Happy Tails I have to tell you something My friend just got 2 guinea pigs and she doesn't take care of them the correct way. All she "feeds" them bedding and their poop. I'm making them a little salad and also one is a male and one is a female and I think the female might be pregnant thank you in advance.
That's nice of you to make them a salad. The male and female should be separated, I'm sure by now she is pregnant.

I had two male guinea pigs that I loved very, very dearly. I took very good care of them, spoiling them eventually. My boys would screech happily every time I walked into the room. They stayed in a 4 foot cage (a bit too small, but they always cuddled and never fought) as well. Unfortunately, my older male guinea pig passed away a few months ago. I believe that he was a year or so older than my other guy. It was a devastating loss. I don't want to get another guinea pig for my other male, as I'm afraid that he'll become territorial and pick fights. I can only hope that I gave him the best life possible.

I am so very sorry for your loss. These are my tips; get a bigger cage and see if your guinea pig is showing signs of depression (you can google guinea pig depression signs). If your Guinea pig is showing depression for many weeks (as closely bonded piggies will mourn for a week or so) then it most likely means your pig wants a friend. I hope I helped! Again, I am very sorry for your loss

What guinea pig has the softest fur?
adam heeley From what I've noticed, most guinea pigs have about the same softness of hair, except texels, hairless, and teddy's/rex's. Baby guinea pigs are the softest, but they will not be a baby forever, I would say abbysinian's are the softest but that's just my personal opinion

They're like freaking Pringles & tats. It's just that I have two males already... & I wish I could get more. But I don't want to fix any small animals bc I don't want them to have complications. & I don't want an army of them either. Not bc I wouldn't love them, & bc I don't think they're adorable enough. Bc they completely r. I just know realistically I couldn't handle that much responsibility. They really r the perfect pets for me. I was wondering how I could leave them when I go on vacation. But scratch. They're independent. All I need is a week's worth of water, hay, & food. & They'll be set. I'd be pretty impressed if I saw someone handle that many males together. I've only seen it on saskia la rescue channel. 🤔 Wever she calls it. But they're like in a barn.

My friend wants me to take her guinea pig because she can't take care of him, it's a single male and my parents dont really want anymore animals so I'd only be allowed to keep one. Is that ok? I really want to bring him to a better home but will he really be in a better home if he has no cagemates?
+Miranda Random I always say no to having only one guinea pig. But in this situation I would definitely encourage you to give him a better life. He is already by himself, probably doesn't have good care and it sounds like you really want to provide him with a better life. It's always better to have two, but there are some situations like this one, where a better home is more important than a cage mate. Hope that helps.
Miranda Random I'm literally in the same situation right now my friend is moving and doesn't have a home for her guniea pig and she does not take care of it anyway now she has it in a cat carrier and it is so small so I want to help him but parents said they don't want more animals but I really want to help him

My parents are finally getting me a guinea pig. I have a HUGE cage (XL Bunny Business Run) and I have been doing research and buying supplies for over 10 months now. I'm adopting from my local shelter, but they said he should be kept alone as he has been his whole life. I have enough room and money to get another one-- but I'm wondering if I should. Can someone please help?
+queen noa he might do well with a friend. You can take him to a shelter or pet store and introduce him to another guinea pig before deciding to buy the guinea pig. Unless he is fixed, it should be another male. If they get along that is great, if they fight then he should be kept alone.

Dolly Plays NO, that still would not be enough. You are not a guinea pig , so you cannot provide the socialization that a guinea pig needs. Don’t get me wrong , they do need socialization with humans , but imagine you, as a human , being in one room with your only friend being a giraffe that you could never talk to . As stupid as my analogy may seem, most rodents NEED to be with a member of their own species .

Could you do more about Guinea pigs? I am doing a lot of research about guinea pigs because I'm interested in getting two of them in about a month. I have picked out a cage (interesting enough, it was the same one you unboxed for your guinea pigs on your YT channel haha) but I would love to know more about bathing Guinea pigs, some bad things for them, and the most essential things for them. Great video. We have three guinea pigs in a C&C cage. We also just got a puppy to be my Emotional Support Dog. My PTSD had gotten out of control and my treatment plan needed a change, and this is what my doctors, husband, and I agreed on.
We want to make sure Leia (the dog) sees them as little puppies instead of little lunches. Our vet thinks we should get her used to them when she’s a baby so she’s less likely to be aggressive when she is older. Do you have any suggestions as to now to do that? She’s a 12 week old Beagle mix.

+Kylie Johnson Hi! I owned green tree frogs. I had some bad experiences and ended up deciding that even though frogs were super cute, I didn't like having them as pets. But those green tree frogs are good for beginners.

If you can't get your hands on making a C&C cage then get a Midwest guinea pig cage I know that you can find at petco they are very similar to C&C and are big for about 3 depending on how much hides and toys you put in

Amazing video, though boars are sometimes known to be agressive towards eachother, and female with males can be good if they're spayed or neutered. This mostly depends on the personalities though, and if you have a female. Otherwise I totally agree with your video, and my piggies do too!
hello :) great video ! i’m getting two guinea pigs on sunday and i live in the uk .. the climate is really odd here and can get very cold and very hot but the only place they can go is the shed . should i try get a heater to go inside the shed or should they be ok ??

I had 3 abyssian guinea pigs. 1 at one time, and 2 and another. All three male. Both ‘pairs’ from different places, but all pet stores. My cage was very big and usually clean. The bedding was fleece and they had right foods and water, no wheels or balls, but they all died in less than a year. The first had a heat stroke after being outside for about half an hour with 4 other guinea pigs the neighbor had in which were absolutely fine. And the next died a few days after somehow grabbing a charger from a while away from the cage and chewing it up, he went from perfectly healthy to horridly ill with much constipation and died after only a day or two which I assume is due to the charger. No vets were available, so I only could clean his bum and try to rehydrate him. Nothing worked well. The next randomly died as well a few weeks later, I assume of depression from the loss of his companion or a spider bite.. but that wouldn’t make sense as my house is pretty clean & spider free. I don’t know why I wished to share this- but I’ve never truly known why they all died so early, as these are all assumptions, or how a guinea pig could reach through bars of a cage and grab a charger lying at least a few inches away. I don’t know if I was just a horrible owner, as sometimes I did forget to clean the cage for a while, or for another reason. I know that specific breed is much more prone to illness, but my second one went from perfect health to fur lacking all volume (we named him Rooster because he always had a ‘tail’ sticking up) and flattened, with bone showing and eyes crusted as well as constipation?

If you use a cage then can you make a cage tour video? At the moment I only have 1 guinea pig but Hopefully I will be getting a second one soon. 1) would you recommend 2 or 4 guinea pigs to live together? (A. I'm a beginner with guinea pigs and b. I was thinking about getting the living world cage you unboxed and set up. Is that big enough for 4 guinea pigs if that's your recommendation?)
2) Would you recommend boys or girls?
3) Do you have to buy specific fleece for them or can you just go to Michaels or a craft store? (I don't know if they treat the ones in stores with anything dangerous for guinea pigs?)
4) You said they need toys, does that mean like lots of toys (not enough to fill up the cage like for rats but enough that they have lots of different options) or just enough to keep them busy?

Hi, my 10 year old brother had a yellow betta fish that he loved very much named Cheddar and one day, he came to feed him and he was just laying at the bottom of the cage, dead. What was strange was that his stomach was enormous and red. I'm not sure what could've happened, do you know what might've happened to Cheddar? He's very sad and he's not getting another betta fish to replace him or anything. He was doing perfect then he suddenly died. Thanks Happy Tails!
Also, I really want a guinea pig, I only did 5 months of research and I can't get one. I really want one and every time I go to Petsmart, I always hold this one sweet one that I named Cherry ( he's a boy, but that's all I have thought of). He is super nice and squeals when I hold him. I research about 10-20 minutes a day. I love them so much and I want one for Christmas and I've asked a lot of times but they said that I already have birds, a rabbit learning how to use the litter box ( please help me with litter training ahh! ), and an aquarium, and outdoor rabbits. I take amazing care for them but they said I have too many pets. I know they like Cherry, every time I go to see him, they pet him and he's so friendly to them and they love him and I want to get him before he's been there to long and probably euthanized. Hi! Ive had guinea pigs almost my whole life, my first guinea pig was only herself and no one else but I had always given her lots of attention almost every day. After she had passed I had gotten 2 guinea pigs, shortly after the sister had gotten very sick and passed away. After that I just had my guinea pig Daisy, 3 years later she has been alone since and Ive been looking into getting another guinea pig for her. She is not spayed so my question is would a neutered male be okay or would another female be better(if I got a female she would already be spayed since I would be getting her from a rescue)?

Hi I’m in need of some help. I have had my guinea pig , who is a runt, for over a year now and just realized through your video of donuts that having a companion is not optional. I would like to pair her with another female but, would it be best to pair her with another runt since she is one or would it be ok to pair her with a normal sized piggy. I don’t want her to get picked on because that’s the situation she was in before I rescued her. Thank you for any help you can supply.

Happy tails can guinea pigs swap between being outside and inside because in summer I keep them outside and in winter I keep them inside and if it ever gets to hot can I put frozen water in a plastic container?🐹🐹🐹
I know you said fleece is the best, but would the foam mats that connect work? They have texture, not slick.
