    As a postscript to a previous comment Andrew, I went over to Kerrera yesterday (without the Brompton bike) in the expectation of a mixed bag of weather. It was glorious but I took too much in terms of weight. That hill over from Little Horseshoe Bay took it out of this auld yin ahll tell ye!! The spot was beautiful. The views were gorgeous. The only blemish on a perfect day was an hour of heavy rain last night. Of course this coincided with my return from the castle. Soaked I was. On my return this morning I took note of the new road, leading to the north of island. It was completed in Spring. It leads off to the right as you leave the ferry slip. It has a wide compact surface and it seems to be without any major gradients. Worth exploring I think.

    Used to love diving up there. Once dived for scallops just off where you got on the ferry. Gently fried in butter and lemon juice....amazing. By contrast on another trip stayed in a B&B at the same spot ran by 2 old brothers. There was a film of dust on everything and the dampest sheets imaginable.

      Ideal on that trip, thanks again and I hope to use it more when it's the two of us, food prep room required :-)

      Aye, you'd love it ( pre midges too ) ! ;-)

      That's good to know. I wouldn't want to travel all the way from West Wales if it was midge season. So, mid June in Scotland is still okay, SOMETIMES?

    That sure was a beautiful place , when I got the boat from Oban to mull years ago I didnt even notice Kerrara was an island lol . The weather does play a big part , the xenon looked at home on the coast . atb Dave

    Scotland is always a sight for sore eyes..but Scotland in the sunshine 🌞 recharges the soul..just dug out my old helium ul2 for next week was surprised how much lighter it was than my niak with the black label poles and footprint over 500g in it..Will take the helium while the weather's like this

    How are you liking the tent?
    Took my Mirage Pro 300 out in heavy rain, it performed flawlessly

      Yep linking the F10 so far, does exactly what it says on the tin and comfortable for two yet light enough for 1. A

    A great wee destination Andrew and easily within reach from Oban. I have it marked down in my To-Do-List. Are the many tracks on the island easily negotiable by say a Brompton Bike? Or are the surfaces more suitable for the wheels of a standard hybrid or all-terrain bike?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you might struggle, there's a limited stretch of tarmac and the rest if fairly rough quad/landrover track stuff, doable probably but a hardtail MTB or maybe gravel bike would be ideal. A

    you've managed to pitch your Xenon UL2 far better than I've ever managed with mine......any tips?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Luck :-) All i tend to so is tighten it all round at the tension points after the silnylon relaxes from initial pitch. I think the heat kept it drun tight this time around. A
