I have worked for an audio company that sold AudioQuest and we all knew they didn't make a difference! I know people who worked at UpScale Audio that have said the same thing also, that the only reason they sell products like AudioQuest is for customers who truly believe (The definition of believe; accept that (something) is true, especially without proof.) that it makes a difference in their setup. There is a great video on youtube where they do a blind listening test with Klipsch Lascala and in one test they use the AudioQuest Niagra power conditioner, the other they didn't use the $10,000 conditioner, and they preferred the setup WITHOUT the conditioner. Also, keep on deleting my comments and I will come back and repost them. Garth, you and your team deserve to be put behind bars.
Exactly. One can claim 'we measured' and we did 'extensive testing' and 'blind testing' but there is no scientific proof. I also see my comments have been deleted. Way to run a channel. Not once in the ENTIRE video did I see any measurements.
I don't know anything about AudioQuest but I make up my own cables using Solid Core OFC in a Cotton Dielectric and some really nice copper connectors. After replacing all my cables in the chain I could noticeably hear a difference. But I spent maybe $100 per set of cables. I would probably put my cables up against there's in a blind test
I think very highly of Garth Powell because I’ve listened to his cables and a loom of AQ cables in systems and he delivers superior results. In that regard I’m in good company with critical listeners such as Tom Martin of the Absolute Sound. Kudos to Garth Powell and this channel.
Also most if not all surge protectors you buy are non-sacrificial. I've been using the same Monster and Belkin surge protectors for 10+ years now and they've gone through several electrical outages, voltage fluctuations, surges and still running and not once did anything fry or go kaput on me. And I have hooked up thousands of dollars worth of gear in it, not to mention I trust them with my entire photo and film studio PC setup at home with a dozen backup hard drives.
