      True Bleau Hartley.
      Alternatively go with Kerdi-Board and make your own! 😉

    My tile gap is only 1/16 and the tiles are ceramic subway tile. What do you recommend for creating the notch space of 3/16? Since the tile is already installed, I'm concerned about cracking the tile.

    Can you use grout to fill the holes?

    • @schlutersystems1
      @schlutersystems1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! A sealant should be used, rather than grout, because the sealant acts as a "glue" and is much more flexible than grout, which is helpful in the shelf installation. Hope that helps!

    What's the weight capacity?

    • @schlutersystems1

      Hi Dylen, We have designed and tested the shelves to ensure that they are suitable for the intended use. Such uses include storage of toiletries, kitchen goods, and even installation as a foot rest for shaving one’s legs. However, we will not publish maximum load ratings. There are no industry standards or requirements for this kind of evaluation and our opinion is that publishing such information can invite misuse of the shelves, such as standing on them to clean shower walls, change lights, etc. This would be dangerous in that there is a significant risk of injury from slipping and falling.

      Hi there, we don’t have a video for that, unfortunately, but we did share some pictures from an installer on our FB Page last Friday who installed the shelf in his tile. You would need to cut the tab sections out of the tile prior to tile installation. It wouldn’t work in a retrofit application, however, where you might damage the waterproofing. Here’s a peek at what Quillen Tile Works (@quillentileworks on IG) did in his shower: facebook.com/schlutersystems/photos/pcb.4293287834017467/4293286927350891

      @@schlutersystems1 Thank you. My tile is already installed. However, it's 3/8" thick, and behind it is cement board with 4 coats of waterproofing on top. I've measured the depth on my diamond blade, and I won't pass through the tile. I guess I was looking for some tips, but from what I can tell, I just need to notch the tile with the blade to a depth matching the tang on the shelf.
