I really want one of these! They look like they're used to lock prisoners up in a dungeon. I'll probably just use it on my shed. That's where I keep my prisoners.
In Pakistan, when you lose the keys, the locksmiths can clone a key in mere minutes. Have used their services for nearly every type of lock. But when it comes to this style of lock, they are so secure that the locksmiths dont even try and ask you to buy a new one. They are considered one of the most strongest and secure locks in Pakistan and cheap aswell. Come in all sizes. The one in the video is the medium sized one. Heavy too.
@@alexbadillo9940 The locks and keys have matching numbers punched onto the metal but they're not 100% unique ie Can have 0 - 100 unique combinations only. I bought about 10 locks and found three with a no 9 (same key). Ofcourse, had to unpack a lot at the hardware shop to find matches. Prefered matching numbers so I dont have to carry a heavy keychain
@@davidphillips2259 You would think that but one of my students worked in a factory like that. This inspector came in and made a big fuss about them sitting on the floor and insisted that they had to sit on chairs and wear safety shoes and all kinds of stuff so while the inspector was there they they did that. It looks like the factory inspector had won. 15 minutes after he left, everyone was back on the floor.

Skilled workers in horrible conditions. Great to lock up the cookie jar from the kids. After that, not much else is safe since everyone in the country has the same key. Thanks for the nice video.
These locks are really huge and also look very stable. I just didn't fully understand how these locks are specialized, so that not a single key can open all locks of this type. Did I miss this step? Or was this step not shown because it is a trade secret? Because if all these locks are COMPLETELY SAME, that would be a great craft, but it would miss the point and purpose of a padlock a little ...
It was omitted from the video. They don't all share the same key. Probably not a great idea to show all the inner workings of your padlock, especially the key locking parts. If they only had 1 key design for their padlocks, they would have been out of business a long time ago. lol
yea they all have keys with tube in them which is required for its mechanism, i remember as a kid when such a lock is obsolete grab an old key, put match stick powder in it with a nail head-side in the key, attach the key with a stick for leverage and strike it on ground or rocks. this made our firecracker bombs hehe :D
At the end of the day we see that a good amount of locks have been manufactured.I don’t discuss the quality because it is not in my acknowledgement.I’m seeing that they are very brave and courageous but I’m very curious to know, what is the cost to be more clean and ordered? In my opinion it’s nothing for the people who have been successful on this very hard work comparing the value obtained. Why don’t they do that? Is it a local culture that obviously I can not even imagine or a tradition that it’s not my business to interfere? What is this?
Hey mustafa you must be from Turkey. These are poor vendors who have opened up these cottage industries in their homes. They have the skill and some broken machines that they make into use and make products. This is a step up from their previous life. That's the thing, they barely earn to feed themselves 2 times and send their kids to school. There is nothing left to invest in safety anf health and cleanliness. Ofcourse they clean themselves after work properly. But they don't when they are working.. I think when they get their due and their educated and skilled next generation would be more cleaner, more prone to safety. Infact all of these men have dirty work clothes which they wear in the factories and when hey return home they wear their own clean clothes. The quailty of the lock is really good
I love their dedication, I mean putting all that effort just to make a paperweight. Much respect for the craftmanship.

If the levers are uniform in all locks, the key will be the same to open all locks.
Every lock and key set can be unique if the teeth and the levers are filed randomly. But it's still easy to open for its simple design.

if your ques was if that particular key goes in all these different locks, no
Lock companies make batches keyed the same to streamline production, then use another pattern for their next batch
more art then security,
the hinge pin is the weak link, a sharp chisel + one blow and the lock is open.
Что то я сомневаюсь у них, включи разные, такое ощущение что у них 1 ключ на все замок
It's not stainless steel but only steel. Stainless steel doesn't catch rust.
In Pakistan, any steel without stains is stainless

Чем больше надписей на замке, тем он круче и дороже :)) Странно, что они их не красят. Были бы ещё наряднее.

Most people aren’t aware, this is the way much manufacturing was done prior to the computer. Humans were employed.

Still more secure than Master lock.
Meu Deus como que dão conta de ficar sentado o dia inteiro com as pernas cruzadas desse jeito
Одним ключём можно откирыть все замки)))
Lock companies make batches with the same key pattern to streamline production. Then use a different pattern for their next batch.
Cool, but where?
я думаю достаточно набора из 6 разных вариантов ключей чтобы открыть любой из этих замков :)
