Not really. Most of the time when Gavin does something stupid, its on accident. In almost ALL of the Worms Let's Play videos, Gavin's mistakes are not scripted at all.
He just couldn't take the freedom being sent by Jeremy and Ryan. Leaped into the harbor to reunite with his lost tea...
For a brief moment at around 8:30, I couldn't believe how much Gavin had learned about how to play the game properly. I was then immediately reminded not to worry because it's still Gavin.

To make things more interesting and get drinks involved, each time you kill a worm, you get to choose who drinks a shot. To prevent everyone from picking on Gavin, you can only do 2 consecutive shots.

C'mon Jeremy! If you ever watched Hey Arnold, you would have named that worm, Yo Ernest! A character in the show actually said he was was gonna "Watch Yo Ernest". The show then followed that up with a "badum-busch" drum sound, just to make the synonym more emphasized. What a show!
The gang's worm names might be my favorite thing about this series; they all have gotten really good at it.

Worms is one of my favorites when they play it. I wish they'd just take a day to record a bunch, and then drop them periodically as a filler if they need a break. I often go back and rewatch episodes, because I can never remember who jumps to their death in this one.
