I know this is a joke, but I’m going to throw this out anyways. She doesn’t just make them happy, she puts them in a state of extreme mania. It’s nice to be happy, but an elevated level like that can make it difficult to function in everyday life. Just ask anyone with a manic disorder. The comedown from that state is also horrid. The higher you climb, the harder you fall. Some people with depression who suffer from suicidal thoughts/ideation can actually follow through with their plans because they’ll finally have the energy to do so. That’s one of the reasons why psychiatrists are supposed to carefully monitor and adjust the dose of medication/s in patients with those symptoms.

Of course after the epoisde Oliver goes back to his normal personality. Renee would be like think I liked you better as a party guy.
