The weird thing is that her politics are actually pretty typical for her demographic, and although she can be a bit bombastic in her critiques of the rich, powerful, and stupid, she is pretty moderate in her opinions, if not in her artistic expression of those opinions.

I would also venture of guess he's never looked into any of the MIT LSD studies, the Stafford prison experiment, the Murray Interrogation experiments, or even something basic like the WWII German and Japanese medical studies featuring Jewish and Chinese human test subjects (respectively) far enough to gain an appreciation for the fact that science can (and often does) venture into the horribly, horribly unethical and downright terrifying.
Often times the desire for increased knowledge outweighs conscious respect for humanity inside of the class of people who dedicate their entire lives to their studies... Especially when that compulsion for further breakthroughs comes with the backing of a blank check.
But I'm sure I'm just a loon who has read to much fiction, probably.
