechanics that were supposedly taken out of the game. Though those might have been scrapped before they could even be implemented.
your dedication to cracking open DS2 is incredible, impressive work as always
"I live my life based on DYNAMIC SHADOWS" should be on a t-shirt
I'm also loving this. I wish there was a quicker way to "select" pieces of the geometry, like holding left click and selecting big portions of stuff
I have a shadow, therefore I am dynamic.
I would probably buy that ngl. I mean, IF fromsoftserve signs them, I'm buying !!
"I paused my game just to be here" type shit
i love that ur working on ds2 so much, i feel like there is so much potential for it
this pleases the brain
My eyes and ears also

the process of adding shadows in LE looks therapeutic
Yes please more ds2 modding
Got a big forehead kiss for you if you drop this
Keep it up man, I really appreciate you bringing light to all the work you and other creators do to the Souls community. Praise the sun!
I love getting fromsoftserved😩

Goddamn, Tower of Heide looking like a gorgeous screensaver wtf.
Majula Oblongata 🧠

Nice work, looks great, cheers from Germany
Wonder how dark areas like no man's wharf or the castle would work
0:06 Majula Oblongata
Now if only you can make greatswords not float above the characters shoulders and it’ll be 10/10
i play dark souls 2 on a crt on the playstation 3 using composite cables from the ps2, seeing the game like this is craaaazy lol

Mclovins been busy

I imagine there needs to be a custom preset at this point to fully integrate the two

Textures look flat and plasticy, is there reflection maps or specular on rocks or walls ?
There is, although apparently there's a bunch of models that lack some of the materials (which is not exclusive to just DS2).
nice bro hey When you are going to make a mod to have all the maps at night ? It would be very cool
why enemies don't have shadows?
Because they're enemies , they don't deserve the shadows
Oh I think I had the built in dynamic shadows disabled by accident lol. Oops!
is there a way to add dynamic shadows to a bunch of stuff without the tedium of doing it manually?
Can you add dynamic shadows to the enemy AI? They're severely lacking.

So these dynamic shadows changes will be added to the mod in future and in which mod bearer of the curse or lightning engine itself ?
So this would be it’s own mod that should be largely compatible with BotC but might miss some extra map pieces it adds
So, you did all this in DS Maps, right? Just for clarity, I think you might have mentioned something about the DS Maps there
Is this original ds2 or scholar of the first sin
Scholar!
