Here's a little something to support that first hint. I went with 3 friends to the fall Indianapolis regional last year, and one of them brought along with him something for the weekend that saved our stomachs from hunger and that was huge bulk box of nature valley bars. We were able to make the box last both days at that tournament for the most part but without it we likely would have been in a hella lot of trouble since the other two friends of ours were official judges for both days of the event, such that their ability to judge the tournaments would likely have been very significantly affected. Therefore, the moral of the story is: BE PREPARED WITH FOOD FOR BIG EVENTS!!!!!!
One of my personal best investments i always bring with me to any tournament (locals or huge events) is a camel pack bladder. Fill it up with water and put some pieces of ice in there and it will last you throughtout the whole event. I swear i get a bunch of complements of "damnit i should of thought of that" I highly recommend getting one
Some players can be so toxic. My locals for example are cancerous cuz there are some of them that called themselves senpais and acted so high and mighty.
One thing I like doing to prepare for a big event is playing 2 of my decks against each other (playing with myself lol) but giving the one I'm not using for the event a big 8 card pre-selected advantage. This helps me practice against being at a disadvantage and helps me think about 2 decks at the same time. This helped me reach top 8 in 2015 and Top 3 with a Continentals appearance in 2016 :)
Just like you said know what each meta decks do , so I guess new videos about the meta deck combos and winning strategy of those decks will be really useful to see , make those videos ! Amazing content as always
I would love to see more prep videos. I'm a new player in the past six months and am looking to start toppling my local shop tournaments or four and five rounds:) maybe a regional sometime but definitely I want to compete with my local bros, they are very good lol
I'd like to see a meta tier list video again of set 14. I know you did one about Stargate, think you did about set 13 but can't recall. Maybe also some key combos some topping decks are doing and how to cope with them? Not many people know how to cope with fenrir Wiseman loop etc. I'm a really big fan of your work btw, I watch like all of your videos when they come out xD. And I agree, know your deck and know what it can do and at the same time, keep in mind what the opponent is doing to best counter them. Stay awesome ;-)
Thank you so much! I only do the actual meta discussions when there's more results :) I stick to meta prediction videos when we have few or no results for the set.
What about a video covering how to properly analyse an opponents deck during play? By this typically mean when you go against something rouge and how you should approach your opponents deck. This could include finding the deck's common trends and strategies, before it catches you off-guard. I know that rouge decks won't be good in the upcoming format with the inclusion of the Star Gate Booster and G Set 14 but maybe this might be a good topic in the near future once the new mechanic rolls around.
How about a video talking about playtesting, deckbuilding, and the process of choosing which cards to include in a deck or not. I know a few people at my locals who struggle with deckbuilding amd balancing, and as a result they never top or even come close to topping
For a possible future content, i would like to see your 'Vanguard Collection' like what/how many decks do you currently have and so on throughout the time you have been playing vanguard.
hey solemn! my local card shop used to have a vanguard community, but it has devolved and i want to build it back up again. how should i go about building up a vanguard community in my locals? cheers!
i needed this. i was at my locals saturday and i went 2:2 when i was playing messiah. i lost to gurguit (cause of a stand crit) and victor but beat blasters and blau.
I got a question like can you take or make a homemade protein bar that have like let say maybe 73% of mentality boost and 63% are focus more on thing and maybe 20% or 35% energy jolt to kinda keep you awake? I was thinking of looking at that to take some with me to keep my energy going.
solemn think you could do a deck building tips video going over your thought process? i've been playing for like a year now but i've have never had like a *solid* build for any of my decks. i'm always testing some different card and different ratios and stuff. (prbly got like a thousand gold paladin builds by now :| ) how do you know "aright this is an extremely valuable card. must use" or "i'll run 'this' in 'this' quantity"?
I see you have talked about look at the decklist in Japan and know the cards when XX set relist. I think you should talk about some different that Japan and US may have. For example, TD Luard in the US for some reason, you are not allowed to stride for free when you ride a new G3, but in Japan, you are allowed to do that. I hope you could make some video to talk about those effects.
Lol I memorized all the cards in my deck and I know the combos and stuff but I always forget about using esras during main phase and 2 cards in my deck need a ritual vg to work which i usually don't have for 1st stride since I still use doomed belial combo XD
The misplay thing actually happened to me at a tournament (he used Samuel’s skill with only two RG). I got what he was doing but the damage was 5 to 1 and felt bad for him so I just let him do it. I won in the next turn.
I know my deck by heart and soul for years, I've had it since set 13, my avatar won me my shop challenge against two deletors, blaster/Alfred, and thavas
kywoun hall-keith Question: What grade 2 you run in the deck? I run 4 gizelle and 3 chatura but I'm not sure what other g 2 to run....I used to run rockclimb but he don't do much since the opponent I faced rarely called a bunch of rg so my vg skills get rid of them instead....I tried running Helena but other than giving a draw, it does not help setup thinderstrike....martial art for me is kind of vanilla post stride turns.
Can you make a video explanation on why you are closing the shop just to make an official statement so that we don't go rampage the bushiroad office for nothing.
can you make a video taking about cardfight Vanguard singles? Things like where it's best to get them or where it's best to check the price for them. good online sites and etc.
Mystic Blaze Here is a good site for single cards, it's called Ideal 808 and imo they practically set the secondary market price on Vanguard cards, but due to this they are prone to running out of stock pretty quickly.
00:51 *HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAAHA* Sleep? The night before LA's grandfest regionals me and my friends drove all night to the venue and arrived there in the morning. I got like 30 minutes out of the 6 hour drive lmfao. (Nothing had happened to me though)
For the love of god, fucking shower beforehand and use deodorant!!! Also, bring that deodorant and some hand sanitizer along to the event. Also, use new sleeves so you don't accidently get DQed for "marked" cards.
I hate my locals so much like it's so fucking hard to win/ top because we have really good players that play super meta decks with all the cards so since i have a 75% of my deck with no funds to complete it i'm fucked.
Solemn Vanguard my parents will not allow me to spend money online meaning that I can't buy singles, I can't find any singles locally either, sooooooooo....... my deck is about 5 years outdated
Time to get on that SolemnDiet and start topping Alternatively you can follow @CanYouSayG or @DifferentFight on Twitter to see all the tournament results worldwide every week wink wonk ;)
lol speaking of Star Gate meta, I'm so glad that Deletors are more main stream because i'm tired of explaining what "Delete" is lol
Max Froehlich I remember when luard just came out and I played Deletors against Luard and they were like what clan or what skill is this?
Lol sadly my clan, the collection of mask, was not included in the star gate boster and i have to explain what vote and contest is all the time
Basically just to summarize this video:
-Get some enough rest and foods to eat.
- Know yourself, know the enemy.
Shower. Seriously everyone.
Wash your Aps
"By the time the game starts you aren't playing your deck, you're playing your opponent"

Wonderful advice. As always.

Malcolm Johnson oh really crap
I would love to see more prep videos. I'm a new player in the past six months and am looking to start toppling my local shop tournaments or four and five rounds:) maybe a regional sometime but definitely I want to compete with my local bros, they are very good lol
Clifton Littlepage nightrose sucks
Jaryd Beebe ha! Jokes on you!....you're right...
Thanks man.

Great video. sometimes common sense is the key to win. Please make a victor deck profile and have a sample video for fighting please :)
Any opinion on musketeers? With the recent support I haven't seen much covered on them and would like to know your opinion
Mommy Solemn encouraging you to eat good foods.
I got a question like can you take or make a homemade protein bar that have like let say maybe 73% of mentality boost and 63% are focus more on thing and maybe 20% or 35% energy jolt to kinda keep you awake? I was thinking of looking at that to take some with me to keep my energy going.

I’m thinking of entering my first shop tournament. Could you make a video that can help me prepare for it?
I see you have talked about look at the decklist in Japan and know the cards when XX set relist. I think you should talk about some different that Japan and US may have. Any way you can break down the top meta decks one by one? Strengths, weakness, tendencies? Like what you did with Deletors?
What do you mean by ratio of deck ? Do you mean know how many copies of the same cards are in my deck ? Thank you for the info.
The misplay thing actually happened to me at a tournament (he used Samuel’s skill with only two RG). I got what he was doing but the damage was 5 to 1 and felt bad for him so I just let him do it. I won in the next turn.
So you like BMed him?
Oh yeah I would like to know how I should practice for tournament. How long should I practice ?
i would like to see more tournament prep videos
when would u call a judge if your opponent misplay or forget to resolve skills
I know my deck by heart and soul for years, I've had it since set 13, my avatar won me my shop challenge against two deletors, blaster/Alfred, and thavas
Skrrrrt
I lost to chaos using thavas and a question that rose up was should I use pokkur so when I play againts chaos I have an answer aside from galfelia
That's why I keep play testing my vanquisher deck I almost know all my deck just got to memorize the grade 4
kywoun hall-keith Question: What grade 2 you run in the deck? I run 4 gizelle and 3 chatura but I'm not sure what other g 2 to run....I used to run rockclimb but he don't do much since the opponent I faced rarely called a bunch of rg so my vg skills get rid of them instead....I tried running Helena but other than giving a draw, it does not help setup thinderstrike....martial art for me is kind of vanilla post stride turns.

I'd really appreciate a video on how to prepare for a first tournament... I've never been in one yet..Ever XD and I'd really like to be prepared
Can you do tips on how to practice for tournaments?
breakdown of darkness deck topping in Japan or the rise of rinne/deluge 2.0
Does any one know any where i could go to find turnments near me?
Can you make a video explanation on why you are closing the shop just to make an official statement so that we don't go rampage the bushiroad office for nothing.
Solemn, what's your opinion on rice? Are you a fan of it?
The food? :P Yes, I eat it many times a week.
Solemn Vanguard Glad to see a person who enjoys it too. It's a really great source of carbs and it goes well with any form of proteins and veges....
can you make a video taking about cardfight Vanguard singles? Things like where it's best to get them or where it's best to check the price for them. good online sites and etc.

I told my fren to pack food for the tournament and he packed kit kat.I think he enjoyed the food more than the tournament itself
Can you do a video for how to beat overlords
Please do a guide on saving money on full building decks like I want to build chaos should i buy clan booster or singles and stuff like that
A budget guide I guess
And stuff like when people feel the weight of a pack and judge rarity I got 2 RR and a RRR in three random packs

Tip no.1
*Watch Solemn Vanguard*
Ha! Rice (Asian Guy)
reeee where is Q&A 3 part 2
so those of us who work graveyard the night before a tournament are screwed? lol
For the love of god, fucking shower beforehand and use deodorant!!! Also, bring that deodorant and some hand sanitizer along to the event. Also, use new sleeves so you don't accidently get DQed for "marked" cards.
This video is about increasing your chances of doing well in the tourney, not about "being a decent human being"... ;P
But yes, do shower plz.
XD
I was expecting tip 1 was to bring axe body spray and a face mask lol
gyze ruling kinda vague need video
I hate my locals so much like it's so fucking hard to win/ top because we have really good players that play super meta decks with all the cards so since i have a 75% of my deck with no funds to complete it i'm fucked.
knowledge that I will probably never use, lol XD

Solemn Vanguard my parents will not allow me to spend money online meaning that I can't buy singles, I can't find any singles locally either, sooooooooo....... my deck is about 5 years outdated

The youtube algorithm punishes the quality over quantity approach
"Quality over quantity"
Please shower before the tourney. Or you might be kicked out. I’ve seen it happen before. Some dude was asked to leave cuz he stank rancid
