The reason skull of dire ahamkara is top tier for this build is because it provides super energy for every weapon kill while you have devour, not because of the nova bomb aspect. You could use any prismatic super with this build and it would still work amazingly so long as you keep feed the void running. That being said: nova bomb is still the best option solely because its a one-off like needlestorm, does similar damage to needlestorm and it comes in handy getting that little bit of extra super energy when getting kills with it.
@ the best I’ve gotten to a build is . What you mentioned in aspects + skyburners and dawn chorus instead of fell winter A plethora of melee mods that generate gernade energy. So far it’s a build that gets stronger the tougher the content is! But I still feel like it’s missing something.
also if running prismatic super. Dire Ahamkara is not tied to void super for Super Regen gains. You can use that helmet to power on other supers as long Devour is active on Prismatic Class
I think the best part about this change is that you can use it on any warlock class if you really wanted to. Buried Bloodline is required for anything not void or prismatic though. Of course you won't get the energy off the nova bomb but I keep seeing it not give back super energy.

The super regen is far better than having miniscule extra uptime on your abilities. Grenades come fast enough with a demo weapon + devour, and hellion can keep devour going nicely which is the biggest perk to running void or prismatic IMO. Phoenix dive is also objectively better than rift. Don't sleep on prismatic, the only real saving grace of pure void is being able to get devour up to 15(?) seconds IMO. The void kit just sucks. The melee sucks, the weakening grenade fragmet takes an extra 10 discipline away compared to the same fragment on prismatic... bleh. Plus with prismatic you can make void breaches off of any rapid void kills, which then pairs nicely with the artifact mod to do weakening blasts after picking up a breach
Skull of Dire Ahamkara is just a worse Mantle of Battle Harmony / Spirit of Harmony. I use Aberrant Action or Martyr's Retribution to spam Song of Flame on prismatic over and over, probably Bad Juju would go along nicely to save ammo for them. Definitively no need to swap to Skull to have more steps to get my super and be stuck using only Nova Bomb.
It's not "worse" perse, it's just build dependant. Kinetic weapons do nothing with mantle. You're better off with nova than SoF right now though, ignitions are bugged or nerfed since start of ep 2, and that's the only real appeal of SoF besides the dmg resist. But nova hits like a truck, the tradeoff is worth it The only time I'd use skull is for this synergy with bad juju to bang out supers, otherwise it's not worth using either. But when combined it does work pretty well with double kinetic surges.
Been playing this a while, I’d rather go Nez Sin + Graviton + Scatter nades + Firepower instead. Faster loop overall, supers not as quick but still very quick. Nade kills give you 2 orbs and a breach, and get nade back in seconds

All exotics from PH have the trait so Still Hunt can be added. But saying Battle Harmony is mid is just meta mental no fun had ever. With TFS Battle Harmony gained ability to give super energy on every kill instead of every 2 seconds. This really allows for absurdly fast supers in mob dense activities. If you dont plan on spamming supers you gain +25% dmg to weapon matching super. No duh its not meta or bis but a way better alternative than forcing nova and bad juj. Produces similar super times in a season that is mostly stasis arc artifact.

I was rocking bad juju with spirit of galanor with Silence and Squall and I was disappointed with how poorly they worked together. You still get capped at 50% so if your super regend all 50% and you regen 45% with bad juju before it ended you still only get capped at 50%
I ran a Star Eater Scales/Bad Juju hunter (any subclass) with a kinetic syphon mod for orb gen that worked pretty decent way back. Might have to try it again now.
If you can hit your crits you could 100% run this with celestial nighthawk. Especially for stuff like GM’s. Unstoppable pulse rifle is on the artifact and you get 33% of your super energy back on nighthawk kills.
Energy gains for abilities is based on what tier its at. For example, with kickstart mods, the higher your strength/discipline, the more energy you get back from the mod. This applies to everything similar about energy gains unless it's a set amount like demolitionist
@@Purpletrident u are correct which in this specific case u still get 7.5% from bad juju and up to 50% from the exotic. putting 100 intellect does help but with bad juju in the mix its just better to put your stat points to something else imo
So, realistically, in higher level content (say Wave 30+ in Onslaught Expert) is Bad Juju still worth the exotic slot or would something that deals better/ consistent damage (say Khavostov) be a better option? My fear is the damage drop-off from Bad Juju vs higher level enemies thus making it harder to actually keep up the String of Curses

No, this build is only really effective in easier content. FL is crazy in onslaught rn. Would recommend void loader even with the artifact perk that makes GL's reload faster with each hit. I cleared to round 50 easily (non expert)
Its funny, both your and plunders videos came out within an hour of eachother, but have pretty drastic differences in your opinions on bad juju and skull. Plunder was saying how bad juju didn't feel that great in end game content compared to something like khavastov. But watching his expert onslaught gameplay with skull, it seems you are downplaying the exotic by a fair bit as it looks amazing with how many novas he gets off and he absolutely smokes the other 2 players in his run in terms of kills. I would like to point out that plunder also does tests with random lfgs to further prove a point on how his builds can carry blueberries and how they will perform outside of a perfect test chamber where your teammates can steal kills, etc.

Nezarecs requires you to use a void weapon which limits you on your loadouts, skull only requires you to have devour active which thanks to prismatic is insanely easy to do. Using nova bomb isn't required at all either and its just an added bonus towards the super energy, the build still works amazingly using any of the other options. If you're already running a void weapon as your main/running a pure void class then yes nezarecs is 100% the way to go, but if you prefer using a different weapon and want to have a more free loadout then skull is the better pick here for sure. It's main benefit really shows in add-heavy environments like onslaught because it's very easy to get back almost 50% of your super instantly after casting. I think comparing the two isn't really a valid point since they both operate differently, not to mention that only one of them will actually work effectively with bad juju.

The only thing I wish for Bad Juju is for it to work with Necrotic Grips beyond the bonus to AE, that kaboom spreading toxins would be a great thing.
