in my opinion there are still not enough 4GEN fighters to form the BR 12.7, neither maps nor adequate weapons. but they could already put a BR12.3 soon to at least isolate the 4GEN fighters from the match with 3GEN fighters since these are much inferior today
There is an issue with saying 'it is usually at 12.0 anyways' as that is not how stuff should be balanced, you need to look at what it is compared to, at its br, and then go fly a 10.3 and see how often you face these things... But I have never flown one so can't really comment on what br it should be
ask me if one day the MLD will also receive the R73 and R27R since originally it was equipped with these missiles even the R77 but this one I think is unlikely
Interesting fact: The real life MIg-23M and MLD pilot says that R-24 in terms of ballistics, Max Overload and range is the same as R-27R, the radar is the same as MiG-29 in many terms,the maneuverability is only slightly worse. The IRST system is better on MLD in terms of search on long ranges cause MiG-29 one is constructed first of all for close range combat superiority and HMD system (Its definetely worse than Su-27 IRST System). The MLD radar is definitely the same as N019 from 29 in terms of range and could search fighter size aircraft at middle altitudes at 80-90 km range. That guy even says when he take a seat on Su-27 after MLD he didnt get greatly surprised cause even 27 was not so ahead in overall performance than MiG-23MLD
The radar part sounds odd, without pulse doppler mld should match mig29's performance only at mid-high alt, but the performance of late 23s is indeed great. There are even several unconfirmed early f15/f16 dogfight kills for it, but we know, "f 15 had never been lost in air combat", but in heavy combat days us official maintenance losses climbs twice for these planes, probably due to actual combat damage, and r60's warhead isn't big enough to instanty kill a big plane
There will definitely be MLD equipped with R73, but it will not be added to the existing models. It is probably a special vehicle and then you will need it. You will definitely need it again. The way to obtain it is probably the same as A7K
They need to decompress BR, then make sure max BR offset is 0.3 or at most 0.7. 1.0 BR offset is significant enough. We also have many players than ever before.

I still think the f4s is better ^^ But in all seriousness the sheer number of decent fox1 is a huge advantage no one really talks about. Also the ability to practically auto lock via the acm modes from 19km or nearly with unlimited range in head ons while the mig 29 has 9km acm range seems pretty OP to me. So if the mld gets bumped up the f4s/j should too.
mayby they will add the MiG-23MLGD which has r73s r27s and a pulse dopler radar (Sapfir 23 MLA-II) but most likely it will be 11.7 and will be added when they add active radar missiles like the aim 120 or r77s
I don’t see why this is even a question. Everyone was so ready for the only good French plane (Mirage 2000) to get brought up to 11.7. Why not keep the same energy here? It’s an amazing plane, and I can get 4 kills a match with it quite often. At least 2. That’s just as well as I do with the Mirage.

Hell the F-4S is just as if not slightly more capable and definitely so when it comes to weapons and radar and the plane is 11.3. Mirage 2000C-S5 also 11.3 as well. The MLD at 11.7 gets outclassed heavily. The BIGGEST issue is BR compression. That needs to get fixed first, and then we can focus on aircraft balance.

They really really need to fix the Aim-54 phoenix' lofting. It's capabilities are essentially cut in half with it's flight modeling currently. 60km shots should be no issue for it. I mean I've smacked enemy out of the sky at 80 miles with the tomcat in dcs. And yes Im very aware that dcs has more modern variants of the 54 but that's not really an issue if you think about war thunders average map size.
Introduce br 13 (or 14) bring f 16, m29 to 13. put mld in 12.3, mla in 12 and m in 12 stretch all the brs starting from 7.7. should improve many aspects of the game. I am sick of constant uptier in 12.0 bc of repairfactory. I am also upset that my sabre has to fight against a su 25 or a f104 can’t catch one of them and the other one got r 60, if I am lucky I got 9Bs

Developer could add R-73 on MiG-23MLD and up to 11.7 but not sure this quarter or next quarter
Nah, MLD should kept at 11.3 with R-60M, it shouldnt get better, because if it get better missiles Will go up to 12.0 or even 12.3
The addition of the R-73 would do it just justice but would also be limited due to how early the radar of the MLD and ML/A are

Go for the Yak. Much stronger radar, R-27ERs, equally maneuverable and much better RP and SL multipliers.
Yak will be your best bet for a specialty aircraft with good missiles and flight capabilities

Mig 29 never works for me. ERs are sometimes too fast in close range shots they get outmaneuvered. Love this thing though
