As a child and always going to church with my parents and siblings, I used sit near choir and loved to hear them sing, I grew up, left the catholic church went my own way(joined the Baptist fellowship where I got to know what Bible studies is all about)missed most of this beautiful hymns and had some of them plus some gospel songs recorded on cassettes for me, some got jammed, while others like "Abide with me" just disappeared, then smart phones emerged and I learnt to browse and boom i reconnected with my childhood love (hymns of old) and many other blessings. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏🔥 🕊️ Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Jesus is worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. I love this hymn--- reminds me of Isaiah 40. "To whom then will will ye liken me, or shall I be equal, safety the Holy One;""..also verse 15 behold the nations are as a drop of a bucket:: and are counted as the small dust of the balance:: behold he taketh up the isles as a very little thing..
Had to do a few search runs to find this. I remember singing this as a boy about 4 or 5 growing up in Georgia. Now I'm fixing to be 33. How time flies! I thank God for every year of it!
This song is a nice counterpoint with women singing the first line, men the second, and the choral, the last line. The soprano voice "humming" throughout the final line is a nice touch.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you. There is no counterpoint in this hymn arrangement and the choir is badly out of tune.
