- For the first time, the niece of Lori Vallow testified. Melani Pawlowski took the stand in the Chad Daybell trial, telling the court what Daybell and Vallow allegedly taught regarding extreme religious beliefs.
Last year, Melani was disqualified from testifying in her aunt’s trial due to listening to her ex-husband’s (Brandon Boudreaux) testimony.
Lori Vallow was found guilty in May 2023 of six charges, including the murders of Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, both of whom were her children. On July 31, Vallow was sentenced to life in prison without parole by an Idaho judge.

It’s my belief that their lives are lacking something profound. Apparently having children and nurturing them and helping them grow into adulthood was not enough. IMO, they felt invisible, and even their religion didn’t fulfill them. In waddles chud, who sees them for the gullible, pitiful people they are. He sees some easy marks who will do his bidding, and all he has to do is tell them how important they are to his cult. One will be the goddess, one the protector, and one will control the weather. And because of this, they will commit the most heinous crimes without shame.

Her ex husband had the right instincts to hide those kids from her. Unfortunately she has since been granted joint custody with her ex Brandon. I’m hoping the judge in that case hears that recording and rescinds that judgement.

Last year surrounding Lori's trial there was speculation that while Alex laid in the trunk of Tylee's jeep shooting at Brandon it was a strong possibility that Mel B. was in the driver's seat. One reason for this is that the jeep pulled out quickly after the gun was fired, too quickly for Alex to climb over the interior seats and get into driving position. Another is that she was one of a handful of people who knew where Brandon lived.

I really hope they didn’t make a deal with her!! She believed her OWN children were “dark” and went after them in the dark of night at Brandon’s parents’ house. Watch the bodycam from when the police had to arrest her because she wasn’t going to leave without her “dark” children.

When she turned up at her ex parents in law house demanding her children, they called the police. Thankfully the police trespassed her. Alex Cox had driven her there and was waiting in the car. As her kids were dark what were they planning for them? She is guilty and complicit in planning the attempt on Brandon’s life and probably more.
