It chooses the A321xlr over the 777x because it allows some new roots it would like to offer, which wouldn't fill nearly all of the 777x seats, but would the A321xlr It is noticed that boeing doesn't have an aircraft to match it. The closest rival to this is the 737max-10, but it still doesn't have the range.
The A321XLR seems like a solid choice for United Airlines, especially for long-haul routes to smaller markets. It's great to see Airbus innovating in this space.
The UNITED order for 50 A321XLR had been announced on Dec 3, 2019. May I politely ask why it is discussed now - without a single word about its aged status - and then put into the risible context of a hypothetical UNITED 777X order?
I doubt that Delta will buy the A321 XLR because they have a good blend of A321 CEOs and A321 Neos and A330 CEOs and NEOs so they can cover all the necessary Routes with one of those aircraft since the A330 has a range of 6,350 to 8150 nautical miles (11750 Km to 15,090 Km) depending on model. I get the feeling maybe they don't want to use a Narrowbody on long haul but instead use the A330 or A350 widebody depending on the route to be more competitive.
Brit here, never mind the video, its a fact that Boeing of old, would have finished the 777x and built a replacement for the 757 and would never contemplated the 737 max. So United looking a replacement for the 757, could only turn to Airbus for the A321xlr. The problem with Boeing, is not videos like this but that bloody awful management together with the hands off approach of the US government .Right now the 777x is 5 years behind and Emirates Ceo is complaining about it because their future arrangements are in jeopardy. It will be another year at least. It was Boeings chief CEO, Dave Calhoun who stated that Boeing would not build a replacement for the 757--so in essence, left United to get on with it. Boeing has been in trouble ever since the merger with McDonald Douglas and continues to forget its engineering base. Problems with Starliner and Air Force One don't do Boeings name any good either. It's truly about time things at Boeing were sorted out. Just forgetting about all the deaths and stolen money is not good enough.
DELTA is - unlike "my national airline" LUFTHANSA - not collecting types for fun (or for the sake of micro optimization based on guesswork) but building an all new fleet as part of a strategic concept. Part of this concept is to vastly expand its traditionally weak long range Pacific business. DELTA had inherited a large Pacific network with a total of 16 747s when swallowing NORTHWEST AIRLINES in 2008, then replaced those 747s with 17 units 777. But those were all retired during the politician-made Covid hystery crisis and then A350s ordered instead, along with A330neos. The total A350 order book now stands at 64 A350, of which 32 are already delivered. There is simply nop need and no slot for a 777X at DELTA.
United’s decision might push Boeing to rethink their strategies and innovations. It’s a dynamic time for the aviation industry with these kinds of moves.
It's amazing that no American carrier has ordered the 777-X. That's not a good look. The padding and repetition in this video is egregious. You had to get it over the 10 minute mark for the YT algorithm and it's obvious.
Patrick Quayle in an interview with Business Insider said, that the reason why they haven’t put in an order for the 777x-9 is not because they don’t think that it’s not going to be a good aircraft, but because it’s too large for airports here in the States. So I will go on to speculate that’s the same reason why American hasn’t ordered it and of course we know why Delta won’t order it. If Boeing does decide to build a passenger -8x, maybe then United and American might order it.
The transition from Boeing to Airbus could be a major shift for United Airlines. I wonder if other airlines will follow suit or if Boeing will come up with a competitive response.
Delta will not likely to follow since they usually send them customers to joint ventures partner, making them double connect at US hub and Asia or Europe hub
@AlbinaGomeso a number of airline companies have turned to airbus for their A320's after2 737 crashes from their MCAS and a doorplug blowout, and have lost trust, but they are having to wait because although airbus are building aircraft faster than boeing they have a massive backlog due to so many orders.
That is the trouble with many of the current text to speech programs. They are getting better. However, the person writing the script needs to give more thought to what they want the output to be and adjust the script text when the correct spelling creates the wrong output.
If United sets up a dedicated cargo division, they might consider the 777-8F for their needs. For passenger aircraft, the 777-8X seems a better fit for United than the 777-9X, given their size and hubs. While I love the 777-9X, the 777-8X would likely serve United’s capacity needs better. The 777-8X is smaller and has a longer range than the 777-9X. The 777-9X is designed to replace larger aircraft like the 747-8 and A380, which United and other American carriers have phased out due to high operating costs. In summary, the 777-8X is more suitable for United’s operations because it is smaller, travels further, and can carry more passengers than the 777-300ER. The 777-8X can accommodate about 384 passengers, while the 777-9X can carry around 425 in a two-class configuration. If United needs the additional capacity, they might consider the 777-9X, but the 777-8X seems to be the better overall fit.
United Airlines CEO revealed why say "NO" to BOEING and turn to AIRBUS ? Oh, I think United Airlines wanted to partnership with Delta Airlines as Delta Airlines says "NO" to BOEING and turn to AIRBUS. Even from Indonesia just like Garuda Indonesia, I need Indonesian flag carrier/Indonesia's National Airlines to say "NO MORE" BOEING for Indonesia as the world's biggest muslim population country ever like this and turn to AIRBUS for the future during Indonesia become the world's most developed country ever on 2045 years later. I think United Airlines wanted to choose AIRBUS over the BOEING same just like Delta Airlines for the future because, every long year of this 2024 every BOEING types just like 737 MAX, 777X and 787 got on crisis forever and ever year of this 2024.
never will fly a boenig again the look like count dracula cheap and not worth but the airbus sleak confortable and more for the inteligent coustumer not like the china, saudis and americans
This video is wrong united still has many boeing orders and ordered airbus many years ago prior to the merger with continental
Comparing the 321 and the 777X is mindless garbo.
Compare them here because of the demand of the airline, not for all context.

Sure.
The A321XLR's extended range and fuel efficiency could be a game-changer. United’s move might set a new trend for long-haul travel in Europe as well.
It seems that.

I’m curious about why United chose not to go with the 777X. It seems like a powerful aircraft that could have fit their needs.

I think it is because the 777X is too big for some airports and the A321 Neo is probably okay at most airports.
Next will be the Airbus A321-ULR.
@@thomassharp2719 I'm not sure about that one. The additional auxiliary fuel tank already takes up quite a bit of the cargo hold.

Very few American Carriers had the B747 and I think none had the A380 so not surprisiing at all.

Airbus has really made a mark with the A321XLR. United’s choice is a testament to its capabilities and potential for connecting less-served routes.
This is some seriously bad AI generated garbage.

KLM did it !
Once again discussing one aircraft while showing another. Plus the 777 has NOTHING to do with the A321XLR. Time to stop watching this channel.
With United moving to Airbus, what does this mean for their existing Boeing fleet? Will there be major changes to their current routes?
United Airlines’ decision to order 50 A321XLRs shows confidence in Airbus. It’s interesting to see how this will affect their route network.

United's shift from Boeing to Airbus is surprising. What factors played into this decision, and how will it impact their overall strategy?
We will continue the analysis in the next video
his shift to Airbus might signal a bigger trend in the industry. Are other major airlines also considering switching away from Boeing?
KLM did it !
Is it so difficult to upgrade b757 design and restart the manufacturing?
Yes.

Whoever is behind this yt channel should stop making negative videos about boeing 🤡
(No hate)
We'll try but they(Boeing) don't make their status better, in contrast more and more negative news.
Airbus shill?
777x is delayd abt.5 years.And new problens still.Many airlines like Emirates,Qatar,Lufthansa
think other company. The planemaker is Airbus.😎
