You know Kane is good when Cornette can't find anything to complain about. Unlike most wrestlers, Kane has managed to stay clean, civil and play the game and survive.
Glenn "Kane" Jacobs got elected (very well educated, successful businessman, superstar wrestler). Now when you say someone from another city "My mayor can beat yours" it means figuratively and for real. haha
Playing Yankem and Diesel says something about Glen Jacobs. He never complained, stayed on until they gave him the excellent Kane gimmick. Truly a good employee.
No, he still is fucking awesome. He might not be that unbeatable monster anymore, but he looks great, one of the few colorful, superhero type characters left, attitude era legend, still moves fantastically for a near 50 year old guy, and as Jim said, one of the nicest figures ever in wrestling. Just because someone prefers putting people over more than winning doesn't mean they're not awesome anymore.
NickRedMachine thanks for making sense and using good points to back up your point of view. I view wrestling in a ol school way..I pretend records mean something!
I like Kane and Undertaker and always will. Even if they both are getting older I still have so much respect for them. I mean I heard Kane say that one thing he learned from Undertaker that really helped him is go out there rather you are sick or hurt or just don't feel like it and give it your best. Undertaker and Kane do just that. I really respect all wrestlers. Maybe it is because they can do something I know I can't. I can maybe hit that hard mat a couple times and then I would be like that is it for me. I am out of shape and couldn't anyways. I do wonder how Big Daddy V and other larger wrestlers were able to continue to wrestle. They were truly special like YokoZuna. I might not spelled that right but you know who I mean. Anyways to do it once or twice I might be able to do but 5 days a week. All year round. Year after year. All the travel. All the time away from home. I got to admit if you don't love wrestling you won't last long. It is a hard life but has great rewards. For me I would be to nervous to get in front of that many people. Even if I am just standing there doing nothing most of the time or like a manager I still would not like the camera on me. So to me that would not be a reward because I would not like it. The money would be cool but I am not much for fame. I love to watch wrestling but I am not in love with it and would not want to do it. I couldn't do it because it is too hard of a life style for me. I mean if I was in shape and I liked fame and could handle the rough schedule it would be different. I don't have a desire to put my body through hell. That is what makes me respect them all. Even if they are having normal matches it is like they do it 4 or 5 days a week and maybe more. I watched a live show in my town and thought they are not going to do much special tonight because it was not Raw or Smackdown or anything taped. It was March 17, 2018 in Tulsa. I remember it was Kane vs Braun Strowman in a match that was brutal. All the matches were great. I got to see Nia Jax attack Bliss before it happened on Raw. It was right after Alexis talked bad about her and it went over the air. I mean every match was special. It was not just the beers in my hands. Lol! No I never thought I see Kane live. I mean I totally forgot everything as time stood still. I have only seen two shows live in my life. One was Smackdown in 2012. Randy Orton and Big Show were the biggest names. Sheamus too. And get this Daniel Bryan was Champion and heel and many didn't like him. My oh my how times have changed. That show was more rushed but the one I saw a few weeks back was not on television and the matches seemed to go a little longer. I wish I got to see Dean but I got to see Seth and Balor. I got to see Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy who got big pops. I thought John Cena and Roman Reigns only got booed but when I was in the crowd and they came out it got the best pops. I mean it was loud. Most of it was Cheers unlike when I see it on Raw. I guess getting booed just sounds louder when you are watching on TV because most of the crowd was cheering. I mean you still had the John Cena sucks area but it was drowned out by the Cheers. I don't think neither man sucks myself and I will never because I can't walk in their shoes and know what they go through. I mean it is a hard business. I do think though they should of turned heel or just did something different with their characters. I mean you have to change your character or people will get bored with it.

I mean I respect the Undertaker a whole lot and that is saying something about Kane. I think if they both came into the business at the same time He would of been alot bigger. I don't know though because alot of people who come in and are family one usually gets a bigger push. I mean Edge was pushed bigger than Christian. Bubba Ray more than D-von. I mean fake Diesel or a dentist. Come on Wwe. How stoned were you when you came up with that. I am glad Undertaker wanted Glenn Jacobs to play Kane. Can you really see anyone else doing it? Remember fake Kane? It was a nightmare. Nothing against Luke Gallows but fake anyone never works and Wwe need to get that through their heads. Kane playing fake Diesel didn't work. Luke Gallows playing Kane didn't work. It was really bad with the fake Kane because the real Kane was on the show too. Fake Undertaker didn't work. Remember Undertaker vs Undertaker? If you don't you are not alone. It might of sounded good on paper but who would ever believe it. I knew it was not the real Undertaker when I first seen him. He was a tiny bit shorter and you can tell his face was different. I hate when wrestling tries to insult our intelligence. It is like Sin Cara. It was obvious to me that they changed the guy under the mask because he moved different in the ring. Now it took a little longer for me to notice him because he looked the same size and wore a mask. I noticed though he moved different so I looked it up on the internet to see if he was hurt and that is why he was moving different. Found out it was not even the same guy. Remember when Undertaker was dressed like Kane? Undertaker really sold it. I mean he did everything Kane would do. I mean Undertaker never stepped over the top rope like Kane but he did when he was dressed like Kane. I knew it was Undertaker because one thing gave it away. Well 2. One is Kane had a little bit bigger arms. He was jacked up more. But that was not what gave it away the most. It was his hair. Kane had brown curly hair and at that time Undertaker had black straight hair. Remember Kane dressing up like Undertaker. Now Kane looked more like Undertaker because his hair looked darker that day and he had fake tatoos. He looked just like Undertaker except he had the mask on. It could of been Undertaker playing mind games with Stone Cold because he was about to face him. The thing that gave it away was Glenn Jacobs ( and I respect him) moved around like Kane instead of the Undertaker. I mean at first he did the long slow walk but when he fought Stone Cold it became obvious it was Kane. Now when Undertaker dressed up like Kane again when Undertaker was heel and part of the ministry Kane's hair was now black but those arms gave it away but I got to say that time really fooled me until the moment I saw those arms which I didn't notice until Vince got in the ring right before Undertaker unmasked. But those were fun times and Undertaker and Kane were already over. When you are already over it doesn't matter who you act like. Look how many over guys acted like Hulk Hogan. It didn't hurt their careers but to have someone debut acting like someone else is stupid. I mean I was sad to see Scott Hall and Kevin Nash leave Wwe. I always was a Wwe guy. It was nothing personal I just liked Undertaker and Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart and many other superstars. I was not crazy about some of the more ridiculous characters and probably would of jumped ships if it was not for the Wwe superstars I did like. Now I know the Undertaker gimmick was awful but Mark Calaway made it into something special and unique. The gimmick itself sounded awful but he made it amazing! Only Mark could do that. But back to fake Diesel. I was sad to see them go. I was a teenager and I really liked them. I mean Kevin Nash or Diesel I mean vs Shawn Michaels was a great match and then it was like they were gone after that. Then Wwf writers got stoned or drunk as hell and decided to have a fake Diesel and fake Razor Ramon. I mean they had to be out of their minds to think that would work or even be entertaining. It pissed people including myself off. Did they really think people would be fooled or it would be entertaining? Did they really think that helped their business. I would love to find the person who came up with that idea and slap the piss out of them. That kind of writing is why WCW had bigger ratings at that time. I mean a complete fool would know that plan wouldn't work. I can't believe Vince McMahon said ok to it. One of the worst storylines ever. Poor Glenn Jacobs was given that character. Glenn Jacobs went on to become Kane so that worked out in the end. But because he was given such bad characters the Wwe seems to do whatever with Kane and it is like well at least you are not one of those characters anymore. That seems to be a problem with Vince, he seems completly incapable of taking responsibilty for misusing talent.
EnforcerX71 so true, so true. And they superstars get blamed for not getting over when they are scheduled to lose all the time. I mean if you lose every match the fans will think you don't got it. And if you use to win matches like Kane and now lose most of the time the fans think you lost something and are not as good as you use to be. I mean you can put people over and not lose every match. No one that is good should become a jobber. I mean lose some I get but not all. I mean when you already know how its going to end. I don't get what they are doing with Bray Wyatt. I hear they are trying to change his character by giving him a all new one. I don't think that is the answer. Alot of people like the Bray Wyatt character. They don't need to give him a all new character but make changes to the old one like Undertaker and Kane did all their careers. I mean have him as a face. I mean it might go well. It did with Undertaker. I never thought they would make Undertaker face when he debut. I never thought people would cheer him. I was completely wrong. I never thought people would cheer Rusev. I mean you don't know if you don't try. I recommend changing the character he has and not give him a whole new one but that is just my opinion.
N Smith Honestly I think Rusev could have been better if he wasn't saddled with being Nikolai Volkoff 2.0. Like seriously they don't really have gimmicks anymore and those who do have stereotypical ones
Since Wwe has not done much rewarding him I hope that he gets it. I have heard him speak on politics and I like what I have heard. Funny one of the guys that doesn't use politics in Wwe is doing it in real life.
shrill Mark I kind of thought even back in the day he had a temper. I guess it is why I like it. I don't have much of a temper so it's just funny when someone does.
It’s mind blowing that they wanted to fire him at some point. Think of what WWE would have missed out on. It would have also been so bad because until he was Kane, they never really gave him an honest chance. So glad he was able to prove them very wrong.
@@mattquigley6518 His view on Dems are way outdated. He thinks they are still the champions of the working class and not a party of coastal elites. Neither party cares about the working class these days.
@@theb3654 Very astute observation. My opinion is that JFK's democratic party died with him. LBJ brought the "Great Society" welfare glut and turned the party into the hand-out champions. Everything else is the inevitable result of that.
Glen went to my Gold's gym like 20 years ago in Atlanta. Was before he took mask off but trust me everyone knew was Kane. Was a tone wrestlers at the gym. A lot WCW guys were also there. Man that was a great time. People actually talked to each other in the gym then.
Dutch really came up with some of the greatest talents you’ve ever seen in wrestling...he should get more credit for his part in the history of the business...is he even the wrestling HOF?
Basically Jim likes him cause he didn't do dumb shit and kept his nose clean and wasn't disrespectful to the business or his peers but I'm sure he might have spoke his mind but in a meaningful way
+DwayneTheBushcrafter How is Jim a socialist? He's a centrist Democrat at best. Even Bernie Sanders, the closest thing to a socialist in this country (at least when it comes to well known politicians, but of course there is actual socialists and even communists in this country but they don't belong to either of the big two major parties) would be considered a moderate left-winger in most European countries. Only in the US, which is far more right-wing then other first world countries are people like Bernie Sanders, AOC, and myself considered far-left extremists. We would be considered moderates just about anywhere else.
@@SpinosaurusTheProudSocialist herp derp I'm not a socialist herp derp, im a "insert different definition that describes the same thing" ist, sheesh get your facts straight! This is one of the reasons people hate socialists!
I'd like to see that talk. Cornette isn't stupid; he's just trapped in the echo chamber. From my first hand experiences, people like him outright haven't heard good arguments against the Democrats and their approaches. He's right about the conservative movement being hypocritical and intellectually flimsy. I was on the left for what's still the majority of my adult life on account of the fact that every conservative that I had ever met, professors included, couldn't do things like explain why the gilded age was such a shithole time period or why wage and price controls are a bad idea, and then would even turn right around and start treating the left's victim narratives as if they were absolutely true. If they had even an ounce of understanding of their own beliefs, they would have started by explaining to me what wealth actually is and where it comes from. I think that there's a conflict of interests in the conservatives that prevents them from being consistent and will ultimately cause them to lash out at anyone that truly threatens to blow away the left's smokescreen, though. If they sincerely believed in economic freedom, they would be petitioning the government to not hoist the burden of their old age penchants and social security on the young.
I swear Cornette must be looking at some of those moderate Dems I keep hearing about because even full on Democrats hate what hardcore leftism has done to their party. I'm not on either side at the moment either. There are crazies' on both sides but, Democratic voters are like Browns fans. Even when that team isn't worth rooting for it's still their team and they don't care who knows it. I respect Corny for his knowledge of the wrestling business but, his knowledge of politics is grade school level.
He was still a force, but he lost his monster aura to me when they unmasked him, and he just started jobbing to guys. However, in a character role that he had being the Undertaker’s brother, there HAD to be some form of resolution, there had to be a final match to determine who was the better brother. Also, to be even more fair, he had been in the company for quite a while, and around 2002-2003 a lot of new talent was coming into the WWE - including the OVW bunch : Lesnar, Batista, Cena, Orton, Benjamin, Haas etc.. and it was time to shed some light on them. Gotta keep the ball rolling..
It didn't help his character. I think that WrestleMania should of been the Inferno match because Undertaker had to win in Wwe's eyes at WrestleMania and Kane had to lose the Inferno match in their eyes because he had already been set on fire. If at Unforgiven the next month Kane won and then they did the best of 3 and had Kane win again it would of helped his character but then people would say Undertaker is not as good as he used to be and needs to retire. Alot of what people say on the internet hurts rather than helps when it comes to Wwe. No way would Wwe take that chance. I think it also hurt that his first Championship looked like a fluke. I mean he didn't win it on his own and lost it the very next night. Could he not hold on to it for a while? Austin was unbelievably over and didn't need it. I mean he could of won it back in a month or two to make it mean a little more. Stone Cold was having so many issues with Dude love and Mankind with Undertaker thrown in the mix. Actually that would of been another good time to have a Undertaker vs Kane match with Kane going over and retaining the Title. To me it was both losing twice to the Undertaker and then winning the title with outside help and then losing it the next day. It was hard to buy him being a monster after that. I heard Mark Calaway AKA the Undertaker say he thought Kane should of went over in an interview in 2001 or 2002. He at least did give back to Kane in 2010 by having Kane beat him 3 times and it made Kane look good again but afterwards Wwe messed it up again by having him lose the belt and going back to being a jobber. It made no sense. Anyways after he took off the mask and people realized it was The fake Diesel and the ridiculous dentist behind the mask it just killed it worse. I was like that is who is behind the mask. I have much respect for Glenn Jacobs and like him but he had Two of the worst characters in Wwe. But even that I was ok with until they made Kane start jobbing to everyone including Shane MCMAHON. I mean that is in my view what killed that monster hype but at least he found a way to make it work all these years.
TyrantT316 I believe there should of been 3 matches. Undertaker getting the win at WrestleMania and it also should of been the Inferno match because Wwe wanted Undertaker to win that just like they want Undertaker to lose bury alive matches because he can come back and Kane has already been burned. Then 2 other matches which Kane went over would of really helped Kane. To have him lose to Undertaker twice hurt the monster gimmick. Then that 1 day holding the Title just made it 10 times worse. It made his Title win look like a fluke and then he didn't win it again for almost 10 years. They could of kept it on him at least a little while. Austin was unbelievably over at the time and could of had matches with other people and won it back later. It would not have hurt Austin at all. Nothing would of because how big he was. It would of helped Kane big-time! No Wwe could not give Kane a Title run because Kane was not a character Vince thought would be good as the Champion of His business. It pisses me off that Everytime they build Kane up they knock him back down. That is why know one believes him as a monster or Big Show as a giant because Wwe has turned them into jobbers. They are doing it now with Bray Wyatt and I would not be surprised if later with Braun Strowman. It is almost like a bad thing to be a big guy in the business anymore. That use to be a good thing in the 80s.

I loved when austin asked kane for a title shot and that epic nod yes its the little things in wrestling that make it enjoyable
Patrick Boian but the one day holding the championship was stupid and bad for business and didn't do anything for Kane.
Kane's body language spoke volumes. That's how good he is
Should've had it for at least a month or two
kane for president
rob brindisi he won't be able to run as he was born in Spain.
Natural born citizen as his parents were working for US military in Spain. So he can run for president.
He's running for Mayor of Knoxville TN.. I hope he gets it
Since Wwe has not done much rewarding him I hope that he gets it. I have heard him speak on politics and I like what I have heard. Funny one of the guys that doesn't use politics in Wwe is doing it in real life.
When he addresses the nation the lights dim and everything gets red and his music hits
Legend has it that Glenn Jacobs became the Big Red Mayor.
And now the Mayor of Knoxville
Lloyd Smalley Knox county. Not Knoxville.
Who else would pay to watch Cornette in a debate with Glenn?
Glenn Jacobs is too smart a man to have been embroiled in scandals and bad ways. I've always been a big fan of the Big Red Machine.
I could listen to Jim all day.
shrill Mark I kind of thought even back in the day he had a temper.
I've got to be honest. Glen would school Jim on politics.
Nah
Hopefully chokeslams someone trying to F the ppl there.
If Cornette says the Democrats are the most "reasonable and rational" people, I would guess that he has a very shallow sense of politics and policy.
I busted out laughing when Jim said Democrats where are the most rational LOL
In comparison to republicans.
Steel Sunday It’s a Hitler vs. Stalin conversation. Why waste any breath on it (though I am wasting effort typing about it...).
@@SteelSunday take a look at it what's going on right now and then tell me who's the more rational
And now he's mayor of Knoxville chokeslaming poverty
Kane should of won the rumble in 2001
Glen went to my Gold's gym like 20 years ago in Atlanta. Was before he took mask off but trust me everyone knew was Kane. Was a tone wrestlers at the gym. A lot WCW guys were also there. Man that was a great time. People actually talked to each other in the gym then.
Kane is my All time Favorite Wrestler Since 1990s till Late 00s.
Fucking Beast
Late 90s/early 2000s Kane with Bearer as his manager was just fuckin awesome.
Kane will be in hall of fame if he already isn't, all around greatest dude of all time
With subtle ease, the best guy in wwe.... Gotta love the big red monster.
I also like Kane a lot
KANE IS RUNING FOR MAYOR OF KNOX COUNTY TENESEE
ROIDED CAPS why is he wearing a suit?
He won
I’m surprised that Jim cornette likes something that happened after 1985
Kinda embarrassed for Jim only two years ago saying Dems were levelheaded when they’ve been out of it since Bush jr
Kane plays a literal demon in the ring while being the closest thing to an angel behind the scenes, kind of interesting
Did he really just say that democrats were reasonable people?
aint it the Republicans who wanted your people deported to mexico?
Just the illegal ones.
When I was a kid, I thought Kane and Adam Bomb was the same person.
He played basketball in college and still holds some sort of record at this college
Dutch really came up with some of the greatest talents you’ve ever seen in wrestling...he should get more credit for his part in the history of the business...is he even the wrestling HOF?
Basically Jim likes him cause he didn't do dumb shit and kept his nose clean and wasn't disrespectful to the business or his peers but I'm sure he might have spoke his mind but in a meaningful way
I love jim cornette
Kane is probably the one guy who could drag Cornette out of the socialist way of thinking
We know where they live because he's the freaking mayor
Kane '24
Betcha Kane never “lost his smile “ under that mask
He wasn't anyone's boytoy, he wasn't butthurt.
Is that kane????? Why is he wearing a suit???
Kanes the man. Never heard of Glenn jacobs
I miss the original Kane before he was replaced with a new person.
Back before the TDS hit. #F
Man, Jim must not have met the new wave of Democrats that has taken over. The complete opposite in my college just a year or two ago.
Cornette is exposing the business.
The horse left that barn a long, long time ago.
This isnt Austria.
Jim Cornette needs to look into progressivism and the green party.
green party is a delusional joke
Interesting.
I always thought they were pushing Kane to be the next Phenom but I was wrong!
I love Cornette but leave the politics at home Corny.
Remove Alice and special edition in Brian Last!
marry me alice
Alice is a ugly twat.
Kane died when undertaker beat him! Then he lost his monster hype!
I'd probably say when Austin beat him for the title clean the night after First Blood. But yes I believe he should have gone over Taker at WM14.
TyrantT316 would have been a bad idea in the long run. The streak sold mania for years.
That use to be a good thing in the 80s.
lol really democrates are the sane ones lmao.
Will not listen to Jim ever again.
Reasonable Democrats? 🙄
Eh, Kane is a little overrated
Not at all. He's underrated.
