    lovely for this vedio i want to know how we design the beam size & which dia we recommend plz discuss?

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bar diameter is dependent on the are of steel that you require. Generally 12mm tor or 10mm tor are provided but for heavy structures the reinforcement may even go upto 32mm tor

    Sir I have couldn't understand that you said that value of load 15KN acts as UDL. but you multiplied the concrete density with slab (having area 4.01.) volume. which converts it into total weight of concrete . can you explain how it acts as UDL. should we divide the total weight by beam span length to convert it into KN/m as a UDL......???

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anwar Mengal yes you're right, the 15KN is to be divided by the span of the beam.
      Actually I also divided the load by the span. Due to the poor audio equipment I might have missed to account that.
      Sorry for the inconvenience caused

    As I had already watched the Nptel videos but I m still confused regarding the all loads that acts on a building

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anurag Khati what I can suggest you is that you learn staad or etabs and then just experiment with the loadings, maybe you'll get an idea of how loads act on the structure by practice and experience.
      I used to model structure on staad and apply different set of loadings and observe the bending moments, shear and deflection patterns.. That helped me a lot to learn about loading and structural responses.

    Please help me to solve how to calculate moment distribution from beam to column..Many Thanks.your videos are helpful

      Hi Ahmed,
      Apologies for the extreme delay in response, it's been quite a while since I've done the calculation by hand.
      You can find the link to an article on how I had managed the same task during my college at this link iecivil.blogspot.com/2017/10/moment-redistribution-for-design-of.html

    if we have to design a 5 storey building so how can we calculate the total load ??????

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anurag Khati thanks for the comment
      If all the floors in your building are same then you can just multiply it by the number of floors..
      Else lately I've been using E-TABS for the work

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Anurag Khati are your floors of the same type?

    Can u tell me how to calculate load of column n design of column in autocad

    • @manjunathhukkeri4068
      @manjunathhukkeri4068 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't do that in autocad but u can do it in Excel using AutoCAD data

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Manjunath,
      It is possible to design columns in AutoCAD. Not directly but if you code some lisp then you can just create a few commands that based on a few inputs can help you perform the same calculations that you could do in Excel. I would recommend using Excel for calculations but if you're interested then you can program a lisp to get that task done as well.
      I have a lisp that I use to plot control perimeters based on a the point loads and column positions

      Anurag Khati hey there!
      I would love to make a few videos on that topic but at the moment I'm a bit busy with a few projects.
      I would suggest you check out NPTEL videos on design of RCC structures. I personally learned a lot from those videos..
      Hope that works for you..
      Just let me know incase you need any assistance..
      Thank you 😁

    What the purpose of calculating load from slap

    • @iecivil

    y u have taken 45 degree angle ??

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anurag Khati it's based on the yield theory of slabs

    • @iecivil
      @iecivil  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anurag Khati 2 way slabs show a distribution that splits along 45 degrees from the corners and 1 way is distributed along the longer supports
