You quite likely have what is called a parasitic drain in your electrical system. You can test this with a multimeter. There are several very good tutorials by others on TH-cam that you can view for the procedure. Have a Honda Element that does the same thing. Turns out it is a tailgate switch that is a dome light switch that is contained in the tailgate latch mechanism. Hope this helps.
Juat got one tonight and will be using it on my 08 Eclipse. Keep it stored during winter and these ridiculously frigid nights have drained the battery. Looking fwd to see how this works. Thanks for the video!
They’re a nice battery charger when they’re working I’ve had two of them now and they’re both broken and they’re not very old only about two years that’s the life expectancy of one of these battery chargers if you use it occasionally
Very good review. Seems like another excellent Schumacher charger. However, I would definitely try to figure out what is causing your battery to die. Something is causing a drain on it. Continuing to jump start the battery like this is going to put a lot of stress on the alternator. That stress will cause a premature alternator failure. Also, using this method may cause your family to be stranded if the car is shut off before the battery is charged enough to provide restarting current.
@@BoredGuyWithACamera Have you ever fully charged the battery with this charger? Or have you only used it for a jump start? Kia and Hyundai actually make some very good and reliable cars in my opinion. You might have a light in the trunk or glove box that is not shutting off properly. It is more than likely a small issue that is causing this bigger problem for you.
@@fwh79FOXR6 yes I've charged it and have had it charged. Something is killing the battery amps. The volts never really go below 9v. I have to be honest with you. The wifey wants a jeep, so this thing is ready to move on. She's close to 200000 and this is the only problem we have had.
With engine off, I see that the voltage on the charger is reading 9 volts. Disconnect the charger once the engine is running and check the voltage at the battery terminals using a voltmeter/multimeter. If the voltmeter reads somewhere between 13 to 16 volts, then your alternator is attempting to charge the battery and is working properly. If alternator is working properly then you most likely have a battery with a shorted cell (common symptom is battery reading 9-10 volts with engine off...see my first sentence). A shorted cell on a new battery is probably a manufacturing defect.
When you first take this unit right fresh out of the box, do you need to put it in to a 110v recepticle (house power) before using and if so, for how long?
Do I need to charge the Schumacher unit from my AC outlet before I use it to jump my car? Or do I need to plug it in the AC outlet while I'm jumping the car?
Bored guy with a camera! Well I mean Charging the Schumacher battery, I’ve been using the A/C Cord, is there a way to use it portable? Or cord is the only way to go?
@@BoredGuyWithACamera I bought it today from Walmart . Do we need to charge the jump starter or it’s already charge ? Can we start the car same as jump starter does ?
The battery isn’t the issue. Fix the parasitic drain causing the issue. You can probably google it and find out what it is. Unless you have some aftermarket electronics on the car.
I just bought this battery charger and I took my battery out of my car and now I’m charging it in my house . Is it safe to leave the battery charging over night?

Awesome, so did you pick it up? How did it work out for you?
Just please show the process, how to connect what to what, the steps
You may have parasitic draw. You have to take a multimeter and check your fuse sockets and check your ground wires.
When would you use the 30amp boost?
"I want you to see the countdown" ...misses countdown :D
Nice video though. A lot of the other videos fail to show them starting the car
Thanks for the tips!

That's crazy to hear. I still have it and it works great.
Nice video bro. Thanks

Yeah, it's a junk Kia lol.

Nice video, but I don't care for the cropping on both sides.
Thx you

This charger is not a portable unit. It stays plugged in while you use it. They have jump packs like this but not this one. amzn.to/33cgPBZ

How long do you have to charge it
It has Jumpstart that only takes like a min to charge.

Its not a jump pack, it has jump start . Meaning quick start like a jump pack.
Couldn't you just charge in 2 and 6

The battery says it’s at 12 % . So how long does it take to fully charge the battery
