Excellent video! Today we've got access to unlimited information at our fingertips, but back then people had to figure things out for themselves. Lots of perseverance and trial and error went into building those early racers. What's even more impressive is just how far Alberta is from the early hotbeds of racing/hot rodding in the USA. They had to rely on their own ingenuity and determination to get things done. Thanks for keeping history alive!

A remarkable story from a remarkable time. The war which impacted everyone’s lives was over, there was hope for the future, if not a lot of money to be found. The massive postwar industrial boom was a couple of years away and people were trying to get back into a familiar way of life. Men who’d learned their trades, or honed their trades in the military had knowledge and enthusiasm, and turned tired cars which had only survived due to wartime shortages, into speed machines. The scrapping of war machines provided an unexpected bonus by way of parts and materials, especially lightweight seats as seen here!
Thank you, Matt and Jim, for sharing such wonderful videos. As a proud patron of the channel, I’m glad to be able to offer a wee bit of support. Cheers from Australia!

    * Great Episode Gents. Younger folks aren't big on tradition. Which is a shame. People should respect the history as it's what got us to where we're at. Your channel stands for tradition and that's why I love it. Great cars and great history. You gents are so lucky to be able to work doing the things you love and respect. The watch is so special. What a present ! 👊😎👍

Great trio of old Ford race cars. The fact that they all share local history on the track makes it even more special. Watching the race itself was a hoot. Think it's great that Matt gets into wearing period hat, helmet, coveralls, even the wristwatch! Still hoping to see Jim's Mark II getting some work done in the garage before long.

    Dear Matt and Jim.
👍👌👏 Your shop becomes more fantastic with every video. Congratulations 🎉 The very special watch is a super rare and beautiful item. Congrats again. 2) Free hand painting and pinstriping is simply a fantastic kind of artwork paired with great craftsmanship (and a steady hand plus good eyes). 3) The model T races look like really great fun but also pretty dangerous for the drivers. Absolutely no protective gear at all. Not much brakes too (if any). Pretty scary if such a vehicle would roll over.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
