Blender Animation Test - CGI breakdown

- Originally, I wanted to try out blender hair dynamics with wind and turbulence generators, and looked better than I expected, so I included it into a random scene, added some music and voila!
Everything in this video is made in blender.
This scene was rendered in 4 different layers, due to dedicated RAM limitations.
Total render time : ~ 32 days.
( I could have reduced the no of samples, light bounces etc, but quality comes first. )
My PC specs :
I model, texture, animate, edit etc. on a predator helios 300 laptop.

CPU : i7-8750H @ 2.2GHz
GPU : GTX 1060 @ 6 Go RAM
RAM : 16Go DDR4
Monitor : HKC 34 inch 4K curved

I render on a separate computer in a separate room. I use the crowd render add on to handle rendering on external servers.

lmao, I'm guessing you watched Blender Guru's tutorial through? If so, nice job... that thing took me over two weeks and half of me died in the process, how well did you manage to survive? XD

@@Jelly27Fish LOTS of pausing, replying and fullscreening the tutorials. I still have to go back, and don't fully understand all the lingo. It's so frustrating knowing you can create just about anything but it takes sooo long just to fully understand the program itself!
Steve the Pussy Cat I was excited about that, too. I made a donut model in blender with sprinkles and it excited me as well.
Now do it 10000 times, around a story, and you have a Disney film (edit: more like 35 times)
32 days to render, tho. Still. It looks fuuuucking amazing

Nicky: 2 or 4 worker.
He did almost 30 secs of footage. Movie needs around 120 minutes of footage, and by that logic he only needs to do this 240 times :)

I think it's less pixar and more illumination. The background HDRI just doesn't quite cut it and the fur's movement is slightly less than perfect.

I did a simple animation....... and i could have sworn the whole render saved---- only to come back, ready to post..... and it only rendered 2 of 498 frames

You mean a Sphere? a circle is a two dimensional object while a Sphere is a Three dimensional object.
It's a figure of speech. Rendering is the biggest bottleneck of CGI

This is masterpiece it takes forever to finish it but the results is impressive I love it and I can't imagine how long it takes to finish if making an animated video or movie
It takes 2-4 years or more for a animated movie.
This one prob took 3 weeks or more w/ planning the stuff and rigging

instead of having the eye darts on 1 frames, the timing of dart could perhaps be 2 frames with 70 30 spacing,,as audience we are really drawn to the eyes and that really kills it for me, otherwise the rendering looks great
edit: for the huge darts only
I don’t think most of the audience will notice that, most of the audience won’t even know about frames cause I didn’t notice
@@jillmont3342 I noticed, the eyes just teleporting around looked really weird.
It's not a huge detail, but it's still noticable. The eyes dart around a bit too quickly. Other than that, it's an amazing animation.

@@janelle9998Maybe something like a credits system. You have to earn them somehow, so when you give a lot of them you can show how much you love it.
Well, not to ruin it, but a like means you like it, not that you want to add 1 to their happy number. So, more likes from one person makes it look like more people have liked it than what's actually shown.
Also, you guys are basically talking about a rating system, but with more positive answers.

I managed to delete the cube in Blender and totally screw up all the settings somehow.
That's about it, though.

The one thing missing to make this more realistic as it already is: Chest movement. If it's there it isn't visible enough, it only seems as if the mouth moves without any "feedback". And another thing: Even tho there seems to be a strong wind there is no snow being blown away.
I know it's just a Test but this would make it a lot more believable :)

Some foxes and other tundra/arctic creatures are light enough not to leave visible indents in the snow, as to escape predators/chase prey easily

When you respire you breathe out water vapour, in cold environments the water condenses into the air. I love it when it's cold makes me feel as if I'm a misty-breathing dragon :)

I just started learning Blender, so I'm not much past the point of deleting the default cube. That said, amazing work! Epic camera moves, spectacular vistas, an arctic fox full of life and character--beautiful stuff!
