Thanks for showing this, Grace, I enjoyed it immensely. I hate warping back to front and didn't know any better until I watched Tom Knisely's video on front to back and it made so much more sense to my brain. I hope to try it on my next project.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'm sure Tom is more adept than I am at warping in general but glad to provide my input. Front to back does seem easier to me on the table loom but I'll stick with BTF on the big floor loom. But everyone is different and you should try different methods until you find something that makes sense to you. Thanks for watching!

Agree. Dont hate BTF, learned it first, but once I learned from Tom, FTB has worked every single time, with no tension issues like Ive had with BTF. Nice explanation of winding two threads Grace!

Thanks Grace. I warp back to front but it is always good to know there is another way.

You're so welcome! I too normally warp BTF but sometimes you might want to warp FTB. Thanks for watching.

That was very interesting. I have always dressed my Ashford 8 shaft table loom from back to front. I think I will stick with that way but good to see how you do it. Thank you.

I learned to dress my loom back to front (BTF) and normally dress my floor loom that way but found I fumbled a lot when dressing the table loom BTF so I thought I'd try FTB and found it feels a lot easier. I'm not sure why but I'll probably stick to FTB for the table loom and BTF for the big floor loom. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching.

Thanks Grace, So many little tricks! One of the best was to have the cross on the opposite end of the warp start; that way I can keep the loops and cut at the cloth/breast beam.
One I haven't seen, I put old curtain rods, with the curved ends, over the beams and lay the lea sticks over them. Quick, easy, no trouble at all.
Have you read 'The Fabric of Civilization'? We're in good company.

Glad you found my tips helpful. I've not seen the one with the curtis rod either. I've used dowels though. Have not read that book either. I'll have the check it out. Thanks for the ideas and thanks for watching.

You should have the locking pins on each side of the beater bar so you don't have that far to reach over the beater bar.

I did use the pins but the holes are fairly far back. Mostly it just seemed awkward because I'm used to the big loom 😊

You are doing this the hardest way possible. there is an easier way. Just watching you turn the yarn hook every time is exhausting.

Haha imagine how exhausting it was doing it. I'm sure there is an easier way. As I mention in the video, I don't warp ftb normally so I'm no expert. I'd love to know the easier way. Thanks for watching though.
