BJRY 701 is now parked north of the 2800 block of Chestnut Street in Quincy next to the shuttered Moorman Manufacturing facility. I've read that it's being used for parts to keep #702 going.

These are such cool engines. There is one of the original 26 parked about five minutes down the street from my house on a local branch line. It's been out of service for many years but it is fully intact and being preserved. It's the former Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific #423 it's had a few different owners and has been repainted since, it's some weird blue color now but mostly rusty looking. Pretty cool getting to see something in person that only 26 where made. Best wishes !

Thank you for taking the time to hunt down Alco's & MLW locomotives. The people World Wide who love these locomotives appreciate it. Great start up catch !

I love that the 702 still has its full Espee light package - awesome! Thanks very much for this!

I was an engineer for 36 years and ran a lot of ALCo's, loved those machines. I ran mainly the RS11 and S2 and S4. I can't understand why they came up with that configuration. 20/20 hindsight, why didn't they move the cab towards the short hood and turn the machinery around normal? They would have sold a lot more than 26.

Now if only a HO manufacturer would produce this locomotive in HO.

model power made one, you can use the shell and I think Pacific Northwest Resin may release a shell kit soon. Other then that, Overland brass when you can find on on Ebay

@@yrunaked4 Correct. I am waiting on Bowser,Proto 2000,Scale Trains or Rapido to hash out one. Making one as you suggested from the various manufacturer listed. Don't you need a milling machine for the frame or advanced machining capability ? In my humble opinion. Rapido or Bowser either these companies will make a C-415 at some point. Hopefully. Thank you for the reply. Every bit helps.

@@ModelingSteelinHO Bowser has shelved their C-415 project . Brass ones were made by Overland and Precision Scale Company. Overland did several versions and are great models.

Great video! Thanks for recording these relics. I too, wish someone would make these in plastic.
At least record the sound for future projects. Love the old Alcos.

American trains and track and lifeLike produced this engine in HO, and of course some brass manufacturers too.

I was talking about a manufacturer like Walther's Proto Alco C-415 in HO. I've been bugging the top HO manufacturers for years to produce these in HO. They'd sell like hotcakes. I have a AT&T C-415 that runs as good as a toaster, lol.

I could be wrong here but I believe they were built with three cab heights. The Pennsylvania Railroad Museum has one on display. 👽

You are correct - three cab heights were offered.

And…Alco parts are not too difficult to find. Way easier than finding EMD 567A parts.
