Heavy arrows, light arrows, fast arrows or slow. Theres infinite debate about the best arrow for whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, antelope or any other species. I think theres a perfect middle ground around 450grains with a 65-80# bow.
This is, in my opinion the perfect do it all hunting arrow, versatile for any game in North America. In this video I do an arrow build, building a match grade arrow for bowhunting

Spine consistency is way more important than matching weights. Straightness is important but most people can't shoot the difference between the 006 or a 001.

I always had more issues trying to tune 4mm arrows I went back to standard diameter can cut my arrows shorter and they just tune out for me way easier still getting pass throughs

Fair, I cut mine very short too. 27” arrows at 28.5” draw length and they’ve tuned great for me. Both victory and easton 🙏

If you would switch from aae max stealth vanes to tac driver 2.75 vanes you could cut about 12gr off the back of your arrow. You could then use a lighted nock and be at the same weight and foc, or just be 12gr lighter increasing your foc. If you can get max stealths to stick, youll have no issues with tac vanes. Edit: I have successfully fletched tac driver vanes using the mini max left helical, even though I've watched videos saying you can't. Actually worked better than my bitz jig.

From my experience with a hooter shooter at 30 inside a building spine indexing gave better results than up to 5 grains weight difference. 28” shaft cut with added nock and glue in target points. FOC was 14%. On a 1/4” wide horizontal line for reference the heavier by 5 grain arrows hit consistently 3/8 to 1/2” lower. Most were the 3/8”. BLACK EAGLE Carnivore shafts. In the field at normal hunting shot distances like 30-35 yards? the weight difference is a non issue. How many hunters can hit within a 1/4” of the spot they want to hit on a live animal?

I think modern bowhunters are forgetting why we choose to bowhunt in the first place. We want to get close to the animal. If we can not get close to the animal, then we need to work on becoming a better hunter. I have shot a 715 grain arrow going 241 fps since 2018 and make a conscious decision to shoot only out to 40 yards. I have taken Whitetail, Pronghorn, and Elk with this arrow and am still batting a thousand so far. Anyway, your arrow weight is totally fine and lethal. I am not trying to get you to second guess yourself. For your Pronghorn and Axis deer hunt, I recommend setting up a blind at a water hole. If you can spot and stalk them, that is a definite feather in your cap.

The titles kill me in the youtube archery world. So misleading to new archers who dont know better.
