It's so trippy seeing so many Warframe details and design cues in this proto form. They eventually even added the ability to wield a glaive weapon and handgun at the same time like Hayden in WF. Man they've come a long way.

with discs that don't work always hold it up to a light and see if you see topside holes. The disc information is just under the paint on the top if the disc and the tiniest of scratches or damage will render it useless.

Both this game and the reveal trailer (which show how different the initial vision for this game was) are littered with things that worked their way back into Warframe. Tenno, the lotus, large 4-legged combat drones, the virus in this game is essentially the Technocyte virus from Warframe, just not airborne. And that's just stuff from the game itself.
This was the first game I bought with my own money back in the day. Loved the dark art lol and the music. It was an ok story and it was the first game I beat on 100 % on the 360. The 360,and the ps3 all had grey brown contrast colors. Gears fallout uncharted 2 Metal gear solid

Shedding some light on the copyright issue: Digital Extremes is now %97 owned by a Chinese holding company called Leyou. Not sure if the management is still in Canada, but their copyright assets are def held elsewhere.
Don't know if you've already done these, but two good early 360 titles would be Bullet Witch and Lost Planet. Bullet Witch is hilariously bad, but I loved it.
As clunky as this game felt to me, I thought the idea/concept was really cool actually. I remember reading GI articles leading up to release and loving the glaive/arm. And once you got the armor that was some real anime hype. Generic, but I loved it.
I remember this was the first "next gen" game shown off, and it was all set in space... then it all changed to something a little more generic but i still have a soft spot for this game though, and of course it turned into Warframe. Hayden Tenno. Lol.

So Matt I’m not 100% sure on this, but there’s a possibility your 1st disc of this game may not have been able to read due to disc-rot if the disc was significantly discolored and very rusty-brown looking.
The ricochet physics on the glaive seem way more responsive here, the mods seem less broken because they’re not in an endlessly scaling RPG, and picking elements up from the environment seems way more dynamic than pre-modding elemental weaknesses for optimal damage. This game has its own broken shit, like free finishers when invisible, but it also has a lot of anti-mindlessness tech in play.
I don't believe DE, there's no way Dark Sector isn't connected to warframe. That monster in the intro is literally a warframe, the infestation is literally the technocyte virus, Hayden's last name is TENNO, there are references to "the lotus". it's just all there. Personally I have no reason not to believe this is how the warframe universe started and it's a HUGELY missed opportunity for Digital Extremes to say it isn't. Like did they think it would hurt sales or make more work for them? There are literally alternate universes in WF so why not just say yes?

that's actually only with cds. dvds have the disc information pressed between two layers of plastic.
This actually helped make the game warframe but this game needs a remaster or remake. It's actually pretty fun
