My mom met Coco in her last years. My mom worked as an au pair for a doctor in Paris on Rue Daumier. She said Coco was very sick and it hurt to sit down. She gave my mom some free perfume and didn't treat her like the hired help that she was.

I’m a woman, and I’ve watched a LOT of these videos now (and recommend this channel to basically everyone I meet!). I always thought of Chanel as bougie and never really appealed to me, but after hearing her biography, I think she’s my “feminine soul sister” lol. What she did for women- especially for women who can’t afford upper class clothing is really impressive. Her views on clothes are also impressive. I love her “body positivity” attitude. I came out of this loving her as a person though still being critical of high fashion brands- the moral dilemmas of life...

A ten percenter here. Biographies and nonfiction are so much more compelling to me than fantasy. There’s always something to learn about culture and history by the amazing individuals who shape it. Their personal trials, their victories and foibles can serve as inspiration or cautionary tales. And more often than not, I’m left saying, “You can’t make this stuff up!”

I’m assuming your referencing how you have no interest in the clothes and jewelry rich and famous people indulge in, and therefor have no interest to conform in obtaining them. Or you have no interest in vogue magazine or style blogs.. etc etc. which is fine, but that’s the glamour and illusion of “the business of fashion” you think it’s just about pretty expensive useless consumer products that no one really needs to live or survive... but it’s much more than that... the entire fashion industry is actually ‘social engineering’ its the codes,blueprints, materials on culture and human civilization. In ancient Egypt the pharaohs wore elaborate costumes not because it was fun, but because they had to make themselves identifiable as a divine creature, someone who has a superior authority over the other men woman and children whom surrounded them..but not to go on a huge rant... I will leave you with a question...is it not ironic that the shirt on your back.. the shoes on your feet... the watch on your wrist..the house that you sleep, eat, and bathe in, will be here existing with a physical presence long after we pass on our own physical presence?

As a Canadian, I'd like to see some Canadians included too! Riel & Fox are good starting points. For women, Lucy Maud Montgomery and Nellie McClung would be good also.
Riel is definitely an interesting and complex individual. He's still a bit controversial to this day although he's generally seen in a far more positive light than he once was. Terry Fox's fame has more to do with how his story played out in the media. He was inspirational to many but he didn't exactly change Canadian society. Instead, Canadians tend to hold him up as an example of character traits we find admirable (particularly perseverance and giving back to the community). When it comes to politicians, I'd say William Lyon Mackenzie King, Wilfred Laurier, Lester Pearson, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Tommy Douglas and Réné Lesvesque would all make interesting videos. They were all complicated figures with admirable traits and distinct flaws. Maurice Duplessis was deeply flawed but the massive backlash against his period of governance may have done more to push Canada towards its current progressive world view than even Tommy Douglas' efforts ever did. Outside the political realm, Sam Steele, William Lyon Mackenzie & Louis Joseph Papineau (possible best done as a double feature since they 1837 rebellions were a double feature with one main outcome), Norman Bethune, Grey Owl, Gerald Bull, Gen. Arthur Currie, Marshall McLuhan, and Wilder Penfield would all probably make interesting choices.

Ray Kent like Chanel said. Fashion is in the sky, it’s about how we live and think. what we do, or not do. If you have clothing on your body you are interested in “fashion”. I’m assuming your referencing how you have no interest in the clothes and jewelry rich and famous people indulge in, and therefor have no interest to conform in obtaining them. Or you have no interest in vogue magazine or style blogs.. etc etc. which is fine, but that’s the glamour and illusion of “the business of fashion” you think it’s just about pretty expensive useless consumer products that no one really needs to live or survive... but it’s much more than that... the entire fashion industry is actually ‘social engineering’ its the codes,blueprints, materials on culture and human civilization. In ancient Egypt the pharaohs wore elaborate costumes not because it was fun, but because they had to make themselves identifiable as a divine creature, someone who has a superior authority over the other men woman and children whom surrounded them..but not to go on a huge rant... I will leave you with a question...is it not ironic that the shirt on your back.. the shoes on your feet... the watch on your wrist..the house that you sleep, eat, and bathe in, will be here existing with a physical presence long after we pass on our own physical presence?

As a Canadian, I'd like to see some Canadians included too! Riel & Fox are good starting points. For women, Lucy Maud Montgomery and Nellie McClung would be good also.
Riel is definitely an interesting and complex individual. He's still a bit controversial to this day although he's generally seen in a far more positive light than he once was. Terry Fox's fame has more to do with how his story played out in the media. He was inspirational to many but he didn't exactly change Canadian society. Instead, Canadians tend to hold him up as an example of character traits we find admirable (particularly perseverance and giving back to the community).
When it comes to politicians, I'd say William Lyon Mackenzie King, Wilfred Laurier, Lester Pearson, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Tommy Douglas and Réné Lesvesque would all make interesting videos. They were all complicated figures with admirable traits and distinct flaws. Maurice Duplessis was deeply flawed but the massive backlash against his period of governance may have done more to push Canada towards its current progressive world view than even Tommy Douglas' efforts ever did.
Outside the political realm, Sam Steele, William Lyon Mackenzie & Louis Joseph Papineau (possible best done as a double feature since they 1837 rebellions were a double feature with one main outcome), Norman Bethune, Grey Owl, Gerald Bull, Gen. Arthur Currie, Marshall McLuhan, and Wilder Penfield would all probably make interesting choices.
It would be really interesting to see a story about a famous Canadian. I'd also like to see a video on possibly John A. Mcdonald and Wilfrid Laurier.
