@0_Homura_Akemi_0 I couldn't make out what county it was, all I got a glimpse of was something with an S. Sarasota? Sandusky? who knows. I think that squad took the wrong exit lol
I saw this car parked up in Falmouth a while ago. Could not believe what I was seeing so snapped a pic of course! Super cool ... especially the bit with the local police and resulting light show!
Dual citizen Brit Canadian here. Currently in Canterbury Uk, other home is Vancouver Canada. We had these Crown Vics as police cars in Vancouver but they are gradually being replaced. Still quite a few across the border in Washington State USA. They are also still used at the Canada US border by US Customs and Border Protection, parked up as pursuit vehicles in case someone tries to run the border. Here in South East England, to my surprise, at local car shows, there's a gent here with a totally authentic Vancouver police Crown Vic. He even puts British Columbia license plates front and rear during shows. I've posed in front of the car, showing the license plate and when I sent the photos to friends, they actually thought I was back in Vancouver! I'd love to have a car like that, especially as I have a very authentic looking Canadian Mountie outfit.
Really great to hear that these cars are still in service after 14 years of being discontinued! I recall seeing an RCMP Crown Vic at a big American show in the Southeast last year!
@@madasafish2010 some departments here in the US still have some in reserves too if they arent active duty. Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department has hundreds sitting in an old lot waiting to be put into service decades after being purchased. They are insanely durable cars, I live in Alaska and own a vic, it is the only car in our driveway that reliably starts in winter at like -20F (-28C) with no issues, rest of our cars are brand new but still have issues, they dont make them like they used to for sure.
You should take those cars to Warminster UK and Plymouth Uk respectively, which would really confuse the locals. In my other homeland of Vancouver Canada, we have the suburbs of Richmond and Surrey, same as their UK namesakes. And yes, over there we have police cars labeled with "Richmond Police" as well as "Surrey Police". In Ontario Canada is the town of Cornwall. Imagine if you'd imported a police car from there, with Cornwall Police written on it!
I couldn't care less for a new rolls royce, or any plethora of supercars. Nothing is cooler than a fully kitted up police crown vic, cruising the mean, lean, streets of the UK!
A few people have suggested this and I will look into doing a series dedicated to public reactions some time later in the year once I've compiled enough.
Honestly you’ll only really see them over here in museums and with not well off small departments. Or the LAPD who happened to literally stockpile hundreds of these
Swear i saw the Plymouth one in pool near cornwall college a little while back, Remember talking to the guy well. Always loved these cars and love seeing them on UK roads
Wow that is really cool to hear! It is a small world. I've been trying for ages now to get in contact with someone at the police department but I've had no luck. The rest of the Warminster community know the car is here and they love it. My car got featured on the front page of the Intelligencer newspaper back in November!
This is awesome! I remember seeing an American school bus parked up in saltash just by McDonalds a couple of years ago. Always cool to see the American stuff
As an American, I see countless Crown Vics everyday, and are often retired interceptors from the state troopers where I am. It’s interesting to see one in the UK with these videos, especially all the excitement people have over it, because while I like them, most people around here don’t even notice them
Had a CV in the states, loved it. Would gladly have one again, either classic or last gen. Actually got pulled over by a yank copin a CV beside greenham Common airbase back in the 80's
Nice to see a unit in the UK drove one for 17 years in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. USA. Crown Vic is the best cop car ever built funny watching the expression of all the people looking at it.

Valid question indeed, basically we just get written permission in advance or if it is the police in person, getting a note from them or them saying it on camera. As for Devon & Cornwall police, they were just super chill and friendly with us and just allowed us to play with the lights. Obviously if we use them on any public highway without permission, we could be AT LEAST fined.
Wow, well I can say with confidence it isn't me as I have never lived in Cornwall before. The Plymouth Crown Vic is in Redruth and there was once upon a time an unmarked white Crown Vic in Truro.

As an American I first and foremost miss the Crown Victoria and Panther Platform in general, second do UK cops and emergency services use Headlight/Taillight flashers/strobes because we use them still and probably will into the foreseeable future.
Many police departments in America to this day continue to ask Ford if they will bring back the Vic, which truly is a testament to how great these cars were. In the UK we stopped using stobes years ago and turned to LEDs, which here would be the Whelen Vertex or the Ecco ED series.
@madasafish2010 I've heard that. I use the word "strobe" loosely out of habit for gas strobe and flashing LED do to the "Strobing Effect" (aka flashing) i know there's a difference technically but most lamen don't. Didn't know how knowledgeable you were on the lights.
The police officers at 6:30 actually made you break the law as it is illegal to use emergency lights on a public road unless you are an authorised emergency services worker who is trained to use them.
@@tfairley1187 that's not a private car park that's a public roadway.
